37:32 Rikke isn't actually the lady who ordered your execution, the lady from the intro is an imperial while Rikke is a nord, also if you go with Ralof you kill the intro lady in the helgan keep.
I never knew the Paul Bunyan myth went international. It was a goofy story told to kids in the north-central US many decades ago. Think Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan. Lumberjack of enormous size and strength. (Might be in Manitoba and Ontario mythology, too. I don't know for certain. Is Paul Bunyan a Canadian mythology folk hero, too?) There is the statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox in Bemidji, Minnesota. I have seen that with my own eyes: it's so goofy! A fake replica can be seen in the movie Fargo. It's a lumberjack myth. A huge boi whose footprints made lakes just by walking around. Babe was basically his pet who followed him around. Paul used oaks to pick his teeth and spruce to swab his ears. He was damn big and inadvertantly created geographic features of Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin by tripping and falling down a lot mostly. There is a regional brand of vodka called Blue Ox HQ'd in Des Moines, Iowa. For a cheap vodka it's not half bad. Weird, because Iowa ain't anywhere near the northwoods. It is a cautionary tale about over-foresting. My grandfather worked at a lumber camp in far northern Wisconsin up near Minong when he was a teen. He was a kitchen fetcher, cleaner, scrubber. He peeled a lot of potatoes. Not a lumberjack, but he was old-school lumberjack adjacent. The very tail end of that era. It is kinda bizarre for a Brit to do a Paul Bunyan run which is a specifically regional North American myth / folk hero. I'm totally down for it.
I will say it educated me a lot on the Canadian folklore it was so interesting to say the least a cup of tea and reading through the stories and adjusting the run accordingly sort of went the hercules route with the feats but it was really cool
there's also a huge statue of Paul and Babe at the Trees of Mystery in the Redwood National Park that was absolutely magical to me as a kid, even though it's a bit goofy looking now ❤
I was Paul Bunyan in some cub scout skit as a youth, complete with newspaper balled up under a huge sweatshirt to make muscles. Everyone in the skit portrayed some kind of similar legendary type of figure. Someone else was Johnny Appleseed, for example. Don't remember any others at the moment.
Respect for keeping the spiders off screen for those with arachnophobia. You were fun to watch. As much as I've played this game, it's fun to see someone who hasn't experienced the game in certain ways.
Very cool video idea, a heavily restricted run with just a Woodcutter's Axe and basic clothes Since you did the Woodcutter's axe, you can try Steve from Minecraft and try to only use the Pickaxe and later getting the Notched Pickaxe. You did even mention Minecraft when you explained that woodcutting mod.
@InsaneFrame Fair enough, I was talking about another Skyrim run though, but another tool only run in Skyrim may not be the best choice. Could try a looted enchantment only run where you only can use enchanted gear you find, loot, buy, or are given by NPCs. That way it can be a chance based run with only a few weapons with set guaranteed enchantments.
Could have sworn, I remembered seeing another TH-camr using a Paul Bunyun mod(s), a couple of years ago. Can't remember much about it, just that you were a giant with a wood cutter's axe 😆. Would be cool to see you using them
to be honest fallout 4 isn't doing too great on the channel but the short of it is build lots of water purifiers and wait 3 days then get some charisma clothing and sell the water and buy out fusion cores to vendors sorry to sort of pull production on it maybe if i do a challenge I'll go over it briefly but fallout is not doing great on my channel for some reason so it may be a while!
As a person with arachnophobia - while I'm not scared of Skyrim spiders (since they aren't too realistic) - I really do appreciate that you cut all the spider scenes out, keeping in mind that some people could feel uncomfortable :D
Hello, Minnesotan here. In honor of Paul Bunyan, I will share with you the Paul Bunyan joke that is so funny that my cousin, upon telling it in her dream, woke herself up from a dead sleep laughing: How does Paul Bunyan grate his cheese? With a lawnmower! Yeah, I don't get why it was so funny either.
Granted I was unfamiliar with Paul Bunyan but from the Wikipedia enchanted weapons make sense as he's meant to do mythical feats of outdoorsmanship. I'm looking forward to the Cyberpunk challenge. I had an idea for a challenge run, while I've never played Fable and it might be more Nerbit's cup of tea but I did wonder; "can you beat the Fable Trilogy while remaining morally neutral?" This can be interpreted different ways; ending Fable III with the same moral score as you start Fable I with, ending each game at neutral, never doing anything to gain either good or evil points etc. I'll leave that to people who know Fable better than I do.
@@InsaneFrame Thanks, I hope Fable is fun (I know its on Xbox but it might have a PC port as well) and while I've heard it described as the world's easiest RPG I don't know how true that is and hopefully finding a way to avoid an extensive mechanic will be fun.
Here's an idea for a challenge. *Can You Beat Fallout: New Vegas By Swapping Weapons?* - Only allowed to damage enemies with unique weapons, and only allowed to use one unique weapon at a time. - When that unique weapon breaks, you have to find and use a different one. - Not allowed to put points into Repair or repair your weapons, and must take Built To Destroy (so condition drains 15% faster). - Cannot shotgun the story, which means you have to complete all the main quests in order. - Play on Very Hard + Hardcore. No companions. No Speech skill so you can't cheese things.
4:54 Interestingly, you don't earn any speech XP when you do so, so it's a way to make money without earning any experience if you're doing a challenge run that you want to keep at low level, BTW 25:45 thought you were going to go get a blue Riekling follower/pet lol
How would using the woodsman friend be "getting things out of hand" it has better damage yeah, but it has a slower swing speed. plus it honestly fits a paul bunyan character.
Ooo I got one, Can you Mod Skyrim Special Edition without getting a headache. Lol Jokes aside I got a special request to ask, If you can play the dreaded Minecraft can you play and try to beat a Modded pack called "Blightfall" It a modpack based off researching and purifying a world of Eldritch Taint, it likes to beat you up but I find it fun. It needs more Coverage.
Now I wonder if you manage this challenge without enchanting also looking forward to cyberpunk as I'm currently playing the 2.0 version and feels completely different from 1.0
Hope you guys like the video enjoy!
For the Next Can You Beat Fallout Point Lookout as Storm Will Jackson?
Could have used a bit of a lumberjack accent...
37:32 Rikke isn't actually the lady who ordered your execution, the lady from the intro is an imperial while Rikke is a nord, also if you go with Ralof you kill the intro lady in the helgan keep.
she was in sovengarde lol and got burnt there but left that bit out :)
@@InsaneFrame lol, if you side with the empire Ulfric and Galmar go there too, Ulfrics pretty chill about it but Galmar is a tad bitter.

This would be a good opportunity to make your character giant-sized as well XD
very true :)
Ooo, Cyperpunk! That's a new one, can't wait to see what crazy shenanigans happens when you start doing challenges in it!
15:58 if you count Reiklings, they're blue, but are more akin to goblins than animals
I did not know this I should've could've but bran the husky he is adorable

Great job Frame. Entertaining, and much scolding of those with ill manners!
Tea and manners are a must otherwise bran the husky will auto win he has powers from todd
Dude I love ur vids ur better than a lot of bigger TH-camrs that I’ve seen doing the same thing
Thankyou thats a huge compliment (bows out of respect)
My notification came late, I have failed.
That aside, thank you for the video!
Not at all your here and thats all i can ask im glad your enjoying the content!
love the video and love how u dont show the spiders.
Loved this. Shane there's no way to get the painted cows to follow you. They're not fully blue, but they are painted in blue paint.
Good as allways Thanks for the video brother.
I'm so surprised you haven't played the DLCs. Some of the best content in Skyrim IMO
Looking forward to watching this on my lunch break at work later.
You absoulte legend thankyou :)
Man these Skyrim challenge videos never get old lol
Share the same sentiment

Theres also the Poacher's Axe. Maybe a Shield Only or Wooden Sword or Fork and Knife run?
I’m still waiting on that water to fusion cores tutorial!!! I am waiting with anticipation my guy

Note to the author- always check what slang means in other cultures before using it. That said, as a Brit, sounds realistic.
ah yes you got the joke good sir
An Englishman playing as an American Folk Hero? How fun 😂

im not really a minecraft guy i wouldn't want to open that can of worms
It is very good video. One question tho... Can you beat Skyrim/Fallout as Kratos?
Don't worry this has been requested its going to happen after a couple of challenges
@@InsaneFrame Thank you.
Axeman time
matt welcome back buddy! :D :D :D
I hear Paul Bunyan and all I think is Paul Bunyan's where the food is good but not too good ay.
Nice work. Rarely used the Woodcutter's Axe period
Now I wonder if you manage this challenge without enchanting also looking forward to cyberpunk as I'm currently playing the 2.0 version and feels completely different from 1.0
Unarmed 2.0 im a bit nervous never played it so we'll see
@@InsaneFrameDon’t worry too much, you can get some busted builds in Cyberpunk lol, even if it’s just straight up unarmed
You should've modded babe into the game
I did try but thought a Husky would be a 2nd best option
@@InsaneFrame well, since it's an American folk hero challenge, John Henry next?
you didn't cure Serana 😮💨
i didn't actually know you could! this is news to me!
The Poachers axe can be upgraded.
Can you beat Skyrim as a begger
Yes this is a good challenge for sure :)
Wow I didn't think you would see this much love from across the pond :)
Dis is da wae! 🤣
The who?
