- Welcome everyone to another Xcom 2 WOTC challenge in this challenge its time to arc up the skirmisher and see what we can do against the forces of advent and the elders can we make it lets find out!

@@InsaneFrame could you beat Xcom 2 WOTC with only story characters meaning the OG starter squad plus the 1 skirmisher and reaper, the others you dismiss? it's a bit less challenging but I'd be interested to see if that's something you'd consider?
The special soldiers would be terrifying to fight. One is an unseen ghost that you only know is there because your friends keep dropping dead around you, another is a frenzied zealot rushing through walls of bullets to cut you with holy fervor and the third one is a former comrade that is so good at doing so many things that he feels less like advent and more like the Doom marine.
Like this summary they are going to have quite the wake up call with Commando/Trooper Joe
"One is an unseen ghost" I hate reapers so much. It claims to be a 50/50 chance of revealing upon a kill but everytime I do so it ALWAYS reveals them. I have genuienly never fired a shot with a reaper and not been spotted.
@@schnitzelfritzel6287 Yeah I don't use them to shoot things. They are the best scouts and spotters ever though. If your sharpshooters have line of sight they can pummel your enemies from the other side of the map. So they will never know what hit them.
Dahelmang is very right rather then use them independently the reaper is a support unit first and foremost the best way to use them is pairing them up with someone and either finishing or weakening an enemy but sharpshooter and reaper is a savage combo
The Mocx mod actually has enemy classes as enemies. If they actually do their actions they are very nasty. Honestly, Skirmishers are probably the biggest problem(Enemy Reapers and Templars are addons to the MOCX mod) because them ripping you out of cover is absolutely horrifying due to them usually having friends.

I'm going to have to re ring that bell. For some reason I missed the release of this video.
In preparation for the Templar, they are Tanks. Make them good at "Parry", beef up their HP if you can, see if you can get even more damage reductions and "Deflect" plus "Reflect" is good value for what you pay. Also the ability they have to make a clone of themselves "Ghost", is very nice as long as you can keep it around, aka not using all of it's focus up. Also also be aware the "Arc Wave" ability is amazing but if you don't pay attention you can accidentally blow something up you didn't want to blow up and damage/kill yourself. If you get a Templar with "Bladestorm", the run is almost won, rpobably and if you get "Impleccable" that is also pretty good.
Duuuude might have to play a templar before the star wars playthrough that class sounds so blooming good!

Trooper joe finishing the game with 1 health. He’s unstoppable. And very poetic
it took everything he had and he just managed to be the hero we needed (i hear he's in the hero suite at xcom paradise island)

The saturation fire on the MECs was so pretty!
And even when 2 of its intended habilities are bugged (Battlelord, the one you pick, who let you make an action per enemy action, and the special overwatch you let you do other actions instead). If not, the Skirmisher would be the most powerful class on par with the Psi-Ops. I do believe they see him like this and go "HELL NO" and bugged the abilities on purpose.
There is a mod who fix that issue, and also make Parkour a 15% change to get a free action per enemy turn instead. I could see why they though Skirmishers would be a little more overpowered.
@@SenseiRaisen honestly if serial with the sharpshooter is a thing battle lord would be the same thing but defensive it was a shame though otherwise skirmishers would be A tier not quite S tier but very close

I was half asleep watching this, and my brain decided that this was actually a brand new pokemon game. It was a very good game, very interesting to watch, but I have no idea where it got any of it from.
I guess sure! if it helps certain classes could be considered type advantages like ranger would be a fighting type excelling in melee

Though it may not be the most interesting idea, I would love to see a full run of a team of the specialist, or the survivors from these challenge runs. Maybe do it with a mod to make the game harder? Or, oh, a live stream would be neat.
I am thinking of doing 3 sqaud max difficulty plathroughs as a season 2

@InsaneFrame Heck yeah, it did. I'm doing a modded run right now, using a custom class with the RPGO mod. Current in-game date is like, six years after the run should have probably ended. But I have access to the Ripjack, since I can't live without Retribution anymore.
Side note, if you get around to the Templar, I recommend having them be Deadpool, with the covert operator being Hydra Bob.

Skirmishers are incredibly strong, especially if you consider that Battlelord should make them even stronger and only does not do so because of a bug.
The action economy you have with a Skirmisher is almost the best in the game.
@@GooberGoofy-lj5yd Sharpshooters have the best action economy then followed by the psi operative but skirmishers aren't far behind! (if battle lord worked yeah they'd be in the top 3)
This Skirmisher is the chosen one.
Trooper Joe became Commando Joe the minute the elders made a mistake and realised he was indeed the hero for XCOM!

Indeed it certainly has similarities to an SA-80 but railguns and lasers are all preferable!

I wish you could reroll the random skills on the the bottom using ability points. Sometimes, I'll get an entire roster with skills that are entirely useless to their class and it's frustrating. Even if it requires a building first that would be fine.

i love xcome but im not brave enough to do any challenges :)
it is very time consuming it takes a lot of attempts! usually anywhere between 60 -100 hours per a challenge

(Well is when they were called last I remember, they get buffs wearing the Alien Ruler armors)
we will be using a modded class in the next xcom 2 challenge and I hear the aliens are calling in their allies!

Would a run on the highest difficulty with only 3 soldiers, but starting with all Chosen weapons and Alien ruler armour be too easy for you?
Yes actually it would if I could run 3 soldiers wouldn't even allow operatives but can do that challenge on ironman if you wish
@InsaneFrame up to yourself man, you know what your suscribers want. I think it would be a bit of a change for you. Make the game as difficult as possible rather than limiting yourself.
will be doing class challenges in future as a group with 3 soldiers ironman and on legendary difficulty since it would be as difficult as a solo on commander

Any tips for the first game i keep geting annihilated lol
don't focus on armour go all in on weapons and also, think about action economy (how much you can get out of each soldier each turn), rangers are very good at dealing with sectoids

Why did you allow other soldiers to do covert ops?
as the rules stated covert ops are allowed but if ambushed they can only run away

@@lalalalalalalalalala-js5xl Because covert ops are not necessary to complete the game, it seems odd to bend the base idea of the run to allow their use.
@@Thundawich but without them the game is extremely difficult
My main problem with the skirmisher is that they don't play especially well with the rest of the team. Their unparalleled mobility isn't as useful if the rest of the squad can't follow them. They are still useful for getting from one side of the combat to the other to help out an out of position soldier but the other classes are generally better. Obviously, none of this applies to a solo run.
