Your words on mental health hit home hard as I do struggle with things due to circumstances that were out of my control. I have gotten help and continue to do so but just wanted to let you know that your channel, Aaud's channel, the Northern Mudlarks and others truly help soothe one's mind and to me are very therapeutic. I also follow Aquachigger and a few other metal detectorists as well as some bottle hunters and privy diggers. Its people like yourselves that do more than you will ever know in helping people in a fragile state. God Bless.
Thanks for sharing your potter friend’s work. Have you ever considered starting a second channel that showcases artisans work. You are a natural presenter with a generous nature. So many talented people that would love to be introduced to the world. I think it would be an interesting venture that you would be perfect for. Just a thought.
The permit system looks like it is being changed to suit certain groups. It seems most mudlarkers have a real investment in preservation and the have a love for the areas. A bit of meanness going on here
I really agree! Nicola is a wonderful presenter. A natural! She easily conveys knowledge in a way that mak a things easily understood. I think of each of her videos as a “mini vacation” with an artist and historian and preservationist. I have chronic illness, and it is so important for me to keep my focus on beautiful and interesting things so that I don’t get discouraged.
An absolute joy to join you in your adventure on the foreshore and with Adrian in his studio. Thank you for taking us all along and for enabling us to learn more about pottery.
Adrien’s pottery is spectacular. I am a newbie potter, and my mouth just fell open at his art. So very very talented. Please thank him for sharing his experience with us. 🌺🌸
You hit my pottery collecting nerve with your love of it and the outstanding interview with Adrian. I was drooling!!!! What a great potter, Adrian is... I love the fishes, all of them!! What talent... my husband grew up fishing, so we embrace the culture that is fishing!! From beaver dams, streams, rivers or oceans, where there are fish , we can eat! It's such a basic thing and Adrian has captured the essence so well.Thank you for sharing this with us... you're awesome!
Lovely stuff you found that day Nicola. Just been watching one of Si's digs in an old dump. He should bring you the broken blue and green glass that's no use to anyone except you ... for your fish. I'll comment the same to him.
Nicola YOU and your adventures are a "Tonic" for my mental health and it's always a pleasure to sit back, relax and look at my old homelands deep history buried in the mud, just waiting to tell a tale...
Thank you Nicola, for the lovely video, for all those people you introduce and for all the wonderful information you share with us, your viewers. Loved the pipe extraction, the coins, the pottery shards and that wonderful bottle! What would it have held? Wine, spirits or water? And thanks for showing us through Mr Brough’s lovely studio. I guess you’ve never, ever regretted the day you quit your office job for mudlarking! Look at all the adventures you’ve had, the wonderfully interesting places you’ve been, and friendships you’ve made. Your life must be just perfect now…..and to even have wild squirrels and foxes visit! Oh, joy of joys! I’d adore that!
