- Join my mudlarking friend Mark Iglesias and myself as we go mudlarking along the River Thames on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning! Mark shows me some of his incredible finds and I have to admit I'm in awe of them! Thank you for watching. Dont forget that if you want to try mudlarking you need a permit from the Port of London Authority. Currently no new permits are being issued. Keep an eye on the Port of London Authority website for updates.

Thank you for inviting me along on one of my favourite mudlarking adventures to date! It was a real privilege to finally get on the foreshore with you, considering that it is thanks to you that I discovered this beautiful hobby! Cheers Nic, you little legend! ⭐️
What an amazing collection you have. Im a little envious as mudlarking along the Thames seems like a dream to me. I've done it here in New Orleans but the sheer history that you all have in that area really seems to provide a bounty of finds. Keep up the hunt!
Thanks to your family for allowing us to come on a visit with you. I appreciate everyone's knowledge and enjoy their points of view.
Isn't it amazing that back in ancient times they had the amazing eyesight to engrave such tiny designs as the ones on the tiny blue cufflink. I always think of the lighting with lamps etc, and probably not many people could afford glasses , monocles or what ever. With embroidery , clay pipes etc. it's just amazing how talented and driven our ancestors were to produce such beauty that we can still enjoy and marvel over today.
I watched a documentary regarding mud larkers. I can't help but think when children were looking for something to sell the river was the sewage exit
@@patriotmem2645 Very well said and I agree wholeheartedly! Yours was such a nice comment to read!
This rewatch was amazing. Thanks to Mark for showing us such amazing finds.
Your nephew is so interesting to listen to! He needs a history channel!!
Yes, I was so impressed by his knowledge and elocution, could listen to him for hours!
"And you're no less beautiful for being broken." Always some bit of sage wisdom, Nicola! I know you meant that just for me, LOL!
❤️
Mark has an amazing eye for Tiny finds
GREAT sense of humour too! Do you hear that?? heeheee
A family that wears a stripe top together stays together💕
Your family is just beautiful. Mark is so lovely. What an absolutely wonderful day. Meryen is just gorgeous.
Thank you, it really was a lovely day and great to finally search the foreshore alongside Nicola!
Nice to still see a Nic White video show up on a sunday morning in new york state. Was laid up on my sofa for a few months after a motorcycle accident five years ago when your channel was reccomended by youtube, mini history lessons. Clay pipes forever, lol, it never gets old.
Thank you for video Nicola,I really enjoy your adventures on River Themse❤
My first mudlarking was actually as an elementary school student. My mom worked,so we had to walk to our babysitters house after school. The area had been farms, and then turned into modern housing. One or two of the old farmhouses were still there, and the sidewalk was right next to what was undoubtedly the trashdump. The old swayback fence had fragments of china plastered into the soil around it,and I would dig industriously into the soil to reveal them. The mud was hard clay, and there was no stream around, unfortunately, but there was a rabbit that would tempt me,and an apricot tree that had the tastiest little apricots on it,so,needless to say, there were plenty of adventures to sway a kid from the straight and narrow, and brave the scorn of going through "No Tresspassing" signs!
Mudlarking sounds like it becomes an addiction.. I know watching your videos is, also.
Been watching since lockdown 🎉
Well Nic don’t know if you remember but a watched you thru 2 knee operations, im now onto hip replacement. Keep the episodes coming! Love you and SI Friends!
ooh I hope you make a speedy recovery xxx
Your mom dropped a real knowledge bomb with that Guernsey Bean Jar recipe!! Extremely valuable knowledge… Thanks to her for sharing! 😊
The little clip item Mark found is actually a keeper from overalls. Blacksmiths, train engineers, farmers, any one who did a dirty job put them on and the strap with the keeper you found went over the shoulder to hold the overalls up. Cheers, Mark. 😊
I could listen to Marion talk history all day. He should be a professor some day.
My goodness! What an amazing collection of fantastic things, Mark! Thank you for sharing, Mark and Nicola!
Much appreciated!
loved this one! Marion is quite special & bright.
Lovely Sunday morning video, love Marks vibe!! Thanks for sharing your fascinating finds again Nicola!! ❤❤❤
Thank you!
That little bell sounded lovely 😊
Absolutely loved this episode Nicola - all of it. After seeing Simon find a crotal bell, and now Mark, I've concluded I reeeally love them!! And given that I was born in 68, he should send me both the button and bell!! 🤣yes, cheeky Australian me... Thank you Nicola, sending you much love xx Teresa 🇦🇺♥
I absolutely love cameos. I collect them. I would absolutely love to find one like that
Mark's a lovely man to return the dog tag!

What a lovely pal, and I loved the dog tag story ❤️. Also love how you talk to your finds, like the pipe. Thanks for taking us with you.
Nicola, I’ll be coming to the UK for the first time ever in August, and thanks to all your wonderful videos that I’ve been a fan of for years, I’ll be going on a guided mudlarking tour in London. I’m so thrilled that I’ll get to explore the foreshore for myself after years of watching your channel. Thank you for inspiring me and keeping me entertained with all your mudlarking adventures!

What an absolutely brilliant video Nicola! I loved it all, but especially the end where you visit your folks on the beautiful island of Guernsey. I’ve spent so many happy times there, both working, and having fun. It’s a magical place!

Youre a good man Mark. May the Gods of the Thames smile upon you. Nicola is the Goddess of the Thames she dont need no help!
ha ha thank you :) Im not sure about that - but it's very kind xx
Some excellent finds, nice to meet Mark and to see his treasures he has found, funny on the dog tag Endell St I use to work on that street
Yes! It’s Lovely! Very cool people! This video exemplifies why I love the UK; it’s literally awash with history. The United States is, too, but you should be learned and respectful of First Nations to retrieve it. My family is Anglo and Italian, so I think this is just magical.
Nice to ser Mark, Iglesias..following his finds on fb, and I have the same surname..My mum is Iglesias...so I am Garcia Iglesias..from la Coruña N,w Spain..Born..in Kingston..lived most of my lofe in Englefield green ...love finding anything with a story.
What an awesome video with such great finds. What a beautiful gift. It was great to meet your family too. Take care and thank you for bringing us along 👏🙏❤️🌻
So much to love about this video! First, your mother is lovely. All of your family is so nice and your nephew is darling!
I loved the finds Mark showed us. Especially the spoon handle and the pipe with the lovely woman. I would think the smoker of that pipe would have held that one quite dear! But, alas, I think his jealous wife broke off her head and threw her in the Thames! 😂
The tile Esme made you was very well done!
Thank you for sharing your life with us, Nicola. I hope everyone on your side of this screen is well and happy. Such a nice video!❤
I love this channel. So calming and I want to be a mudlark. I love the bits of history and cannot believe the exquisite finds. Fun fun.
Thanks Beverly. So glad you enjoy! xx
A Sunday with Nicola"s 3 "f's" friends, family and finds what more could you ask for.....it was cool to find that Mark was inspired by your videos as a lot of us are but he was able to go find some history of his own where as most of us don't have access to mudlarking ...so we get to enjoy it through your videos...thanks for sharing your love of history with us...Karl from eastern Canada❤❤❤❤😃😃😃😃
Wow, pretty cool, and it's a family affair too! Really cool, I definitely look forward to your videos every Sunday. Have great rest of the week! ❤️
Mark has a great attitude and sense of fun! Great to see him get you to chuckle!

It was great to see your friend Mark at the Thames with you. Many amazing finds for him and all of the finds he brought to show you Nicola. I really enjoyed your little lark with your family especially your mom she is so sweet and a beautiful woman. Peter seems really nice and yes I remember him at your house. You have a lovely family Nicola, I’m glad you get to see and spend time with your mom. Have a fantastic week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

Looks like stripey tops is an inherited trait...lol. love it. Your the best.
Amazing to see what Mark found!!😊😊😊
Lovely episode. You definitely resemble your mother. 🇨🇦
Lovely Sunday video, Nicola. Spending time with family is a great thing and doubled by spending it at the beach. Mark seems like a wonderful friend. He found some beautiful and interesting treasures. I thought your bartman shard with the bright blue was a fantastic find, so intricate and beautifully decorated. Thanks for the upload. The mudlarking videos from my favorite mudlarks, you and Simon, make my boring laundry day much better.
Like your pipe at the beginning of the video, all of us have broken bits. And we are all still beautiful in spite of it! If you're feeling down, know you're not alone. God bless!
An absolutely amazing video Nicola !!! Wow, the beautiful treasures that Mark had found were stunning !!! I loved the clay pipe bowl of a beautiful woman, that darling little bell of which I have a little bell similar to his & it is open but the long points were bent inwards just enough to keep a metal ball inside & that's what makes the jingle sound !!! It looks very old & I got it at a thrift store. Loved his Cameos & the two tiny round blue 💙 glass (?) & the two stampers !!! All so cool 😎 !!! Your pipes too Nicola !!! Wonderful seeing you with your family again !!! Your nephew is very smart 🤓 sounds like a professor & love his soft voice. Enjoyed your video. Much love to you Nicole from the USA ♥️🤍💙 !!!
Thank you 🩵
Thank you x
My favorite girl,hi Nicola, wow love that you are with your family,I saw your mom and dad long time ago,now your nephew and sis.Your mom so cute.love your nephew he takes after you.
These old stories, like the one about the dog tag, really are exciting, aren't they? Can you imagine getting something in the mail from one of your ancestors that some random person found and took the time to research? Thank you and Mark for sharing it. :-)
What a wonderful keepsake, Esme.❤😊
A French Napoleonic War Button! In fabulous condition!
I love the Guernsey footage!
Your mom is an absolute delight, made only more delightful by her menu for the evening, the salmon, new potatoes, broccoli, and asparagus spears.
Salmon is never complete without asparagus.
Well,Capers,too.
Marks favorite finds are incredible!!!
Just 5 years of Mudlarking,he’s got a really good eye,I salute him.
Int thing:
I had no idea Bartman pottery had such a viraety of color,I always thought it was that salt glaze color.
It’s really a faience glaze,in a way…
Enjoy the rest of your Summer,Nicola!
How sweet of Esme! Thank You, Nicola, you always make my day😍
Beautiful video as always. Your heart is so bright, it ozzes out through your words and energy. Thank you for giving us some of your light.
❤️
This was fascinating. What a great storyteller Mark is. It makes you realise just how random life is. What is the possibility of finding that dog tag and reuniting it with the family after all that time? It makes your spine tingle, doesn't it........?
How cool is that dog tag story! Marks collection is epic.
Wow! Mark is the facebook admin & now we got to see him on the foreshore working his magic. He has stunning historic finds. It was a total pleasure to see them & hear the history. Thank you so much Nicola & Mark.

Love Guernsey, such a beautiful place. Lovely way to end your day 🙂 Fascinating info about the Sphinx!
Wow what a wonderful video! So good to see a healthy forshore! Mark, Marion, Tamsen, Mom and Dad, what an interesting group to surround yourself with. So pleasant and knowledgeable about things in history. When your Mother mentioned the salmon, it brought back mental pictures of the outdoor barbecue you had shared with us. Be safe and have fun!😊❤😊
Terrific Thames Lark 👍👍👍 let’s goooooo Nicola 🔥🔥 yep yep yep 🤩🤩🇬🇧🇺🇸
Lovely to see Mark with you on the foreshore. Mark is one of the friendliest and knowledgeable mudlarkers I have met. I think I have to plan for a visit to Guernsey in the near future. Sunny greeting from Germany!

Thank you for your fresh outlook and positivity 😇
I envy those who do mudlarking. I'd love to do it myself, but I have a problem with my back n I need a wheelie-walker to get about. Every time I think how I'd love to do something like this, I'm reminded about my back. Lol.
I missed you last week. Your weather is just beautiful. I love it when you find the old pipes. As well as the pounded coins, medieval coins, and the little tiny finds.
Oooh Nicola, we have some eye candy in Mark this week !
😆
Nicola, lovely us usuall. I adored the tug story; I think that maybe there was another tug with only the name of the dog, on bigger letters. Cheers!
what an absolutely fascinating video!! Loved every minute of it, thank you both. And Mark is an an absolutely amazing and wonderful chap and I love his enthusiasm it really is inspiring! Everything that you find has its history, it belonged to someone and had a purpose and can tell a story as the dog tag proved.

Great finds on the Thames and on the shore with your family. Anita is looking so well! It was nice to see Peter with his daughter.
