- Super Fab Mudlarking Finds to end the year! Which one is your favourite?! This has been a superb year mudlarking on the River Thames and my last outing of the year rewarded me with some surprise gifts! Also, as it's Christmas, I roped in my family to help make this video a super fun one!

And don't forget that if you want to mudlark on the River Thames you need a permit from the Port of London Authority. The PLA are currently not issuing any new permits so keep an eye on their website to see if and when this will change.

My Christmas Eve was looking lonely as my friends came down with Covid... and at 79 my family is long gone... but... happy surprise you shared your lovely family with us, and I don't feel lonely at all. This was a wonderful gift. Many thanks to you for a year of good (dare I say it?) clean fun.❤
My daughter and husband did too, the day before Christmas eve. Their children are so sad. So are we.

What a fantastic surprise from Nicola on this Christmas Eve! A new video featuring almost your entire family. The finds were excellent, as always, but the real treat was getting to meet your sister and niece, your daughter, Grace, and your Mum and stepdad. I second the idea of painting your tools. We prefer orange duct tape on our gardening tools. I have come across dandelion diggers in the yard in the spring that I assumed were lost in the garage. Since the orange tape, we have fewer losses.

I think they were flattened so they could be stamped with the traders mark or initials

Just came across your videos. I think it is amazing that someone can find things from centuries ago just walking along a river. I am in the USA, right next to The Great Lakes, Lake Michigan specifically. While we have our own treasures, it would be more likely to find Native American arrowheads than antique pottery. It is great to watch and experience walking along a river without freezing and getting muddy. My home would be more cluttered than it is if I was walking there. Greetings from Wisconsin, USA.

As always, I enjoy your videos Nicola. My favorite find is a pipe. You've found thousands, but I do cherish them the most. They're the everyday item of the masses. I never smoked but my hubby did. Its an item of the people. I would love to have one, someday. Before people could read & write they sang, madrigals. They were the songs with the fa la la la la. You didn't need to read to join in.
