    Thanks so much for all the closeups and going over every detail. I am considering chopping the rear frame for the same purpose and this is the first time I've had a chance to see the finished product. Thanks so much answered so many questions I've had for a while

    Easy for most folks to not appreciate the massiveness of a 42" tire. When one stands beside it and the hood is head high one then is impressed. While this build is absolutely awesome in person, it's real strength shows out on the trail. It's growl when working up an obstacle sounds more like race day than it's humble start. And Eric can and is not afraid to drive it!

I would like to ask you if the rubicon 2014 manual transmission will I also need to program the computer if I put 37 tires? in your opinion which is better for off road manual or automatic transmission? Thank you very much and greetings. Fermin

    Is that final ride height, or still tuning? I ask because it's sitting on the bump stops, which seems counter productive to driving on rough roads. Jeep sounds and looks killer!

    • @merczeph79
      @merczeph79 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does look a little low for final ride height.

    • @rockyour4x4
      @rockyour4x4  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rwills42 it is at ride height in this video. In its current form it’s set up for about 3 inches of up travel and the rest is down travel for crawling in our area. The bump stop is a little inboard of the coil over and the coilover when articulating will bottom out at the same time the bump stop bottoms out.

    • @jessebryant8641
      @jessebryant8641 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rwills42 This jeep has a good amount of anti squat with the rear crossmember set up. While that lifts the vehicle while pushing the tires down under acceleration, it works backwards when in reverse. When this video was taken it had been backed into the position you see here. So it had sucked the suspension down a decent amount. At true ride height it has about 1 inch of gap between the bump pad. Here on the east coast that is plenty to absorb or terrain.

    • @rwills42
      @rwills42 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jessebryant8641 as long as the owner is happy with it, then great build. Thank you for clarifying.

    Why the VVT delete? And why did you decide to go with automatic?

    • @rockyour4x4
      @rockyour4x4  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ralph Muro VVT delete for dependability
      Automatic since there wasn’t a manual option that still had cruise, ABS, and traction control with full function with the can bus. You can downshift and up shift with the steering wheel controls (not shown in the video).

    • @arnoldgrabski6436
      @arnoldgrabski6436 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The GM lifters collapse after a while and make the motor run like shit. People replace them with solid lifters so they don't run into issues later on. The newer engines use the hydraulic lifters and special valving to turn off some cylinders on hwy cruise.

    • @jessebryant8641
      @jessebryant8641 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aarnold Grabski The lifters are swapped in this engine. It has TSP Cam,VVT delete, Lifters, chromo push rods, PAC high lift valve springs, CAI, CATs delete, then some custom tuning. Runs hard and is reliable

    • @greentp99
      @greentp99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the responses. My build has a 5.7 Hemi VVT motor with manual. I am always interested in why people make their choices. I can tell you that while I love stick shifts I think the v8 experience would be better with an auto.. plus I probably would have went up one more gear size if I had a tranny with more legs... current setup is sitting at 2500 rpm at 75mph on 40s and a 4:88 ratio. It took getting to the 40s to being the Roma to respectable level 😉
