have got an o6 mk 6 transit inner outer sills chassis etc rotted away took me 5 weeks to weld it ldv much better van on body work the maxus is much better van

Terrible and noisy to drive and low geared. The V8 was pretty good. Terrible driving position also. Most have vanished it really is a tarted up 70’s Van.
These are rumoured to be pretty shit, to be brutally honest space is grand but there very loud and awfully slow and that's probably why I've never seen one in reality

What really killed this van wasnt soo much ots design it was its underlying 74 Sherpa chasdis, fine until about the mid 80s but by the mid 2000s oh fk what were they thinking? It shoulda atleast had an updated chassis by the early 90s. Also the Ford banana di engine wasnt a bad unit but they shoulda atleast put the turbo intercooled version in, bit of a step back from the XUD.
Proper van: basic, slow and noisy, but they were cheap to run and easy to fix. That's what matters if you're interested in making money, which is what commercial vehicles are for.
The world of commercial vehicles has changed with the new Transits and Sprinters they're designed to survive 3 years of abuse anything after that and they start falling apart and look real shitty with rust.
If you compare one of these to a vw transporter the difference is unbelievable these vans are not fit for purpose slow noisy horrible to drive worth about £500 brand new
was in germany with one in 99, everyone took photos of it, great van, better than the 90s transit by far

These are everywhere. They tend to outlast the equivalent Transit. They were actually a lot quicker than the equivalent Transits of the time.
