Is this the only combo in world where the cone doesn’t rust? Or is that a factory option?

I had one for years did about 150k miles in it and the last place it went rusty was the wheel arch, he knows nothing

i had 5 of them and all had the isuzu engines only problem they had was head gaskets other wise their bomb proof, the only vauxhall engine they fitted was the 1400 petrol engine, for some reason only the astra van was fitted with the vauxhall deisel engine and the astra cars had the iszuzus

Yep, my gran had the Astra F 1.7 Turbo Isuzu engine, and I think the whole car was one of the best she ever had.
I know alot of people don't like the Astra F, I never understood why.
It was leagues ahead of anything else in 1991, and that diesel, not only was it quick but it was bulletproof.
Never gave us the slightest bit of bother.

Bollocks the Izuzu engine was far better and bullet proof, i had 50mpg pus on the old 1.7 izuzu and the body work never let me down, this man, and im a Vauxhall mechanic is talking absolute bullshit. The Vauxhall 1.7 was a crap engine.

He's talking utter pish about the Isuzu engine.
My gran had the Astra 1.7 TD and yes it was noisy, and abit unrefined.
Maybe abit heavier on diesel not usre.
But it went like shit off a shovel, and she never had the slightest bit of trouble with it for the years she had it.
Even all the garage mechanics said that's the one everybody wants in these.
    Great motor.

Izusu is the better engine, their so good people take them out and use them in all sorts of off road buggies and jeeps, Allso used in small boats

Yeah, I came back to this vid (why post up in 2014 about the ancient Combo B?) to say Brian Morris' engine knowledge is worse than his dress sense. That Isuzu engine stayed unchanged but with a 16v head to become GM's circle L 1.7Di, DTi and CDTi (the only common rail diesel of the era you could rely on). GM's Vauxhall diesel was a heap of junk. I have the 1.7Di; unrefined, not so economical, a bit ponderous - all those things but "loads of trouble"? Where'd he get his stats from?

Engine ran forever but bodywork and electrics were shocking.....also windscreen washer bottle was too small.

The diesel engined Combo's were much more popular than the petrol engined ones.

Combo's rusted really bad on the roof pod.

Mileage scam. I believe we had a car that had been clocked. Not good, we were
puzzled why the engine died at such low mileage, but did it?

the same as an opel combo and holden combo

He makes out the Isuzu engine isn't great! He obviously hasn't a clue. I suppose he'll say the fiat cdti engine is bombproof next! Lol

vauxhaull engine and electrics are utter rubbish, the Isuzu is the best giving me around 40mpg in town. I've had the van for over 15 years. He's missed out the pod rusting away first. Some parts about the wing mirrors is correct but I think he's not talking from experience about much else.
