Yamaha YC88 - Updating to Version 1.30 - Sound Demos

In this video I show step by step how to update your Yamaha YC series keyboard to firmware version 1.30 as well as demo some of the new sounds that come included with this update! I love that Yamaha is releasing updates for this keyboard with new sounds and functionality.
My favorite new sound included in this release is the Felt Piano...beautiful felt upright sound addition to the Yamaha YC's already great piano sound lineup!

Glad you have the YC! Been following you when I was thinking of getting the Nord stage 4, ended up with the YC so now looking fwd to this series

Nice Board!! I've played a Stage 3 a couple of times, and to me the YC is better than the stage in many regards but the Nord still retains a better piano library - and the Synth section ofc on the new Stage 4 is miles ahead. One could argue that true FM is the only thing going for the Yamaha. They could amend it by letting the user to upload FM sysex (custom FM sound settings programmed elsewhere)

I appreciate the demos with the new OS update; this and the prior 1.2 update really added to the versatility of the YC series (I have a YC61) overall in my opinion. After the first YC88 video you did, another commenter indicated that a closer Nord analogue to the YC series might actually be the Electro (instead of the Stage 3/4); they’re certainly closer on price. Would you agree?

I think this keyboard is more to be compared with the Electro. If we compare with Stage, it's difficult for him.

@@DSoundman I've updated to 1.3 but whether I play through my K12 or my JBL studio monitors, I don't get the "brightness" that you do, and I'm listening to you with the same monitors. Hmmm...
