  • Percolation pits plays a major role in maintaining the ground water level. Mother earth without human habitat and cities has her own way to absorb water. Now humans have covered the earth with our structures, buildings etc. Hence percolation pits are necessary and easy method to recharge the water table. The video explains the simple steps to get the best results. Enjoy watching.

    Need of the hour...very nice video....but while city corporation is doing storm water drains on road side...why it is made of full concrete and also no weep holes are given....
    Where as earlier drain floors were not concreted. Why such method used in storm water drains...these could also serve as percolation pits to improve GROUND WATER right??

      Good suggestion. Sir. Normally vertical weep holes needs annual maintenance like removing silt, blockage etc. This is a tiresome process. Instead the entire drain length can be without concrete base, if there is any blockage the required length can be cleaned, which the authority does it regularly every year. If these pits are done in every plots specially apartment buildings, schools, office complex etc the city flooding can be avoided to a large extent.

    Hello Sir,
    Easy and effective technique🙏
    Is there a way to percolate the rainwater collected from terrace top if plot has black cotton soil so as no to disturb building foundation?
    Thank you🙏💐

    In a plot of 30×30 can percolation pits can be made before/ after constructing a house... If made in what size and where it can be made..

    Sir, how far this has to be from building foundation/basement..?

    • @waterislife-rajendrakalbav2004
      @waterislife-rajendrakalbav2004  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sir, the distance from the foundation depends upon the type of the soil and the dept of the pit.Normally we suggest not less than 1m for a dept of 2to3 feet in a normal granular soil. In black cotton soil or slush soil these should be avoided. We discuss further🙏

    What is the issue with percolation pits on water logging areas such as paddy fields especially when it is rainy? Can it not be used as the escape route for water ? For water logging area what method do you suggest to recharge the ground water, bore well recharge method ?

    • @waterislife-rajendrakalbav2004
      @waterislife-rajendrakalbav2004  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. In water logged areas, no method of ground water recharging works. As the area is filled with water, like a filled lake or tank it cannot take excess water.. When water resides beyond a feet from ground level, recharging can be continued.
      Now a days some people are doing injuction well ro drive away the excess water on roads and drains.
