Had some time to troubleshoot the Bluetooth. Turns out the Bluetooth side of the Intel M.2 card was faulty. I replaced it with another card and it worked fine. I measured the Bluetooth range and have added it to my benchmarks. It was 9m or 29.5ft. The best result so far.
I love your shirts and this one's my fave haha ✊ Nice looking model - the Z300 not you! I'd be very interested to see what next year's budget CPUs can do for these fanless minis, please keep us posted! Great channel.
What people don't often realize is how much noise a typical desktop/mini-tower system actually makes. The easiest way to experience the change is simple; TURN IT OFF. And then sit there and enjoy the silence. If you are surprised at how much noise the machine makes, then get a mini-PC and go from there. A fanless is even quieter, but fanless systems do suffer from heat issues; sometimes noticeable, sometimes not. For instance, I had a Dell mini-tower that had been running in the same room for years - non-stop; never turned off. I purchased a Mini-PC to try it out; but left the desktop powered on.. After about a month, I decided to power down the desktop, and was really shocked to hear how much noise was coming from it. I've only powered it back on to pull files from it; but I always end up powering it back down; I enjoy the quiet.
Thanks for another great review! Do you believe it has sense to replace Minix Z100 with Minix Z300 if it's used only for web browsing, playing videos and music? No games at all, no video/graphics/music editing, etc. Will it behave much better while viewing web pages in multiple tabs, or the difference would be almost not noticeable?
Nah, the N300 only offers a modest performance gain over the N100 that won't be easily noticeable. Typically you need something at least 200% faster to notice a real difference. Something like Minisforum UM690S for $US407 makes better sense. Its close to 200% faster for 25% price difference.
Hi Rob, I hope you’re doing well! I’m in the process of deciding on a CPU for gaming and I’m torn between the AMD Ryzen 5 6600H and the Ryzen 7 4800H for my mini pc. Do you have any recommendations on which one would be the better choice for gaming?
What bios settings would you change (if you can) to keep temps down? 98c is really hot to run at max. Would want to strike a balance with more performance than an N100 but not that hot.
Got a 7730u from Aliexpress in a very hefty radiator case that's basically one solid chunk of milled aluminum. Runs all that's being thrown at it, though sustained loads and 3d games do cause significant heat. Great solution for when you know that PC will be used in environment that will clog fans or simply will not have anyone doing regular internal cleaning.
At least once yea. That one was potentially a single employee causing problems. However if you get a new PC reviewed or not, it's better to update windows get the key or sign-in to link it to your account and do a fresh install.
Not that great at all and for quite a high price. When you can't get Bluetooth right then is spells trouble and if this big heatsink still can't control temps then you know that quality control is lacking.

Don't replace it unless you play games and video editing, I think. From the review, there should be no noticeable difference at all.
No real reason to do that if you don't need the boost. Wait for a price drop or failure.

No, you're all good.

Thank you all for your answers, I'll stick to the Z100 then :)
Thanks! Wow you quick! Looks like a decent one for me!
Great review 👍, should be quite possible to put a slow 120mm fan on top for extra cooling if you really want to.
Make it a bit thicker so that the CPU temps isn't near 100C if you live in any place which isn't Winter, and this could be a fine system.

Haven't tested the 4800H, but gaming performance should be similar to the 6600H.
Just do a youtube search. There are videos comparing such.

A 5W reduction to the power limit should help quite a bit, but not sure on the hit to multicore performance.
@@Robtech Ah bummer took a look and on my bios in the Z300 no ability to change PL values
What kind of temps did you see on this cpu under more moderate loads like video playback or streaming? (I'm thinking as a jellyfin server/htpc)
Similar to the gaming section. Around the 55C mark
@@Robtech Thanks! Not too bad. I don't really plan on pushing it too much. Just wish the idle was same as N100 at 8w

You're using Malwarebytes. Are there Mini PCs you've encountered Malware?
I believe an Acemagic batch had an issue earlier this year. The company corrected the problem.

With $50 more, this one beats Z100 hands down due to 8 cores and better iGPU.
4:46 i like how Lux using her Ult for a single creep 🌠
DDR4 /sadpanda. 😐
Yeah I had a double take when he said DDR4 😅
