- Beekeepers are stewards of their bees, caring for thousands of these fascinating insects in every hive. Knowing if your bees are ready for winter and whether they may need some extra help is part of being a good beekeeper. We'll cover how and when to check your bees to know if they have enough honey to live through winter, and suggest numerous options for feeding solid food during cold weather when giving sugar syrup is not possible.

Excellent information!
Very informative, thanks
Thank you
Nice information!!!
It is important to point out bees can eat their way past some honey stores and leave some below. Depends on cluster size and random bee behavior. Opened one of my hives and found they had eaten their way up and a circle into my sugar bricks, but now the cluster wasn’t touching the bricks. I just pushed the bricks in and over the cluster. The food was there but the cluster wasn’t touching it.
nice video!😁
I found a Bee on the ground on a delivery I was on, and I picked it up and brought home. I gave some sugar water, and it responded well. I set it free in the backyard and thought he was going to be free, but 2 weeks later, I found it again on the ground so I put it in a large container and fed it some sugar water and again it recovered, but now I don't want to set it free due it's too cold. I need to know what I can feed it besides 50/50 sugar water. Thank you
Thank you I live in Iowa
