Thats right, the top piece stays in place but the cheek pads and interior pad (around the head and back of neck) can be removed and are available in different thicknesses
I guess its towards the bottom end of their range. But all the essential parts can be removed, all thats left is the very thin lining on the top of the head which can be sponged down. It’s a different interior layout to a lot of helmets
I hate wearing earplugs when I ride. But every helmet I've ever worn has needed earplugs due to wind noise. Does anyone make a quiet helmet that doesn't require earplugs?
I hate riding without earplugs. I can't understand the problem with those. You can still hear everything, only that stupid windnoise is way less disturbing.
It’s too bad Arai designers are still stuck in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s with their ideas. That plastic piece on the side of each helmet covering the shield mount looks so chintzy. Shoei is the benchmark- have been for years. Even HJC has surpassed Arai in styling.
It’s a signature look I guess and it helps with the ‘glancing off’. Arai concentrate on making the safest helmet they can and the styling is, i guess of less importance. I like the minimalist look of them, there is something simple and elegant.
I was thinking, that looks good, price a wee bit high but ok, it's an Arai...what, liner isn't removeable?! Poor form Arai. Even my £299 Shoei RYD has a removeable liner. Arai are clearly losing sales because of that head shape thing and this was an attempt to rectify it I reckon...but not with cheap tactics like that. Try again me old cockers.
Those new visor openers are ridiculous. I don't think pressing it does anything. I just grab the plastic tab on the visor and lift it over the lock as I did before they made this useless flippy thing.

My head measures 60cm and this is a large. I have now ordered one in Modern Gray as well as a thinner helmet liner. The stock one is 7mm and arai make one at 5mm. Just to give me a bit more room
@@mancavemoto thanks a lot. I think my head shape is similar to yours and your review made me buy Profile-V. I am waiting to be delivered. Can you please tell me where to buy those liners in the UK (if you are in the UK)?
I found this more comfortable than the RX7, probably my next lid.
I agree, the RX7 is really a race lid, so long term comfort and noise reduction is less important in the design.
You're a 60cm head circumference same as me, was that an XL? (60-61cm) model?
No it was a L 59-60, I tried an XL (which i've seen as a 61-62) and it was too big. I'm right on the top of of Arai size large, but i've bought a modern grey one of these and am waiting for the thinner 5mm liner to come back into stock which will help. The helmets not too tight, I'd just like a bit more room.
@@mancavemoto you ever getbthe 5mm liner? If so, how was it? I just got the helmet and it has a 7mm liner and theres just a slight pressue, im bald so it leaves a mark as well. Did the 5mm liner help with the pressure?
What do you think about the hjc rpha 11??
I've not tried one at the moment, so can't offer any opinion.
Can I fit a Cardo Packtalk Slim???
I don’t see any reason why not?
Did I hear right?
The interior is not fully removable?
Thats right, the top piece stays in place but the cheek pads and interior pad (around the head and back of neck) can be removed and are available in different thicknesses
@@mancavemoto that's weird for a premium helmet. So the upper part can't be washed properly.
I guess its towards the bottom end of their range. But all the essential parts can be removed, all thats left is the very thin lining on the top of the head which can be sponged down. It’s a different interior layout to a lot of helmets
Is this the same as the Regent-X coming to the US?
Yes I think it is, I don't know why Arai choose different names for the UK and US helmets. Very confusing!
December 2019
I saw it on their US website so I would say yes.
arai is the best, but i wish they would make modular helmets too
yes, unlikely, but if we do i certainly think we'll see that before we see a drop down visor (this will never happen)
Are these any good for people who wear glasses?
I’ve tried sunglasses with it and they work fine
"V" ? or '5 '?
V
"V" is an internal factory coding. For the US, we use "X" which is "X" and not 10.
Thanks Scott, yes to add confusion isnt this helmet called the Regent X in the US?
When’re we going for a ride Tony?
Are you at the Bike Shed Fest this weekend?
Views from the Man Cave no
@@jayalexander8027 Lets sort something out then, I might have something a bit more interesting to ride in a week or so
Views from the Man Cave definitely mate. I picked up my new bike last month as well
I hate wearing earplugs when I ride. But every helmet I've ever worn has needed earplugs due to wind noise. Does anyone make a quiet helmet that doesn't require earplugs?
Yeah! Audi, Fiat, Ford, Mercedes...
@@RebelRDX Fiat? - no, still needs earplugs...
@@mattseaman5397 lol you got me there haha
@@mattseaman5397 And the Mercedes V8, nah, scrap that, you want to hear that one
I hate riding without earplugs. I can't understand the problem with those. You can still hear everything, only that stupid windnoise is way less disturbing.
I love the face shot when you’re riding. How’d you set that up? Very impressed
Its just a go pro on a mount directly above the speedo of the bike
Yep, almost rip my ears off putting on my X4. Only thing I don't like about it.
Same here
Round, medium or long oval?
Cheers.
Intermediate oval
@@mancavemoto Like Shoei.
Thanks.
Your X4 just looks too small (size) for your head ...
I guess it can, but it’s not, it’s spot on. Just shows how much easier the wider opening makes the Profile to put on and off!
Might be worth mentioning that this is arais only current round-oval shape in the range in the U.K.
According to Arai it’s an intermediate oval?
My normal question...chin room?
Pretty good, the best of the Arai's i've tried and I would put it about the same as a Shoei RYD
@@mancavemoto Thanks Tony, I have a Ryd now, marginal for me and I cut 5mm away from chin area!
did you just say Arai Dynamics, classic.
Yep I stumbled over the words Aero and Arai were mashed together 😂
Arai is the only helmet that doesn't fit my head shape. A shame because they seek the best quality.
yep a shame, but they are not for everyone. I'm the same with Bell
Not sure where you are located, but we have three shapes in the US market. Round, Intermediate, and Long Oval. See your local dealer.
The skull cap and cheek pads are removable, which to be honest doesn't leave much left in...
@@mancavemoto Ah, I didn't realise the skull cap came out. That might be a goer then - thanks for clarifying Tony
@@BN1960 no worries
I wouldn’t wear anything else.
Same, always owned an Arai, tried others over the years but always end up keeping the Arai, great comfort and ventilation worth the extra money.
Araidynamics...
i'm suprised they havent stoeln that phrase from you
for the algorithm
Thanks
Those new visor openers are ridiculous. I don't think pressing it does anything. I just grab the plastic tab on the visor and lift it over the lock as I did before they made this useless flippy thing.
It does seem 'over engineered' tbh
the cheapest aria ever
In the UK we also have the Debut which is even cheaper at £329
