I wonder why in your rating in the material section, Quantum didn't score the maximum number of points. Arai is not only the sole helmet manufacturer which uses the SNC2 fiberglass material (which BTW is stronger by about 40% than the standard fibers used by other brands), but also, Arai helmets are made in one-piece molding technology. It means that individual EPS layers are not combined like in the standard production process used by other well-known brands, but are formed as a "seamless" one-piece cast.
I've had the quantic for 2 months now and I'm very content with this helmet. The only downside is that it's a bit heavy. My HJC RPHA70 is considerably lighter. The arai however is more comfortable and has a more quality feel to it. I would recommend it.
@jason dabs That used to be the case up until a few years ago. Arai has lowered the visor pivot location and the new models such as the RX7-V get a 5 star SHARP rating.
Thank you for your question. Sport-Touring helmets are designed for longer rides and comfort and, almost always have an integrated sun visor. Race helmets are designed for racing and the focus is mainly on the weight and aerodynamics!
Hi Tarik, The Quantic performed way better on ventilation and was a little more comfortable compared to the Profile-V! On the other parts they were on par, so we can say that the Quantic came out stronger in our Road-Test!
This helmet is without a doubt the loudest helmet i have ever owned, im gutted i paid a fortune for it. Im currently looking at the GT air because i don't think i can use the arai as a primary helmet anymore.
@@V4demon_ yeah, i had tried on in the shop for size, I wish it was as quiet for me. I have a £150 duchinni helmet that is very, very quiet compared to my arai Quantic. No i ride a 6th generation VFR800
@muaythai1814 lol I've got a 6th gen VFR 800 as well, I do have a double bubble screen on so I don't know if that's helping. I was riding for 2 years with Large helmets, a Bell and a Ls2, went in and got measured, turned out im actually a medium, and this fit like a glove, so comfy. How strange how it's different for us. I went in thinking I would walk out with an AGV, but this was just leagues above it in terms of fit.
@@V4demon_ yeah, i have a puig double bubble screen. I have heard that this helmet is a large fit and tongo a size down, so i think my last ditch effort will be to purchase cheek pads for it. I have a wind jammer currently fitted as of my last ride out and that is helping
@muaythai1814 it could just be that tad too big then, you'll easily find some different check pads etc that's just say 10% thicker, might make all the difference, i was surprised that the medium fit me so well as I'm so used to Large lids. Just fitted a black widow exhaust on the viffer a few weeks ago, so chuffed atm. They sound glorious!
Hello Soulia, all the helmets we have mentioned in this review and road-test are all great sport-touring helmets. But if you want the best of the best the Shoei NXR 2 is your helmet. This helmet performed the best when you look at the helmets without sun visor!
All I can say it to try both and see which one suits your head the best/comfort first and evaluate the other features (noise, ventilation, design etc) later
Arai has developed their shell shape to be as round as possible to make sure that no point of the helmet catches in an impact and to ensure that the impact forces are more equally distributed across the helmet's shell. This is also why Arai use their VAS-V system (since the lower mounting allows for a rounder shell shape) and why they include vents in their visors.
I feel like with this helmet I sense a lot more wind inside the helmet compared to a shark spartan, especially around the ears. (With all vents closed). Like it’s not really well sealed. Is it just me or did anyone else notice this?
I don’t have the gt pro, just the spartan carbon version. I would say the arai has a better quality overall, but you don’t have an integrated sun visor
You can either get an additional tinted visor and swap between them or get a pro shade system. Arai doesn’t make build-in sun visors because of safety + shape of the helmet doesn’t allow them

What is the difference between race and sport-touring helmets?
The ride position which has the least drag will be different. For a race, it will be full tuck and for a sport tour, it will be more upright.

What are the outer shell sizes? Does S have the same outer shell as the M or XS?
Arai offers 1 outer shell size for every two helmet sizes. So XS and S have the same outer shell!
So the helmet is already safer compared to normal helmets because it has a round shell?

How does the neckroll work? Do you zip it open and put the cables in or do you put them underneath?
The Neckroll is made store excess cable length in the neck roll without affecting comfort and protect the inner liner!
