You know what, I got goosebumps when she sang “at the end of 29”. It made me realize I listened to the original song when it came out in 1979. I remember thinking that “89” was still ages away. And here we are, 40 years later, and I’m still feeling like I’m the 11 year old I was then. Time is a weird notion. Happy New Year everybody :) I hope the next decade will be less egocentric, and less everything-fobic than the last.
We are the same age, and it is still as relevant. And being huge ABBA fan I can say this is just as good as the original.
I was ten years old way back in 2010. I vividly remember thinking 2018 was forever away. Now I'm almost 20. Something tells me that I'm gonna have a lot of that repeating in my future.

I know this song from the 1999/2000 version with the historical images from the 20th century, which made it seem meaningful. As the century progresses, the situation has deteriorated in many respects, and the year 2029 holds no charm for me.
God knows I'd happily take a vacation in 1989.

This is such an underrated ABBA song. Loved the updated "end of '29" lyric which has taken on a whole new poignancy.

Great song for the first day of 2021
Well, I've been following your channel for sometime now and all I can say is that your voice quality is becoming better than ever. Never mind the hateful comments, I have to bow to your dedication in continuing to churn out these videos, I know that they're a lot of work and having to consider make up and wardrobe and other small stuff just makes it all so much harder. Just making all the differents Anne's sync is a major accomplishment.
You look very happy and that made me happy. Hard to believe this song is 40 years old already. Happy 2020 Anne.

rogue42bdf I understand your point about candyman but I disagree. What Aguilera did with was very unique and done very well. Even though it is technically a cover, it is still quite unique in how she did it. I think Anne is talented enough to do great job. Having said all that, I hope she does walk like an Egyptian with the 4 part vocals and instruments. It would also be cool if she some how worked the big, frizzy 80 s hairstyle but I wouldn’t fault her if she didn’t want to. 😀

I am a big ABBA fan, I know I have said this in a previous ABBA cover you've done, and I gotta say that this was excellent. The cloned singers were at their sassiest and dare I say a few were flirting with us too? When I heard you sing 'twenty nine' I actually giggled as that was a great addition to the song by you. The Bass Playing clone might just be my favorite tho, female bass players are automatically HOT!
