This update on Jasmine was so beautifully crafted, David. The effort gone into this couldn’t be topped.
I’m also glad we also got to see snippets of her ‘Evolution’ from the hormonal teenager phase to the more tamed but fiery Milf stage.
Even though she went through components like a Big Block on gas, James is a soldier for keeping the Ol’ girl road going as long as he could.
It was refreshing to her that’s she’s in good hands and in retirement, but one day, hopefully, she awakens to cause mayhem on these streets.
She is my #1 favourite car you have reviewed since I came across your channel in summer 2014. 🥹❤👏🏼👏🏼

I really appreciate this style of video. It's a great juxtaposition between your typical reviews which are very entertaining, these almost interview type story videos like this and project Kitana are more laid back feeling but still very content heavy. Excellent replay value, I hope you keep up with this style in addition to the reviews!

What a walk down memory lane indeed. An maybe a odd question, but if not for Jasmine & Nessa which vehicle or vehicles that you've reviewed do you think would've launched you to near the same degree? Which vehicles do you view have had the same level or near level of viewer success that you've reviewed? Like what else do you view as really promoting you & the channel? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that. Surely, everybody who's ever allowed you to review their vehicles deserves monumental credit, so hats off to all those magnificent individuals

That first car you drive that makes you go wooooh......it's like a drug. You chase that feeling forever.
I've watched you since Jasmine David, and you deserve every bit of success that came your way. Your videos are one of 2 channels I have set notifications for. I never miss one.
You embody what us car guys are. We develop relationships with cars they are not just a ton and a half of metal , plastic and rubber. They are part of our lives, I've made major life decisions on long drives in my modded cars. Me and my wife met at a car meet. I still own the car we met in, the car in My profile picture. I'll never sell it I don't think because it holds that memory for me.
Cars for us car guys, are an allegory for life....sometimes in life we have problems, just like modding cars but it can always be fixed and usually better and more powerful/stonger then before. It just takes a little work, time and patients and it'll all work out.
If you keep making your videos I'll keep watching em. And that invite to Australia still stands mate.....my brother and I have added a few more to the stable and happy to let you behind the wheel for a review. Just let me know if you ever make the trip.

David I'm so glad you re-visited this story. I have to thank you for uploading these videos of Jasmine, and Nessa as well. Your first Jasmine video was the biggest inspiration to buying my own Evo X and it's been quite a journey these few years. I've always looked back on these videos (And Nessa too, because I ended up getting an Evo X not an Evo 8), whenever I started loosing faith between transmission rebuilds, a lifted head, and turbo installs. I always came back and watched these videos over and over. In a way, it kept me going, and it kept me wanting to finish my dream build. We're nearing 600 horsepower now, the car is still running and the journey's not over yet.
So for all of that, I have to say thank you, and keep up the great work.
    Thanks David,
    Thanks to James,
and thank you as well, Sean.
And everyone else that was involved in these builds and videos.

When I was around 11/12 my dad called me and said "come here there are three guys with weird cars taking photos"
He worked in an old sugar factory here in a small town in Greece called Xanthi
I went there without knowing what to expect and I saw an s13, an s14 and a type r ep3
The Silvia's where both red with the s13 being almost completely stock and the s14 having only bolts ons. The type r was a beat making around 750hp
    I talked to them
I got a ride with them
And since then I dream of having an s14
That day I knew what I want in my life and that was to have my on project car and being with friends that have their own
I'm 27 know but that is still a dream that trying to make it in reality..

This was a fantastic video. To answer your question, the biggest impact any car has had on me was the first time I drove an S2000. I had just started getting into racing games, vaguely knew how to drive a manual, and I asked my dad about driving a rear-wheel drive car. We found a great S2k, drove out to the dealership, and I got in. It was the perfect location: A small-town dealership surrounded by small, twisty roads. I drove for a bit, and had no clue why he had picked it -- I was completely underwhelmed by the driving experience: It was smooth, clean, and refined, but it didn't have any energy or excitement to it. Then, he leaned over a bit and said, "hey, why are you keeping the RPMs so low?"
I took the hint, stepped on it, and a second later I understood exactly why people love that car so much.

I had a close friend who had an older friend, almost like an 'Uncle', with a blue blobeye STI. It was so cool with the wing and gold wheels. I was probably 15 at the time and we lived about 10 minutes outside of San Francisco. One day, the 2 of us were hanging out when he came by to pick us up and take us into the city. He then proceeded to rip this STI up and down Hyde Street, (a really steep street in SF) literally catching air, all 4 tires off the ground, akin to launching your MX bike off tabletop jumps. Looking back, it's crazy that he was willing to abuse his car like that, not to mention how illegal that was to be doing, but as a car enthusiast, I'll always remember that day. I too remember watching the "Jasmine" Video years ago and being really impressed by that car. Long live Jasmine.

Now 3 years later I’m on my 3rd motor in my eg hatch which is almost ready fully built css motor hoping to make 700hp by summertime.but I still remember the car that made me fall in love with civics I’d say definitely changed my life in the sense of my trajectory into cars and spending my life away lol

Jasmine was one of the few reasons Evos always stuck out in my head. I bought a Subaru when I was 20 because I thought it would be a bit more enjoyable, I took one ride in a friends Evo 8 and it was over. I bought my first Evo almost 2 weeks later, loved every second of it, even the parts breaking. That car got me through some rough times. I took it from Hawaii all the way to North Carolina, work got too busy the car scene around me all of a sudden wasn't so fun. I had to sell it. here I am 3-4 years later, looking to buy another Evo to fill that hole in my heart and mind, and this video comes out while I happened to be scrolling through the for sale pages. Weird how it all works sometimes huh?

Jasmine was one of the first videos ive seen from your channel and i've been here since. and watching this video and hearing you talk about the first time you ever drove something over 500hp hits home for me as well. Last year I met a few guys from a wrap shop and one of the guys has a 800hp GTR, like many people, The GTR is probably my favorite car of all time. Fast forward a few months after and a magazine needed a couple cars for background for some model shoots, this was on a sunday and on that exact day, the shop was having a little party, the owner of the GTR didn't want to go to the photoshoot but had agreed to have the car at the location for the magazine. Well since he didn't wanna go and the car had to be there, They figured they would ask someone to drive it there and back. At this point I was pretty good friends with them so they did simply go "Hey we need you to drive the GTR to a photoshoot" I was speechless. Now, I'm the type of person who doesn't like to borrow things or use things that I do not own or can not replace if I break it, so I was very hesitant at the time. I knew this was probably my one and only shot at driving this car so I agreed. Driving to the location was a feeling like nothing else. I drove it very consertively as it was not my car and I had a sense of responsibility over it. I probably only did AT MOST 70% throttle on it and as you described, that first time of you being pushed into the seat and that rush, something I will never forget.

Hyundai never offering an AWD veloster is such a crime. I think it’s what always held the platform back, and sadly always will.
Which is infuriating because the 4GFJ T was used in an AWD drivetrain for years.
All they had to do was swap the rear floor pan to the Tucson’s and they could have made a truly fantastic platform.

The car that changed my life was the silver 06 GT convertible mustang rental that mom & dad got by accident while vacationing in Nova Scotia. The guy in front took our suv rental. Dad loved the body style cause it reminded him of his white 70 mustang convertible auto with the 302 back in his 20’s. Dad got us up to 125mph before backing off thinking “might not be good if we kill the whole family”
Ever since then, I’ve been a mustang fan. Best friend had a 2011 5.0 CS manual with the glass roof. Loved that car and it was the fastest thing I’d ever driven until I rented a 2021 GT.
Look forward to more track racing content. That was sweet af

I graduated college in 1988. I was taking a job moving from Indiana to South Carolina and needed a car. My dad and I went car shopping and I really wanted a new CRX Si, but I was also a BMW fanboy. We found a 1985 325e in Diamond Schwartz, two door, sunroof, 5-speed and real leather sports seats and about 36k miles. It was $14400 and back then that was a lot of money, but my dad encouraged (he wanted to say his son drove a BMW 😅) me to go big, so I did. That car went 250k miles and I loved every minute of it. I miss it to this day, especially the smell of the leather. Have never gotten into a car and smelled it since.

Awesome story. Back around 1988 I ended up at this party that was hosted by someone I didn't know and had never met. I drank way too much and the owner of the house, Jeff, said me and my friends should crash in his basement, which we did. I remember having breakfast with him all hung over as hell and found he was a real cool guy. He was co-owner of a salvage yard and I had ever only seen him drive an old pickup truck. About two years later, 1990, I was hanging out at his house and a female friend of ours said "Jeff, why don't you take Darren for a death ride". I was like "WTF is a death ride?" Jeff asks me to follow him to the garage and he opened the door. Sitting in his garage was a 1987 bright red Corvette. I knew this guy two years and I had no idea he owned anything but his old pickup truck. When I say he drove it like he stole it, I am not kidding. He was doing 120+ which was crazy back in 1990. He weaved in and out of lanes on the highway, barely missing other cars bumpers by inches. He passed several people using the brake down lane and then slammed on the brakes and fishtailed onto an off ramp. I was never so scared in my entire life. But I had also never been so excited in my life. That was the moment that made me love fast cars. I am now on my second Corvette and will hopefully be upgrading to a third within the next year or so.

A 2011Camaro SS2 but this happened in late April of 2015 I was in 7th grade and my uncle was gonna buy this used Camaro but the bank denied him but he got to test drive one it was a dark maroon red with frost white automatic 2011 Camaro ss2 and he surprised me at the bus stop I was freaking out running out the bus because I wanted to look at the car not knowing he was in the Camaro and he rolled the window down told me to get in I got in and this Camaro had the nasty sound chop and clearly a modified exhausted but I wasn't complaining because of seeing and hearing the real thing in person my ADHD was full tilt so we ride around a block and got a little wild burned rubber & reving it but I enjoyed that ride and I hearing the LS3 screaming and I think that day is when I fell even more in love with cars and I will never forget that day

There was this guy who owned an Italian spot in a small town and he had a Twin Turbo Supra with a sequential turbo kit (one big turbo, one small one) installed and riding in that car had a lasting impression on me ill never forget. He only pushed it to 130MPH on the highway but I had no idea you could go through that level of force in a car. It never even seemed real.

My friend showed me your first review of Jasmine when I was in high school I instantly fell in love with Evos because of Jasmine! Jasmine is the reason the Evo is one of my all time dream cars! I can’t afford an Evo right now but maybe one day I’ll get my hands on an Evo! As of now? I’m focusing on buying another one of my affordable dream cars, a Scion TC hopefully once I get a TC I’ll have the same feeling I had watching Jasmine

17:59 the biggest car that affected my life. The first car that ever made me fall in love with Toyota was my 87 Toyota Celica she was turbocharged and I loved every minute driving that car. Unfortunately me being a young kid at the time every time I would street race I would show off by popping the hood and telling everybody all the work that I did to the car and unfortunately she got stolen. Now I drive a Lexus ES 350 from 2008. She rides smooth as shea butter but I would literally trade that car for my Celica back. Unfortunately nobody ever took care of those cars and I never was able to find one in decent shape where I didn't have to dump a ton of money into it. Maybe one day now that I'm 42 years old. I'll have the car again but as of right now that is still the car that changed my life.

"The Beast" my 2006 Ford F250 4x4 Diesel 1089 RWHP 1824 ft lbs I have never ridden in a car like jasmine but I kinda feel like my truck is violent like that, especially when it's a big 3/4 ton truck meant for towing IT SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE THIS FAST!!!! Yeah sure she's a little bit different she's got a few quirks She has her own personality but this thing is a Monster her top speed isn't super high but it's how stupid fast she can get to that speed in a heartbeat I absolutely love this beast that I have bonded with. I don't think that I will ever be able to let go of this thing

Does james have a youtube channel? Did I miss the shoutout because I couldn't find the link either.. Normally that would be in the show notes if there was one.. James, Thank you for your service, and for sharing your car with david who could then share it with all of us. The car has now reached legendary status.. I really hope it's in a driveway, maybe in a climate controlled garage and not in someone's backyard under a tree wasting away... or even worse totaled in a junkyard with her parts pulled for other projects. 😢
