Looking good! I was wondering what you were talking about with the red wires, but then I saw that you painted the block black. Without the contrast of the red on black the wires by themselves make no difference. Major performance upgrade right there.

I'm guessing that cost was the driving factor behind that particular engine choice? I would definitely have wanted to go with an aluminum or even one of the magnesium-overcast aluminum blocks from BMW if I were going through all the trouble of a more modern engine swap on a car like that. Anything to add lightness without impacting usability and curb appeal. Iron blocks do have the benefit of accepting quite a lot of boost before they explode, so there's that, I guess.

Are you a trained mechanic ? I'd shit myself trying to put a motor back together unless I had like a year and guidance.

You are hanging a m20 in a e10? That is actually a not very smart thing to do. It messes up the whole balance of the car and it becomes like a sluggish handling car. You see mainly younguns doing this because of lack of experience and only wanting more power.

Not too worried about the extra weight. Reality is these 1960s cars kinda drive like poo anyways so may as well make it fun to blast around town in. If I want to go rip twisty mountain roads, I have other cars that do it better

I wish! Too much work and not enough time to get 2 episodes out per week
