Excellent! Thank you!! I had just been thinking that I should get rid of my Firman generator because it requires too much mechanical know-how to keep it working. You've given me something to try instead. Now if I can just find a solar version of charger/trickle charger. Thank you for moving your hands for this one! 😄
The best way to keep your generator battery charged is to run it.
You'll keep fuel moving through the system so it doesn't become stale oil, keep the magnetism in the alternator and circulate oil onto the moving parts in the engine.
By just tending the battery all that means is that the convenient start will still work
Thanks, Tim! I just hooked the SAME charger up to my Duromax XP13000HX because of single digit temps headed to Texas for the next few days. I'm now confident that when I flip the battery switch and hit the start button, something good will happen. I appreciate your videos.
I’m about to go and get it myself. Had to use pull string to crank my XP1300DX
2019, major snowstorm and power out x 4 days. The battery on my Generac whole house jenny did not start up because the weekly cycle test is not enough to bring the battery to full charge. I had broken my shoulder 2 days prior. Thank you for this tip, Tim.

I recently discovered my 3500 batt was crapped out and thought about installing a maintainer on the new battery...
Have you had any issues leaving it plugged in at all times? (Except when detached and in use...)
(I picked up the cheap maintainer from HF the Cen-tech 59000...)
Not at all. This one has been plugged in for six months the other maintainer I got on amazon has been plugged in for three years

I know this old but my predator 3500 battery died won’t hold above 10volts when not in use for an hour. Did they sell replacements at HF or where did you get a new one
