A garlic-like odor might come from something like old coconut oil or residue on tools. If everything was fresh and clean, try letting the soap air out a bit longer-scents can change over time. Tell cure time?
Sure… I typically let the batch sit untouched for 4-6 weeks. The cure time is the loss of water weight. Thanks for your question 😁
