- The kids and I were on Spring Break, and had been planning a trail run for quite some time. This area of the San Bernardino National Forest looked promising- it is less than an hour away from our house, and I had never been here.
We ended up finding some great views and fun trails, and I learned that it may be time to upgrade my camera gear.
Thank you! Been living up here in the mountains for over 5 years now and had no idea. Will definitely check it out. ☕️
Have fun! It’s a cool little trail, especially after the spring rains.
Gonna check this out on Saturday. Thanks for the video!
Let me know how it is- I’m guessing the winter storms have made it a little sportier than last year!
@@rohrsoutdoors ended up going the other weekend. The beginning was a little rutted but was a super fun trail
@@ethanmay5667 Nice! I might try to run it in the next week or two, thanks for the report!
There's a spot where you cross a bridge and There's lots of rocks by a little creek/river nice place to camp out.
That's where we usually stop for lunch, the river is really peaceful.
Looks like you guys had a good time! Thanks for making the vid!
Thanks, we had a blast!
I am posting a video of the full trail run soon, all the way to Highway 38. Hope to see you on the trails.
@@rohrsoutdoors 🤙🤙🤙
You should go over there now!
Is it open? They closed most of the trails off due to the rain for a while.
@@rohrsoutdoors yes, the rain did just mess up the roads a lot!
I might have to make a trip then!
Always a good time through 1N09 🤙🏾
For sure- we went four times that week! It’s been 20 years since had been in that trail, can’t believe it waited this long.
That was a main road in 150 years ago
Very cool, I did not know that. Wild to think about people on horses and carriages on the same path.
Mind telling me what car you were driving? It seems to have really good shocks though
A Toyota FJ Cruiser with an Old Man Emu
3” lift and suspension. A little stiff at first, but better after a year.
I would have held that iPhone for you! 🙄
Let’s get out there again!
Great video I just recently googled that place and it said it’s permanently closed. Is that just the shooting areas or the whole place along with trails?
Just the shooting, due to fire season. The areas are open, but target shooting is not allowed. Hunting still is.
Do you think it’s currently open with these weather conditions?
I do not. I would definitely call the ranger station. They often close them after rains to prevent damage to the trail.
Did you have to air down for this trail? Looks mild enough to not do so
Nope! Easily done without. Trail conditions change (obviously), but this was a well serviced road.
