Trout Fishing Pleasant Valley Reservoir | Mini Jigs and Carolina Rigs Early Winter in Bishop, Ca.
New Year's Eve, 2024 found me fishing the Lower Owens River for a slow but steady bite on trout. With only 10 fish to show for a day and a half of fishing, I decided to spend the last hours of daylight at PVR. A sunset bite found the fishing going of, with fish constantly rising and exploding out of the water.

    • @rohrsoutdoors
      @rohrsoutdoors 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are several things that help get bites when fly-lining live baits, especially if the fish are not biting full speed 1) Light line- #20 fluorocarbon is harder to see, #30 braid helps the bait swim easier. 2) Longer casts get the bait out to the fish that are holding away from the boat. 3) Picking a good bait that swims away quickly. If the bait doesn’t swim, it’s time for a new one. With the sardines, change baits frequently. 4) I like ringed hooks for live bait. It may not make a huge difference, but every little bit helps.

    I miss my FJ cruiser 😢should had never traded in. Now they're all 2-3x what I had gotten it for. Got a Jeep WK2 diesel now so I'll be hitting some of the trails (articulation nothing compared to the fj for the rockier trails) once I fix this clunking noise in my driver front

      @@rohrsoutdoorsyeah at the time I had to move further away from work and I couldn't keep up with the fuel expense because that thing gobbled up gas pretty quickly lol but if I ever come across one again (that I could afford) I'll probably go back to it. So is this trail more on the side of where lytle creek? I live in Lake arrowhead and trying to find easy trails to test out my wk2.

      I was actually on Bailey Canyon today! Yes, you should be able to navigate the terrain. Be aware the brush gets pretty tight in a few spots- you will definitely be getting some scratches.

    Bailey Canyon is one of my favorites when I just want to get away for the day, there is a couple of hidden little offshoots on the trail to park and relax in relative solitude if you know where to look. If you don't keep your head on a swivel you'll drive right past them. Right now I have a 96 ZJ and a 91 Sidekick, on that trail even in the Suzuki I'm guaranteed to get pinstriped.🤣 It was a cool little video and you got a nice rig to do it in. 👍

      hi I'm in San Gabriel Valley with a 97 ZJ that needs love -- my previous mechanic gave up on it and I am interested in finding someone "from the old days" who knows how to work on 'em. Do you have any suggestions for a mechanic? At 225K miles I am down for the whole rebuild or replace, there's no other rig I'd rather have so I wanna find a way.
