- In this video, we take Goose's 2018 2 Door JL Out for a day drive up in the San Bernardino Mountains. We visit Slide Peak, Bear Creek and visit a Yellow Post Campsite. We had a blast and can't wait until we can go out on a multi-day trip after the restrictions are lifted. Enjoy the video!!!!

The washed out area seen in the video is at: 34.18440, -116.97984. To avoid this area altogether, you can just take the southern route seen on this route...it was much easier. No avoiding the pinstripes though. LOL

The pistriping is a real thing lol. I had the same worries when I just started. Like you said, a couple more trips and everything will be fine.

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. The pinstriping always sounds worse and looks bad right after it happens. But, by the time you get home and wash it, all that anxiety quickly turns into memorable moments. It's like nails on a chalkboard to some people.

The Yellow Post campground was located at 34.18398, -116.97730. Getting to the Yellow Post campsite, as I recall didn't require too much, if any, pin striping. Enjoy!!!

Looking for some Off road clubs that's not all Jeeps, I have a 86 K5 Blazer and Ram 1500 Mega Cab. I just feel weird being the only Non Jeep. BTW, Love the Video!

Nice looking easy day trip. One thing I find most you tubers do that I find a bit annoying is when the audio goes back and forth between music and narrations the volume for the music is often way louder than the narration.

That sketchy road has been cleared up since then took the 20 4runner took the sketchy part then few months later it was cleaned up but the pin stripes are still there lol 😆

Maybe...trail conditions vary greatly season to season. His best chance is during the summer when there isn’t any snow or mud, and provided he has 4WD.

Which map layer are you using to see the yellow posts in Gaia?
“Satellite with Labels”. They don’t always show up, and sometimes only at a certain level zoom can you see them. But in this particular case, I can see it.
How long, time wise, does it take to get to bear creek from the start of the dirt road?
I don’t quite remember…but maybe an hour’ish.

Not that I’m aware of...just the one we stopped at on the way down to this spot.

Hi Adrian - I can't really say with 100% certainty, but I think there is a very high likelihood of successfully navigating these trails with a 2WD, provided there was decent clearance. Have fun and be safe!
Are these sites open ? I see online a lot are closed including Joshua tree.
Yes...Most of the Yellow Site campsites are open, as referenced directly from San Bernardino National Forest Website in this area. For example, see this link: www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sbnf/recarea?recid=34161
