The day comes for all of us. So many people are opposed to switching to Old School because they don't want to "start over" but I felt the same way before I realized that getting like 60 slayer on OS with a dragon scimitar and slayer helm made me feel really accomplished. Like way more than RS3 had made me feel in almost a decade. So much so that I didn't even mind starting a HCIM right there and doing the whole thing again and surpassing that first account. Way cooler than literally any RS3 goal that my brain could conceive. I just be looking at my herbs and stuff. Y'all don't know.
I also agree lol the last 3 years ive done over 35,000 clues total and fully maxxed my accnt. None of that really felt quite as accomplishing as osrs. Just rushing MM1 on my osrs felt so cool. Where as rs3 just doesnt giv you the satisfaction. Too much devaluation in xp and with necro out pvm is just not interesting anymore.
While sunk cost fallacy in either time or money or both on rs3 is a big reason I agree I think another big reason and perhaps bigger reason is how many people actually don’t understand how much content snd qol osrs actually has added to the game. I was one of them and it literally blew my mind. I mean I watch jimmy, settled and many others so knew about a few quests and raids etc all that stuff but I mean the very small stuff you don’t even realize unless you actually jump into osrs. Like all of the things you think you won’t have in osrs that rs3 does but it has them snd more like all the tertiary skill item holders like seed bag, gem bag, plank box, etc etc then things like how helpful rooftop agility courses are because back in my original main I had to train at wilderness agility from unlocking it to 99. Idk I couldn’t ever go back now because osrs has all the nostalgia most people are wanting from runescape anyway then the QoL it has the content to keep you the community is infinitely better or at least the ransoms you come across are just more likely to talk tk each other and things happen where in osrs there isn’t a ton of chat going on besides a few hyper specific locals. If I would have known just how much OSRS has changed for the better I would have switched ages ago.
I've been playing OSRS for almost a year now since I stopped playing RS3. It's been a great experience to return to the feeling of when I was a kid while also being a completely different game.
I always feel a bit of pain emotionally when I log in to RS3 which is something I barely ever do. I’m just reminded of the good old days when I see my old bank again set up just how I left it. It makes me sad to see my character, the same character that ran around in RS2, now stood behind pop-up windows for MTX 😢 I love OSRS, may it stand strong as a bastion and haven for old fans of the game.
Yeah brother I totally understood how you feel it’s exactly how I feel as well and it’s the same for me I left my bank an exact way where I was skilling back In pre EOC and it’s totally changed forever it’s definitely nastalgic loging in
This is the same for me. RS3 sadly optimises the downfall of gaming in the pursuit of profit. I remember when they rolled out the Squeel of Fortune and just knew the game was doomed. Thankfully OSRS has redeemed it for me.
Tbh I quit osrs to play rs3 last year and Im enjoying it because Ive maxed a main and iron both on osrs and I got burnt out on my gim so i was just looking for a new experience and Im really enjoying rs3
Yeah RS3's easy levelling due to MTX doesn't feel great, but keep in mind that Ironman accounts don't have access to any of that which makes a huge difference and is probably the best way to play RS3 if you enjoy earning things and engaging in the game's mechanics
why would anyone care if someone pays money for xp boost.. play ur own game and have fun ive played less than a week and i have combat 72 and toital sjkills 689 grindeed some quests, got 27 hunter keys in 1 day. anyone paying for those keys is stupid lol... if anything "mtx" is more likje skins and stuff... cosmetics even bank spaces hasnt been issaue for me.. the paywall comes when u want to go beyond Rune gear tho. also i get hunter keys randomly as well, no idea where they come from, playtime? random proc? i literally spammed magic lamps on skills i feel like is hard to level , like Prayer or skills i dont care about, like Cooking ; ]
To me who has been playing Runescape since like 2007 I have just preferred RS3 over the years. When EOC dropped thats when I took a long break because i didnt like the update. Took years to finally start playing again really. I had played OSRS a pretty good bit and got some 99s and enjoyed it. But then once i finally came back to RS3 and got used to it I was hooked. Ive just played the old style of Runescape for so long the exp rates were just insanely low and I got 99s when it was super slow and I dont have time to sit there for so long just to get 99s ha. RS3 still takes a long time to get 120s as long as you dont buy a bunch of keys of course. And I feel I wanted to continue progress on my original account.
Yeah, this is pretty much my story as well. Started in 2006, quit for a good amount of years when eoc dropped, started os back when they first rolled the 07 servers out, tried my hand at rs3 again but couldn't understand it/didn't get used to it so I quite again for a few years. Got back into it, understood it, and now I main rs3. Definitely feel you on the last part, I didn't want to abandon my og rs account so I said fuck it and just kept with it.
@@MrSadisticLoner Same as you two. Although late game pvm is really turning me off. I kinda started runescape because it was so chill and EoC has evolved into something a bit too much. Prayer flicking + full manual + dps rotations + gear swaps + etc; just isn't fun for me. Unfortunately with RS3 there's not a whole lot of other content to do. Minigames like probably half the content is just dead nowadays.
I think people are too dramatic over this. I'm maxed xp on rs3 and I play osrs as well. There's just a lot of cope and bad coverage by youtubers just showing the "bad" aspects of the game imo. It's not only about mtx or the combat system, there are a lot of QoL and insanely good content to be explored. I definitely think you're missing out on not getting the quest cape and exploring the game in general.
I would honestly argue that osrs via runelite has WAY more qol features. After playing again rs3 for 3 years then starting an os accnt i was shocked by how much more qol runelite has vs rs3 with alt1. And with necro being way too op and skills training themselves in your sleep practically i just dont see much reason to continue on rs3. Im also rank top 100 for hard clues on rs3
@25Jake it doesn't. I finished all the quests on OSRS and have min 75 in all skills, and many over 85. When I log on it feels like there's nothing to do. Get bored of standing there grinding XP at a bank, and think "what can I do?" Well, I've already seen the entire map and done all the quests. We don't get many quests and area expansions, and like 75% of the game is exactly as it was in 07. I played all this stuff 15 years ago, and played it all again getting my character back up to level in OS. There's simply just not much to do in that game if you're a long time player. All the new content and features go to rs3. Osrs simply just feels empty and boring after almost 20 years of playing, while RS3 is fresh and filled with content. Especially since I've spent most of my time on OS
@vitt27 Rs3 feels like an MTX circus. Sure there is "good" content, but it's not enough to offset how many bad aspects there are with rs3. There is no cohesive game design for rs3, it's literally there to be monetized. Rs3 is monetized in like 10 or 15 different ways, on top of a monthly subscription. Rs3 is kinda just sad, and basically only exists anymore because of the sunk cost fallacy. There's a reason that osrs is a far more popular game.
It's not really "too dramatic" when the guy lowkey disses the entire playerbase of a game lol😂 you do realise that saying that osrs is "the way the game is meant to be played" is extremely toxic and condescending towards the many many people that will continue to "play the way it wasn't meant to be played". Otherwise sure, play one game, play the other, heck play both, - both are great ;)
I’ll break this entire video down. You like osrs better than RS3. Play what you like my dude. That’s what we all do. Sure I could migrate over to osrs and start new. Then buy a bunch of bonds and sell them on the ge for roughly 7.5m each. Use that gp for supplies. It’s like using keys.... Cept you get to pick what your reward is? Mtx- it’s everywhere.
Shhhh,we don’t talk about the fact you can also buy your way through osrs. You get less per dollar so that makes it better somehow :D Ultimately if your primary issue with RS3 is MTX, play Ironman. If your primary issue is EOC, then use revolution, if you don’t like that, than ya, RS3 is not for you and there is nothing wrong with that. It’s just dumb to blame MTX as an issue when it is an issue only by choice.
@@LegDayLas facts, i got on osrs because my friends were clowning on me for playing an mtx game. I literally logged on, bought enough bonds for 2 buyable 99s on osrs and proved to them that i can buy my way to the top here as well.
respect to anyone who leaves rs3 for osrs sad rs3 needs this lesson to learn we dont accept this id literally play runescape 3 from scratch on a genshin impact server for 60$ and no membership if they allow it or heck make it 120 one time pay buying your way to the top doesnt bother me its the markets that jagex ignored for years letting bots basically ruin the game and if they were to poll a economy restart when the game is near dead im voting yes
I like many other players am seasonal. I quit and return often (to both osrs and rs3) Every time I have ever returned to rs3 it has been on my Ironman account. Find it hard to justify main scape when I get so much more enjoyment from iron.
Honestly I don’t see the appeal of old school. This coming from an original classic player. Rs3 is an actual mmo with great bossing pve thanks to dynamic combat which doesn’t exist in old school. I’ve enjoyed rs3 on and off since evolution came out, never paid to gain anything, it’s just a better game with less unnecessary grind and way better combat engine. I think the greatest appeal to rs3 is the bossing and questing available. Players like the video creator don’t seem to play for the combat, they play for arbitrary levels and pixel graphics on their wardrobe.
i do understand the nostalgia for us oldtimers and missing osrs. but to me, runescape has always been a game i believed in- and i've always been in love with the new GRAPHICAL updates to the game. Sadly I could never return to osrs, because rs3 has become such a beautiful game with its amazing graphics. The mtx however is indeed a big problem, and has begun to be all over the place in the game, and it is truly sad to see it. My best tip for anyone in the same boat as me, that can't let rs3 go; avoid any mtx related event and content, you'll have a much better time playing.
I've been playing RS(3) since 2006 and I've never feel compulsed to use any MTX, apart from daily treasure hunter keys, so I don't understand why are people making it sound like you are forced to use it. You can play it the way you want and simply destroy rewards from Treasure Hunter if it's so bothersome.
Would you make video how many karambwanji and karambwans ironmen should go for? and also maybe add in it a bit of miscellania ironman guide to help a bit easier to make choises (herb max is rn what i got and mahogany is the half way) and how often you should go check on resources and make favor back to 100%
As a new player who started as a ironman on runescape i was enjoying it the skilling part till i tried combat this is what ruined the game for me with all the skills and such really made everything much difficult for me to understand i only lasted a week sadly. Now i started Osrs as a ironman and the skilling is fun to me just like runescape but man the combat feel much better cause it's a lot simpler to follow and something about the graphics gives it so much charm not to mention the music is so awesome i feel like lumbridge ost will always stick with me nowadays. I been playing osrs for about 4 weeks now and im still loving it i use to look at this game decades ago thinking i never play something like this but now its a game i been playing everyday for hours and not to mention ur guides been my go to since i started osrs which helped me greatly I was a bit lost at first but now i kinda grasp the game and seeing myself grow as a player feels so damn good i always tell myself im glad i never started a main cause i would of skipped a lot of content cause GE with the money i been making lately.
I love rs3 pvm, main reason I keep playing, its fun crafting efficient rotations and getting very fast kills They already released the quest leading to Vorkath last week, takes like an hour to complete And we're getting Vorkath next month, lets hope it is good :)
No one ever quits just little breaks throughout your life lol. OSRS is producing some really good stuff lately and I have been bouncing back and forth between the games. Just like any game you play once you get to the end of it you feel this sense of accomplishment but also this realization like is this it? Is this what Ive been spending all this time working for? Its bittersweet. Its all about the journey
I quit. I played 2002 to 2018, almost had 200m RC. also quit OSRS after I had a firecape and barrows gloves after 1 month. The only game I play right now is competitive Overwatch in mid Grandmasters. MMORPG's can ruin your life in multiple ways if you aren't engaged with work, or relationships that are meaningful. and the real addicted people sacrifice those things. A few hours a day is all you need really. my memories of growing up on RS will never die, in my mind, its considered the best game I've ever played. there's too many people who either take it too far, or don't know when to stop.
How long will you quit for? No offense, it's a good game but even I take months in-between my short sessions. I play only for the memories, so necro or dxp has nothing to do with it. X to win the game I say
i think for any sort of longevity in this game you need to play an ironman. Progress on a non-iron feels so cheap and fleeting. Getting my first subjugation drop on my iron gave me the same rush as getting my zuk cape on my iron. Every drop on an iron feels incredibly satisfying.
@@pucie_boithe game has been out for a very long time and being maxed is not good anymore, even 120 all isnt that good anymore. you know how long it would take to get 200m with lamps for free? and it costs 600$ or so per skill for a 200m.
MTX are not mandatory in any way. No story content or skills are locked behind it, only some cosmetic stuff. In my 18 years of playing RS(3), I haven't spend a single cent on mtx and I only use daily Treasure Hunter keys.
when was 120 cape added? i got bug where i have diviation cape even tho no member becuase a certain event that i hope comes back but not prepaird to change it yet. and diff between first 120 and 2nd 120 cape like with regular skillcape?
120 capes got added a long time ago, however. only REAL 120 skills have a 120 skillcape effect, virtual level skills have no extra effect for the 120 cape. real 120 skills atm are - dungeoneering, slayer, herblore, farming, invention, necromancy, and archeaology
The only rewarding thing in Rs3 is log completion or getting BIS and fighting new bosses. The zuk milestone felt great! But skills are worthless because of lamps
I'm a Trimmed comp player whose been playing since 2002. I still played RS3 and try to tell my friends I just don't like EOC combat. I really just don't like it. So I grinded out achievements and Quest but now that I've finished all that I too when back to OSRS and like you said. It feels so good. Just getting level 60, 70 stats feels so accomplishing. I like the combat way better, I like the aspect of mixing gear types and sets. It just feeels better. Great video brother. EOC + Microtransactions has killed my love for rs3.
They put that stupid goblin spin thing in the game and I left forever. Double xp was whatever and constitution was just 10X your normal HP so didnt really care. I did try RS3 on mobile for shitz n gigs but probably played for 10 minutes before I uninstalled and hadnt looked back.
I think the reason people dislike and hate rs3 is not the combat. The combat was just the reason years and years ago when eoc came out. These days its the aggressive pay money for exp insted of training ingame. Oh you got 99 something ? Took for 100 hours ? Kool i just bought 99 with keys etc. thats my opinion anyway
i sign in once a year on my accounts from osrs and im like 70cb and have a few almost maxed skills from literally logging in and using loyalty points/spins/twitch prime.
Yah between that and necro being too op and all the mtx. Its an easy switch to osrs. Theres a reason i got ranked top 100 for hard clues, without that i peob would hav quit rs3 way earlier
" Oh you got 99 something ? Took for 100 hours ? Kool i just bought 99 with keys etc. thats my opinion anyway" and why do you care about how someone else got the 99? who had more fun out them 2 people the person actually playing the game or the dude rolling lamps? if someone buying exp upsets you that much then you got bigger issues.
Osrs just has a crazy supportive community with people who are ready to riot im every single world if jagex makes an update people dont like. Also 07 polls every update. Rs3 needs those things
As someone who combat with action bars, be it action or tab target and as someone who simply played runescape for a couple months as a child in 2011, I also prefer OSRS. For every thing RS3 does, I have other MMORPGs I prefer, but OSRS remains unique.
I quit the game back in Feb/March after Arch, I kinda completed everything I wanted to do in the game. Also your p2w gripes really resonate with me, maxing meant absolutely nothing to me other than some combat stats. Plus grinding for bonds to play (because I'm poor asf and live paycheck to paycheck) makes me think of the game as a chore at points. It's supposed to be an end of day escape ffs. Bonds are OVER 70M NOW WTF.
I’ve been hopping between rs3 Ironman and osrs Ironman for years now and I’ve been having a blast with rs3 using revo only. I could never play this game on a main though, progress doesn’t mean anything anymore.
I think most people enjoy RS3 because it respects your time. We’re not all 13 anymore with nothing to do but sit in front of our PC’s all day grinding a skill to level 99 on OSRS. Also I see a lot of people that were super hyped for leagues to come back to OSRS because of everything that comes with it like increased xp, yet shit on RS3. But all those increased xp gains and etc is just normal RS3. I personally don’t want to grind a game that hasn’t changed since 07 purely for nostalgia especially if I’ve been there and done that. They’re both good in their own right I just think RS3 is more interesting because there’s simply more to do.
I started on old school maxed and then went to rs3 and maxed just so I can have a account maxed on both sides of the game no matter what itch I get pvm wise game wise I can enjoy 99.9% of the entire game(s)
Your membership for either OSRS or RS3 covers both games so if you pay for OSRS membership you get RS3 membership packaged with it. So saying you are not renewing RS3 membership yet still intend on playing OSRS is a bit redundant you could just say you won't be logging into RS3.
I don't really agree with your points on the "p2w" aspects of the game because I've met a lot of different players and for the most part, the people who pay for their stats/keys have no clue how to play the game at all. If you don't know how the combat works and you just pay for stats or gold to get t95 weapons or whatever, you still get worse kill times then someone with t70 if you don't know how to use it, especially if you don't have the quests done which you can't pay to complete. Arch is a funny example you bring up because you actually CAN'T just lamp it, because the reason you train it is for the relics but you need relic power which means even if you lamp to 99(it goes to 120) you still have to go back and do all the content anyways because otherwise you can't use your relics. Your take is that 99s don't mean anything and that's true, but that's only because you're comparing it to old school. In RS3 people care about your ACTUAL skill level and knowledge of the game, not some stupid stat having a number. Being able to do PVM, understanding the ins and outs of each boss and skill system is the goal. The skill gap is huge and I've never met a single person who buys keys/bonds who's doing high end PVM. Also, your take on necro is almost the exact opposite opinion I've heard from everyone else.
100% agree they ruined "Runescape" when they started doing so much micro transactions, rs3 is complete poopy. OSRS for da win, also I wouldnt mind if they would make osrs look a bit more nice like rs3, and do more cosmetic changes like the skill cape hoods like you said. :)
Hope it doesn't come across as a backhanded compliment to say I appreciated what felt like a more critical and contemplative video than the usual ironman cheerleading. Don't think you need to pull your punches when it comes to criticising RS3 though. For every the neat addition like Archaeology or Necromancy, there's a huge lit of MTX and other predatory forms of monetisation that are more liable to push new and returning players away than capture their long-term attention. And much as I hear your friends' comments about OS being a dated-looking "pixel-y game"; at least as far as the newcomers to Old School are concerned, they seem to be largely, if not overwhelmingly, zoomers -- albeit often starting through mobile. Whereas RS3's long term trend is one of haemorrhaging players without making up the difference. Re: starting an iron, my RS3 account is an iron, and it honestly feels like an afterthought compared with e.g. Leagues, where big flashy game modes/events are built around ironman variants. And while I couldn't spell out the reasons with any confidence, there must be reasons ironman content is so popular -- firsthand and for viewers alike -- with OSRS but barely worth noting with RS3. It's a small miracle the business suits that poisoned RS3 haven't gotten their claws into Old School too honestly. Hopefully it means the corporate side at Jagex understands that pushing similar monetisation models would just kill OS too.
i dont even talk to anyone in this game or play for fun. at this point 200m all is just something i have to finish. why start another project if you havent finished the first one??
81 archeology there is still so much in the game only in that skill Im not saying that you don´t know anything about the game, but the game has so much to offer never quitting just taking a break. remember xd
there's been talks of 200m capes but again people just complain about it "Wahh I cba for 200m xp to get the cape so no one should have it) like its a cape it doesn't change anything there's too many people caring about what other people are doing like who cares getting a skill to level 120-200m is for your own sense of accomplishment most of the skills stop at 99.
Noway bruh, even tho necromancy coulda been summoning 99-120. There's still hybrid hope for main hand switch. stick around. Iban's staffing 2023. lol jk
The sad thing is that many people got 200mil Necro in less than a week. Even without MTX, makes skills stupid. Necromancy is pretty cool. But the rituals were a bought method of the skill. The rituals were much faster than doing combat. Which ticked me off. You could buy a bunch of bonds to get gp that could buy the skill doing rituals. I got to 94. Got bored with it. Went off to do other things. May come back to get 120. But not now.
Thoughtful of you to use that wording, u know i hate asmr but like the vibes here. I wish you a strategic advantage in the endeavours you currently occupy yourself with, mate :)@@NoHelpOSRS
Nobody cares about 99s because it isn’t true skill mastery It’s very clear RS3 is moving towards every skill scaling to 120 with most new skills and some old ones having unlocks past 99 I give it 2-3 years before every CB skill will effect your CB level and damage cap, I think once that happens a lot of people will be interested in the game again as it will be much more rewarding again Getting CB levels for the first time in a decade was such a cool feeling
I like it just the way it is lol. I’m old, have kids, don’t have endless hours to just game all day everyday, I just like to play. I started playing in 04, experienced classing, old school plus current, I much prefer the current lol. Old school is only played by old people like myself anyways and we are a dying breed where eventually osrs will be no more, these new kids on the block like things like Fortnite, an the new rs3 looks more modern. People complain about pay to play… but to be honest, if there was no pay to play there would be no RuneScape. That goes for old school as well… it’s a company that has to stay afloat just like any other business. Just how it is with every game that’s like this one. If you don’t like it, don’t play it, it’s fine lol. You’ll see the same similarities with other games. An it’s that simple lol. Just play, have fun. Who cares about high scores and all that, games are made to have fun.
Hopefully they fix Runescape with Runescape 4 but i doubt it, Jagex is greedy and doesn't care, atleast the RS3 team is like that, OSRS seems to be much better because they actually listen.
If it weren't for ironman mode I would have quit runescape long ago. Bonds completely ruin the game for me. Ironman mode is not perfect though. I wish the game had a lootshare system. I play OSRS primarily.
They need to stop all updates for rs3 and osrs and announce runescape 4. Similar concept with the skills, but a massive overhall to the life of the game while making every single person start from scratch.
I don't really care much about RS3 and I don't really care that much about why you're quitting but I watched the whole video because I loved watching walk through these classic areas. It was neat to see how it has been reimagined in RS3
elliana so ur the guy that use to pretend to be a gf and ask for gifts ;) hahah just kidding i did the same im finally off rs3 was going for 200m div goto 140m+ i generally dont like any of the skills after div release and even i was thinking i should some some irl and just buy those skills haha but dosent seem worth it when u can spend a days wage and get 99 - 110+ but im back on osrs now feels good 26m+ agility untrimmed
I quit because Necro devalued all other combat skills. How dare they destroy every combat skill for a buck. Came back a few months later but im ony maxing my other stats. Necro can suk my dk. 75 Necro without even trying and that is just sad so fk their cash grabs
I don't really understand where the "Winning" portion of getting skills up is - The only winning comes from end tier pvm, and you most certainly can't buy that. XD
jagex should focus more on rewarding (investing) content creators, scale down the gambling and mtx, and update the game so that new players can be guided more easily. This alone, will already bring more players to the game, instead of trying to squueze every penny out of the remaining players. I can't believe a company can be so blind lmao... Rework PVP, because let's be honest, one of the things thats keeping oldschool alive is PVP. At the end of the day pvp is one the most fun things you can do, esp in a game like runescape. Easy way would be to rework legacy and invite players to pvp more with, rewards/bosses etc. However i think they should stick to eoc, and simply ban many abilities, stick to the basics. These 2 things alone, and runescape would be WAY more fun, and help the economy a lot. To be honest, they need a HUGE rework, due to all the changes in the years. and not be afraid of deleting old content that is not used anymore. Scale down the daily scape. So really all they need to do is to work on, keeping and attracting new players. Whilst keeping the game exciting which i personally believe PVP would change A LOT. Instead of trying to squeeze pennies out of loyal players, they should really asking the community advice. We've been playing this game for a hella long time. TLDR.. I hope you see this : 1. reward content creators, 2. Make the game easier for new players (guides etc) 3. bring PVP back... 4. Scale down mtx 5.Update the game = update old content and not add new content. RS foundations are falling apart, game makes NO sense in the beginning that is why no new players are playing this game lmao At the end of the day it sucks to see a game you love playing, becoming worst and worst, for let's be honest money. I think that jagex really don't care so much about this game, and are more focused on their new open world fornite project lmao. It is what it is...
Wood boxes had made me uninstall the game....Because F2P is only limited to Wood, Oak and Willow. And you can actually cut and craft Yew....Like what is the point of grinding to 99/120 on Woodcutting if you can't use Yew Wood Box...Despite you can Burn Magic Logs in a F2P server......They need to fix this Membership content crap....Or at least make it possible for new players to get wood boxes for the trees they can cut without needing to pay for membership...
I mean your reasoning for buying your way to the top was your own fault for not enjoying the game? you say about how you got from 60-87 archaeology lamping your daily keys but you decided to lamp the skill? no one held a gun to your head and forced you to level archaeology, sure there's people that will lamp their way to the top sure but that's on them and if that's how they enjoy the game so be it it doesn't effect you(personally I use daily lamps bonus exp on skills already 99-120 for making grinding 200m easier) you can play this game how ever you like if you wanna kill trolls till 99 go for it wanna lamp it abit and speed it up for better more fun content go for it wanna lamp the entire skill go for it others peoples accomplishments shouldn't effect you someone lamping 120 woodcutting shouldn't effect how you want to play the game. this game can be played basically completely solo(albeit a couple pieces of content) but you can play RS3 at any pace you want enjoy the journey and stop worrying about what other people are doing. the absolute only thing I personally feel wrong with the MTX is buying tradeable bonds and selling em for GP now buying best in slot items costing 3+B will deffo cost a pretty penny IRL but being able to buy 100m with a couple quid/bucks to turbo speed buyable skills isn't great and makes people wanna do it but that argument is redundant since you can do the exact same on OSRS the lamps/stars are only a issue when you lamp a skill then moan you don't get to enjoy the skill.
Very interesting takes I appreciate this comment! Your totally right I could have used the lamps on other skills, I have a maxed Ironman on old school RuneScape so I see RuneScape completely different. Maybe I would enjoy a RuneScape 3 Ironman it’s just I started back in 2009 and maxed my account on rs2 and the game just kept getting progressively easier and it feels like my achievements meant noting anymore I do like the game just not the MXT
Hands down rs3 is way better and has so many quality life changes that took me out of old school granted I do agree with the attacking but I have over come that point in the game from friends and it’s quite easy to learn he’s not gonna quit it’s just click bait watch he will be doing tips and tricks for rs3 soon lol
Rs3 has lost its community. No runefest in years. No one talks in game. People that cared left years ago and now pvm drones are left. I honestly think that minigames and world events should return.
OSRS does have a problem with xp over fun, though every once in a while it seems like they make a step in the right direction. If Runescape is becoming "efficiencyscape" then I think the devs desperately need to add xp incentives to some of their old minigames in order to breathe some life back into them and make some changes to the mechanics of certain minigames to make it more accessible for lower levels to compete.
i agree as i grew up on older rs for many years but osrs is more fun even though i love my 120 hp, def and range capes on rs3, osrs still is better long term for fun factor. Also once in while will go on rs3 just to bank stand and look at my 120 cape's but that's about it in like non mem world.
Yes 100% agree with you on this! A month of my Ironman felt like more of an accomplishment than years of playing RuneScape 3
Thought you were gonna say to quit the game and focus on real life.
I did the same thing hahah
I've been playing OSRS for almost a year now since I stopped playing RS3. It's been a great experience to return to the feeling of when I was a kid while also being a completely different game.
I always feel a bit of pain emotionally when I log in to RS3 which is something I barely ever do. I’m just reminded of the good old days when I see my old bank again set up just how I left it. It makes me sad to see my character, the same character that ran around in RS2, now stood behind pop-up windows for MTX 😢
I love OSRS, may it stand strong as a bastion and haven for old fans of the game.
Yeah brother I totally understood how you feel it’s exactly how I feel as well and it’s the same for me I left my bank an exact way where I was skilling back In pre EOC and it’s totally changed forever it’s definitely nastalgic loging in
yall are too sentimental smh lol
Whenever people talk about "pop-up windows for MTX" you can tell they dont actually play rs3.
This is the same for me. RS3 sadly optimises the downfall of gaming in the pursuit of profit. I remember when they rolled out the Squeel of Fortune and just knew the game was doomed. Thankfully OSRS has redeemed it for me.
I still play my main account but as an ironman and ignore treasure hunter and all cosmetics. Also play on legacy worlds. It's still fun that way :)
Tbh I quit osrs to play rs3 last year and Im enjoying it because Ive maxed a main and iron both on osrs and I got burnt out on my gim so i was just looking for a new experience and Im really enjoying rs3
Yes 100% for the new experience with the same sort of feel rs3 is the best option
Yeah RS3's easy levelling due to MTX doesn't feel great, but keep in mind that Ironman accounts don't have access to any of that which makes a huge difference and is probably the best way to play RS3 if you enjoy earning things and engaging in the game's mechanics
or you could just not cave in and buy MTX.
why would anyone care if someone pays money for xp boost.. play ur own game and have fun
ive played less than a week and i have combat 72 and toital sjkills 689
grindeed some quests, got 27 hunter keys in 1 day.
anyone paying for those keys is stupid lol...
if anything "mtx" is more likje skins and stuff... cosmetics
even bank spaces hasnt been issaue for me.. the paywall comes when u want to go beyond Rune gear tho.
also i get hunter keys randomly as well, no idea where they come from, playtime? random proc?
i literally spammed magic lamps on skills i feel like is hard to level , like Prayer or skills i dont care about, like Cooking ; ]
“It’s to easy to buy levels in rs3”
“I love playing OSRS ironman”
You know… if you play rs3 Ironman you can’t buy levels….
Definitely want to get a quest cape! Uploading TH-cam videos definitely holds me back
@25Jake it doesn't.
You get less per dollar so that makes it better somehow :D
Ultimately if your primary issue with RS3 is MTX, play Ironman.
Was about to say take care and farewell. But this nikka has been uploading RS videos ever since. The addiction goes hard.
respect to anyone who leaves rs3 for osrs sad rs3 needs this lesson to learn we dont accept this id literally play runescape 3 from scratch on a genshin impact server for 60$ and no membership if they allow it or heck make it 120 one time pay
buying your way to the top doesnt bother me its the markets that jagex ignored for years letting bots basically ruin the game and if they were to poll a economy restart when the game is near dead im voting yes
Ironman mode is the only way I can enjoy RS3. It invalidates the mtx argument and keeps things fresh and new
Exactly! Can't go back to normal. It's so unrewarding
I like many other players am seasonal. I quit and return often (to both osrs and rs3)
Every time I have ever returned to rs3 it has been on my Ironman account. Find it hard to justify main scape when I get so much more enjoyment from iron.
How often do you play RS3 vs Old School? Gratz on the accomplishment!
Hey I barely play rs3 just started again because of the new skill ahaha
Would you make video how many karambwanji and karambwans ironmen should go for? and also maybe add in it a bit of miscellania ironman guide to help a bit easier to make choises (herb max is rn what i got and mahogany is the half way) and how often you should go check on resources and make favor back to 100%
Yeah that’s a great idea definitely would be a great video
My first experience was with RS3. While I do miss it. I do understand why so many people prefer OSRS. I like the chill laid back nature of OS.
I love rs3 pvm, main reason I keep playing, its fun crafting efficient rotations and getting very fast kills
They already released the quest leading to Vorkath last week, takes like an hour to complete
And we're getting Vorkath next month, lets hope it is good :)
Wow eh that’s absolutely insane probably will make a video of its good enough
Best drop at vorkath is the codex and its only worth like 380M, and I have done 100 nm and 3 hm vorkath kills, only 4 spikes and no codex
Dang, even recorded the log out. You know it's serious when you see that xD
Ahaha yes it’s going to be along time until I log in again
Hey, what trousers and t-shirt is that @2:18?
I've switched to OSRS Ironman hero pass was the last straw
Yeah 100% such a bad update made alot of people switch over
How long will you quit for?
No offense, it's a good game but even I take months in-between my short sessions. I play only for the memories, so necro or dxp has nothing to do with it.
X to win the game I say
I play both...and enjoy both for different reasons. I'm also looking forward to Leagues coming back....
Yes definitely they both have there Charm! I’m super excited for the leagues as well
i think for any sort of longevity in this game you need to play an ironman. Progress on a non-iron feels so cheap and fleeting. Getting my first subjugation drop on my iron gave me the same rush as getting my zuk cape on my iron. Every drop on an iron feels incredibly satisfying.
sure you got a "zuk cape" lol
how many 200ms u got?
@@toofragile825 None, but i haven't seen a main that wasn't maxed in a long time. They lamp that 200m from treasure hunter.
@@pucie_boithe game has been out for a very long time and being maxed is not good anymore, even 120 all isnt that good anymore. you know how long it would take to get 200m with lamps for free? and it costs 600$ or so per skill for a 200m.
@@toofragile825 200m on a main isn't impressive though
honestly I find rs3 quite fun but seeing all the MTX and empty world depresses me, OSRS just feels so much more alive
osrs has more active player base now sadly but again with p2w i see why people was also pushed to osrs more as they have more lively worlds.
i thought about coming back to rs3 i quit cuz of he MTX, i think i shall stay away
Yeah it totally ruined the game
He doesn't like the microtransactions and doesn't want to play RS3 ironman because it won't do well on TH-cam. Saved ya 15 minutes.
There is no abandoning RuneScape, whether OSRS or RS3 the temptation to login will never subside
-Jacob Davis of Arkansas
I get sad sometimes knowing I can’t get back into rs3 or osrs .
They put that stupid goblin spin thing in the game and I left forever. Double xp was whatever and constitution was just 10X your normal HP so didnt really care. I did try RS3 on mobile for shitz n gigs but probably played for 10 minutes before I uninstalled and hadnt looked back.
Yes definitely a hard game
To get it to I can’t even imagine on mobile, definitely would be really challenging
Good thing Ironman exists.
Osrs just has a crazy supportive community with people who are ready to riot im every single world if jagex makes an update people dont like. Also 07 polls every update. Rs3 needs those things
Truth
As someone who combat with action bars, be it action or tab target and as someone who simply played runescape for a couple months as a child in 2011, I also prefer OSRS.
For every thing RS3 does, I have other MMORPGs I prefer, but OSRS remains unique.
I think the microtransaction XP needs to be scaled back. Not removed but nerfed substantially to make 99 and 120 feel like more of an accomplishment.
Im glad you decided to quit rs3. Now you can use HDOS to play yhe nostalgic rs2 side since the HD is so cool.
Yes 100% I like the HDOS client a lot
Brings back memories I played this back in early stages of development
I was confused lol i was like 'No Help on RS3?' never thought id see the day
Ahahah yeah lol it’s rare a rare occasion brother I barley do it these days just wanted to check out the new skill necromancy
I'd quit playing too if I had that horrible UI.
its absolute horrendous lol
Yes! Bro the hoods are so great! And we would save some bank space! It’s sad they ruined RuneScape 3 but it is what it is and we have OSRS now !
"rs3 complete poopy. osrs for da win" 100% an osrs autistic andy whos never even played rs3 lol
81 archeology there is still so much in the game only in that skill
Im not saying that you don´t know anything about the game, but the game has so much to offer never quitting just taking a break. remember xd
On the topic of rs3 mtx I believe jagex would have went out of business without it
I don’t agree with keys I play both primary rs3 but adding bonds was the best thing they could have ever done
Yeah your probably right
@@ostt3you don't agree with people buying xp for their own account but adding a way of buying gold in game is fine? Weird take.
8:22 - u know u can turn on legacy mode combat in rs3 right? :D
Gratz!
Ty my friend
Idk, feels odd that you complain about runescape, because it changed over a 20 year period xD
I came from osrs iron to rs3 iron and its a dif game from the main acc its so fun
Yeah I definitely think Ironman could be fun
This old game also needs 200m capes not just 120 lol
there's been talks of 200m capes but again people just complain about it "Wahh I cba for 200m xp to get the cape so no one should have it) like its a cape it doesn't change anything there's too many people caring about what other people are doing like who cares getting a skill to level 120-200m is for your own sense of accomplishment most of the skills stop at 99.
you said it best, I hope Jagex see this
Thank you my friend, yeah I would like if they saw this Aswell
Osrs with rs3 graphics will be amazing not gonna lie, i know already exists hdos and runelite hd but they are not the same graphics as rs3
Yes definitely not the same as rs3 graphics
Noway bruh, even tho necromancy coulda been summoning 99-120. There's still hybrid hope for main hand switch. stick around. Iban's staffing 2023. lol jk
The thing is there is so much crap to do in the game it doesn’t matter if you pay to win
Yeah Ik the rituals is the method I used to get 99 and after that I CBA
Rejoice. More osrs vids then. But hey, must be melancholic; Differen't type of a celebration, be happy for the memories :) You can always go back!
Yes exactly my friend
Thoughtful of you to use that wording, u know i hate asmr but like the vibes here. I wish you a strategic advantage in the endeavours you currently occupy yourself with, mate :)@@NoHelpOSRS
The fact you used bonus xp or lamps on Archeology told me all I needed to know about you
Nobody cares about 99s because it isn’t true skill mastery
It’s very clear RS3 is moving towards every skill scaling to 120 with most new skills and some old ones having unlocks past 99
I give it 2-3 years before every CB skill will effect your CB level and damage cap, I think once that happens a lot of people will be interested in the game again as it will be much more rewarding again
Getting CB levels for the first time in a decade was such a cool feeling
You know runescape has past its time when you can unironically say that getting 200m exp in a skill is no big deal.
Pretty much only "progress" worth doing is quests since xp is almost free and gp cheap with bonds being in the game.
YES I AGREE BROTHER

You say someone can max an acc within a year yet you couldn't in 20? lol
Idk, i still like rs3 better, just cant get into osrs
That is totally fair :)
Runescape gives one of the two for each person: autism or a mental disorder like ocd or depression.
Yeah lol
oldschool is simply just superior
Hopefully they fix Runescape with Runescape 4 but i doubt it, Jagex is greedy and doesn't care, atleast the RS3 team is like that, OSRS seems to be much better because they actually listen.
You can Iron Man RS3 and all the xp potions and stuff go away.
Rs3 does look amazing
Graphics are very interesting ahaha Doesn’t feel like RuneScape you know
If it weren't for ironman mode I would have quit runescape long ago.
Your UI should be a criminal offence
Not ideal for combat. That's for sure.
Lmaoooooo why’s that 😅 I play OSRS
75 Necro without even trying and that is just sad so fk their cash grabs
its crazy how Jagex removes the most popular parts of rs3 and doubles down on stuff like eoc that people hate. Never made any sense
TLDR.. I hope you see this :
1. reward content creators,
2. Make the game easier for new players (guides etc)
3. bring PVP back...
4. Scale down mtx
5.Update the game = update old content and not add new content.
RS foundations are falling apart, game makes NO sense in the beginning that is why no new players are playing this game lmao
At the end of the day it sucks to see a game you love playing, becoming worst and worst, for let's be honest money. I think that jagex really don't care so much about this game, and are more focused on their new open world fornite project lmao. It is what it is...
Wood boxes had made me uninstall the game....Because F2P is only limited to Wood, Oak and Willow. And you can actually cut and craft Yew....Like what is the point of grinding to 99/120 on Woodcutting if you can't use Yew Wood Box...Despite you can Burn Magic Logs in a F2P server......They need to fix this Membership content crap....Or at least make it possible for new players to get wood boxes for the trees they can cut without needing to pay for membership...
its runescape 3. That's enough of a reason to quit. the cape looks nice tho
Ahahahha yeah the capes awesome
I’m sorry but you’re really not even maxxed
Ahahah yeah I guess not arch
Without P2W the Game has so much potential. 👍🏻
Rs3 has ironman mode too
why is 120 the max? what's wrong with 99? 120 sounds stupid
In Rs3 some skills have perks past 99. The rest are just for show basically.
It’s basically like getting 99 8 times lol just more of a grind
rs3 ironman is good imo, it gets rid of all those mtx windows and bs items
Yea definitely worth a try eh
us osrs players have idea what u are talking about or what anything means lol
Ahahaha yeah sorry 😅
