+Troy Wright even before I checked the comments I knew that snare was killing, it sounds great! On another note, I thought Rudinger was with Pearl? Seems like everyone is jumping ship from Pearl lol.
+jaydoode15 I think the Tama endorsement was recent, within the year or so. I don't know the specifics, he may have already had the masters kit and whatnot and just talked to them about an official endorsement, whereas Tama clearly came to him about it. Like, I know Jon Karel had a Starclass B/B kit for quite a while before he was a Tama endorsee, and he used that same kit for the duration of his endorsement. It's not always a company just giving you free everything. And Pearl still makes good products, I think Tama just plays to the strengths of their name being popular among harder/heavier genres and goes for artists in those fields.
+jaydoode15 Why would you sell your Pearl kit and buy Tama just because a couple endorsed players have switched brands? Did your kit suddenly go bad or something when Alex started playing Tama? Newsflash: it didn't. Though I guess your line of thinking is *exactly* what companies hope to achieve by signing endorsed players
I think the fact that Alex can move from style to style says a whole lot about what kind of percussionist he is. It's cool to see the bleed in styles when he plays. You can see more of the technical stuff he can do in this straight forward kind of music but it's tasteful. He really is one of the best.
Absolutely love the Good Tiger album, one of my favorites this year, and your drumming just enhances the experience. Hope you'll be doing more playthroughs of the songs because they're all fantastic.
As always amazing work Alex. This album is fastly climbing up on my "favourites " list and it's a great pleasure seeing you making drum covers of it. Definitely keep them coming dude.
Loving Elliots vocals on this. Wasn't too sure about his performance in Tesseract, but his voice fits great here. Also, awesome playing as always, Alex.
Loved your work, Alex. You've got a new subscriber, for sure. And thanks for presenting me with a new band to check out. Loved this song, going to check the whole album out! Keep up the awesome drumming, Tama lovers 4 life ;)
EvanPieGuy Nothing from Veil of Maya even compares to his work in The Faceless, much more technical and speedy in my opinion. I'm sure he'd have no problem jamming that haha
its really good, but its not my cup of tea. I liked you more in the faceless, BUT I GET IT MAN. I highly respect your new musical approach! Its still pretty technical stuff, which is sick. Gonna give the whole album a listen another day, maybe itll strike a fire in me haha. ROCK ON BROTHER! STAY TRUE!
I love your playthroughs, you are my main inspiration at the moment, I'd like to become ambidextrious just like you. Also your drumming is great in the song, but I can't really get into it as a whole. It's just my opinion sooo yeah, who cares ;D Greetings from Poland Rudi!
I am a huge fan of strictly dirty vocal music and technical stuff but this blend of metal, modern rock and clean vocals really appeals to me and I think it's a good fit for Alex. The style overall reminds me of a blend of old The Mars Volta, Circa Survive and The Faceless, at least since their last album Autotheism.
Sick job man. Watch all of your videos, starting back in 09. Love the foot switching in all the vids. When are you playing next in So Cal ?? I want to see you live.
+Joni Ikäläinen Well I mean he overlays midis like every other drummer nowadays
9 ปีที่แล้ว
+Sam Gates I don't think he has to. Depending on what kind of music he's recording, but I'm quite sure that at least cover videos doesn't have midis, though who am I to say.
+Joni Ikäläinen Not to argue, but I'll bet you 10000000000 dollars he midis at least his kick. Listen to the level and velocity consistancy. Doesn't matter if you're the best drummer in the world, that's electronic overlay..
+Joni Ikäläinen It's not a 'has to' thing, it's just about putting out a perfect product

Sam Gates I know at least seven different ways to get constant velocity to drum hits, but what do I know. You can always ask him, then we'll know for sure.
I like the sound of the cymbals (incl. hi-hat), they keep their sound, unlike on a lot of albums these days, after all the mixing and mastering the sound barely matches that of how they truly sound.
Savage playing dude!! Razor tight. Hope tour is going well!! Didn't manage to catch you and say hi after in manchester, would have been sick to meet you! All the whiskey happened with Dan & Misha though hahahaha Keep killing it man, big inspiration to me to get my ass in gear & hit youtube hard.
Good to see you're having good times with Good Tiger, it's different but it stills you, hard and technical ^^. Btw, i don't know if you listen to Gojira, but, i'd like to see you playing some, hard and technical =D.
What do you think about using coated vs clear tom heads? I play a birch Tama kit so I'm really not sure(recording or live). I see a lot of people using coated for some reason. Super clean cover Alex! Really enjoyed the album from you guys, I hope we can see some live drum cams eventually
its all about attack and tone. clear heads have a tendency to have a sharper attack. battered heads have a more controlled tone , and not as sharp of an attack. of course this info is provided by the companies who produce drum heads. I personally like the clear heads(2PLY). Im considering a coated set to try something different.
***** I use birch as well. I've always had clear on the kit and an Evans power center coated on the snare. I always seem to get that nice wet attack live.
+blrsycth eh I wouldn't say coated heads are necessarily more durable at all. Really just comes down to the thickness of the plies and how many are there. There's always heads with power dots, thicker mils, 3 ply heads, etc. I hate Evans heads, but I have a G14 which is just a really thick single ply head on my snare and it has held up extremely well.
Digging your new direction man. It's not like anyone doesn't know you have the chops for tech, and the evidence is the support you're getting from your fans that comes no matter what you decide to play. Have you and Hellpern been kicking it?
Alex - I know you're very independent with each limb - but during the opening for example, you switch from left to right feet - is that to make it more challenging or is that just the way your mind works and its a natural/instinctive thing? Love your work as always…. :)
Maaaaaaan. I love that snare sound you've pulled here!
dat bell brass
+Troy Wright even before I checked the comments I knew that snare was killing, it sounds great! On another note, I thought Rudinger was with Pearl? Seems like everyone is jumping ship from Pearl lol.

bokunotraplord Yeah, I think I'm gonna sell my Pearl kit and buy a Tama kit. Pearl also lost Virgil Donati, they are a sinking ship it seems...
+jaydoode15 Why would you sell your Pearl kit and buy Tama just because a couple endorsed players have switched brands? Did your kit suddenly go bad or something when Alex started playing Tama? I said it before and I'll say it again : There is nothing like a good drum cover to learn about a new band. Loved it.
+Vesaniah4 Just what I thought right now...
+Vesaniah4 Dude he plays in Good Tiger!
Alex you are a Beast!!! Your timing and speed is excelent and the Sound is great! Cool Job!

I just love how happy this guy looks as he's playing! It makes me love the video even more.
So crisp and groovy. Can't stop jamming your tunes
As always amazing work Alex. This album is fastly climbing up on my "favourites " list and it's a great pleasure seeing you making drum covers of it. Definitely keep them coming dude.
Never get tired of watching you play...sooooo inspiring...A+
The way you change the hand you lead the beat with is absolutely brilliant.
That snare is killing it. Sick job Alex!
Good Tiger just earned themselves a new fan ! Super tight as always. Good job Alex !
I am impressed with his technique, always in your videos learn a new sound for my battery. You are to be congratulated for their work Alex
I wasn't very into this at first but Good Tiger has really grown on me, digging it hard.
Alex, you're a monster behind the kit! Nice work!
Happy Birthday Alex !! Awesome video!
Going to see ya in a few weeks in good old germany. so stoked!
Loving Elliots vocals on this. Wasn't too sure about his performance in Tesseract, but his voice fits great here. Also, awesome playing as always, Alex.
Amazing as always. Hands down best drum tone on youtube!
I Love your hard hitting effortless crazy face pulling style dude!

What a sexy finish in the toms and bass drum!
Loved your work, Alex. You've got a new subscriber, for sure. And thanks for presenting me with a new band to check out. Loved this song, going to check the whole album out! Keep up the awesome drumming, Tama lovers 4 life ;)
Oh my God, why is this music so off the damn chain good...
Damn his voice and then Alex jamming is so sweet, nice job buddy!
The 'GOOD' thing about this 'TIGER' is there's ALEX RUDINGER playing drums in it! ; )
saw you play last night in Norwich. absolutely killed it, will be picking up your album for sure!
Happy-B Dude !!! I love all your video !
I was just watching Dez every time he popped up. Love that man
Alex I straight up love your new band, please come tour in the US soon and hit up Boston!
+Justyn Fogarty They are touring across the US with BTBAM, August Burns Red, and The Faceless in the spring.
Yeah im going to the RI show
+Justyn Fogarty i just saw them saturday! the faceless didn't go on the tour but it was still the best time of my life!!
really digging good tiger ...great job duder
well done,i love this song
I want to hear you play Mikasa, by Veil of Maya. It seems like a pretty challenging song, but I'm sure it won't be too hard for you.
+EvanPieGuy Mikasa is one of their easiest songs on drums, still great tune though.
EvanPieGuy Nothing from Veil of Maya even compares to his work in The Faceless, much more technical and speedy in my opinion. I'm sure he'd have no problem jamming that haha
Such a bad ass beat, so catchy.
Loving this group so much man. Its fucking gold. Im digging videos Alex cant wait for more! Happy Birthday homie!!!
*blastbeats internally*
Great stuff and HAppy Birthday!
its really good, but its not my cup of tea. I liked you more in the faceless, BUT I GET IT MAN. I highly respect your new musical approach! Its still pretty technical stuff, which is sick. Gonna give the whole album a listen another day, maybe itll strike a fire in me haha.

Elijah Martin how bout now?
I love your playthroughs, you are my main inspiration at the moment, I'd like to become ambidextrious just like you. Also your drumming is great in the song, but I can't really get into it as a whole. It's just my opinion sooo yeah, who cares ;D Greetings from Poland Rudi!
Awesome drumming skills man!
Kinda reminds me of Pravus in some parts
+Daniel Calderon As I read this, I heard it haha.
Saw you last Night in Cologne playing this with Good Tiger! Great Job :)
I'm digging that alternating foot single bass strokes.
this is very good and different compared to your other styles!
Nicely done
He alternates feet on the kick during the beginning rhythm, wow that is awesome

Laugh all you want, but the part from 0:50 to 1:00 reminds me so much of IIO - Is it Love. LOL!
2019 and still love this
2022 ✅
@@beatty1229 glad to hear we still alive after covid
@@ributasmara6419 for sure! And thanks for bringing me back to one of my favorite drum play throughs ha
Sick job man. Watch all of your videos, starting back in 09. Love the foot switching in all the vids. When are you playing next in So Cal ?? I want to see you live.
awesome Alex!
Love those drum parts
Is that a B58 on the Snare Top? That 57 under the HH's sounds nice..... Mmmmmmm microphones.
awesome as always dude!
You killed it last night dude!
Damn! Alex is so technically accurate, his playing almost sounds like midi
+Joni Ikäläinen Well I mean he overlays midis like every other drummer nowadays
+Sam Gates I don't think he has to. Depending on what kind of music he's recording, but I'm quite sure that at least cover videos doesn't have midis, though who am I to say.

What a fucking metronome.. love your playing man!

please do Aspirations next!

Playthrough of '67 Pontiac Firebird pls :)
Happy birthday, sir.
I don't know why cymbals @3:00 didn't make it to the final mix, they add some coolness to the guitar bridge
como sempre muito bom \o/
Awesome as always. Not to get off subject but how many hours you spend in the gym? You definitely ain't no skinny feller anymore.
Focused Dez is focused
See you in Vega, Copenhagen
the definition of tasteful
Piece of stick flew off at 2:01.
Dude slaaammms on that snare
Any chance of a drum tab book for this album?
Good job. Although I didn't like the song very much (because of the voice/singer). Could you provide an mp3 file of your publications?! It'd be cool!
+Alex Rüdinger Super sick jams. What bpm is this?
Just noticed the fact that you hit your left leg with your left arm plenty of times on the snare shots. Got any pains from that?
Decided against recording/rendering at 60FPS again? Alex I am disappoint. :(
Can't find that snare matey :(
nice hair dude
i continue being pro-Alex Rudinger Bun.
When I can see you in Germany ?:D
awesome
👌😏👬
Dude is straight surgical with every note.
