Alatina Avamua Matamua carves a wood handle for a Samoan stone adze

In this video, Samoan heritage artist Alatina Avamua Matamua uses a steel elbow adze and other tools to carve a section of guava wood into a traditional handle for a stone adze. The handle was made as part of the ~Rock~Paper~Scissors stone adze making workshop at the Tiapapata Art Centre in Apia, Samoa, May 2024.
