    We finish our very first wall after finally hitting our stride with installing the stone around our foundation! New life enters the farm and the boys get their very own mini truck for the farm.
    Shop Our Apparel: www.bunkerbran...
    We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
    Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"

    It is so encouraging to see parents teach their children to be responsible, and to introduce them to greater responsibilities in a timely fashion, rather than to wrap them in bubble wrap. Kudos!

      🤣 How times have changed... My parents didn't buy my vehicles. I had to mow lawns and detassle corn whatever odd end jobs cleaning up yards etc. Bought a moped at 14 paid for everything including insurance. Definition of teaching responsibility sounds like most Millennials these days...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @nathanasimpson
      @nathanasimpson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@centosx I think you're missing the point. Think about how much further you could have made it if you could have bought a small truck instead of a moped because your parents knew they could trust you to take care of it and went 50/50 with you. Imagine that, after giving you more and more responsibility, they decided that after learning to change the oil, check your tires, knew how important road safety is, and the cost of ownership, you could have expanding your lawn mowing business with a vehicle and a better lawn mower with the help of your parents.
      That's how this works. You don't tell your kid to go work an entire summer for something that you already know they can handle, when you can more than afford to find their dreams and responsibilities, so that they can go further than you ever did.
      It's about developing a better legacy in your kids, not recreating it.

    The greatest book of wisdom of all time says if you raise a child in the way that they should go, when they are old they will not depart from it. You two are going to leave the world with three wonderful kids. Marriage is a partnership, not a fairy tale. However, if you get the partnership right, the fairy tale will follow. You two have figured that out. I so enjoy watching you. My favorite vids of the week.

It makes a suction effect and will hold better so you won't have to put so many screws or having rocks hold them at the bottom. Sometimes they are to heavy and need some help but most of the time it will stick no problem. I've done a few walls in my time

    Way cool for Carter. I did some work on a farm in Illinois as a young boy. I can remember that time in my life still today. It inspired us to get a small property in the mountains of western North Carolina to escape too when we can.

    Thanks Josh and Erin for a great video. So many things happened here. The stone wall looks great so far, new truck for Carter and he is so impressed with it, your cat recovers nicely, the new lamb and the love you portray in your family. It is by far the best series on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Love you guys. ❤

      @@petefroehling8704 Not really. Where I stay we drive right hand vehicles as a rule but I also drove a left hand truck. It is a matter of adaption.

    Such a good idea to teach the youngsters to drive at an early age. And to engrain in them a sense of responsibility and self-discipline at an early age. Will stand them in good stead in later life.

    A big pat on the back for you guys. Reminds me of what I experienced growing up as a kid. Didn’t exactly have a farm but we kept three horses and all the chores that goes along with it. There was always some kind of building project going on. Mending fences, pouring concrete, painting the house and sheds and maintaining the pool and mowing the grass. With chores and projects to complete comes responsibility. I cherish all of it as I look back and see it carries on in my grandchildren. My parents like you guys are a blessing. Salutations from Wichita Ks.
