Hulk is the TOAA darker side his Yin to his Yang to balance the Universes. While TOAA is the God of Creation Immortal Cosmic Hulk is the God is the DESTRUCTION.

A Bruce banner who is no longer broken inside, & feels as though he’s finally found his purpose, sounds dangerous & very exciting.
Maybe now he'll actually end the world like he said he would instead of sitting on his hands in a secret underground base

Sounds very Connected Recently… we have an Unbroken Hulk… an Unshattered Minded Sentry… my two favorites made COMPLETE.
@@superjlk_9538 Al Ewing's art is what really made this series cool. The body Horror theme was the main sell. He's not that great at making a plot make sense or cohesive though. I think his writing style is more like the TV show Lost, where he keeps the reader on their toes by continuiously dropping a plot and switching to a new one. So, the lack of cohesion is part of the design. What was a good idea was retconning the Hulks origin to make him impossible to lose a fight now that he is revealed to be the avatar of TOAA, literally God in his corner.
OMG it explains why The Beyonder could not see any limit to his strength infinity of power rage personified. This blew my mind. I am going to buy the physical copy of this series.
Don’t ignore the bad story ending tho doesn’t explain why the one above stated he’s the opposite of the one below all Nd why would one above all then trap him self in the below place Nd need to absorb hulk energy to emerge dumb lol 😂 but heart of the monster hulk will for ever more be the greatest run

The comic shows duality and how it's supposed to be, hulk is supposed to be the counterweight to all of one above all's creation. Everything needs counterweight for balance also toaa didn't trap himself lmao he resides there. I suggest you to read carefully
I watched the videos and it was stated that one below all needed an avatar to be in the universe. That is why he was ranked a bit below the one above all.

@@Watch-0w1 I think the way the story is written there’s some ambiguity as to who Hulk “serves.” TOAA suggests that balance is needed in the universe. And so TOBA comes to exist, but perhaps only as a weaker mirror for TOAA. The Hulk is a physical manifestation of TOBA and may only be part of TOAA’s universe as an inevitable opposite. TOAA expresses that life is a cycle of creation and destruction that leads to more creation. Hulk helps fulfill that destructive side of that balance. Interpretations on this will probably end up being highly personal and difficult to fully articulate, which is a testament to good storytelling and also the near impossibility of clearly describing all the motivations and intentions of TOAA and also TOBA. Though I think we can infer that TOBA would not exist without TOAA existing first.

I loved this ending. I like how TOAAis just like: “I’m God. Do you really expect to understand my plans? You should just be concerned with doing the right thing.”
That's not what it was. It was TOAA guranteeing the Hulk wins every fight he's ever going to be in easily from now on and there should never be any doubt for a second ever again that Hulk is the strongest there is. For example, Green Scar Hulk having to fight Juggernaut to a standstill and then BFR him was an insult to Hulk. It is so much better now that Hulk beat him easy. This point of this story was a guarantee from God that Hulk is always the strongest and cannot lose

In a way, it makes meta-sense. That's why Hulk, the character, was created in the first place. To be the strongest one there is.

That’s because he’s limited by rage (if you knew anything about the Hulk), the angrier he gets, the stronger he gets. Hulk shows strength in mercy, we’re getting closer and closer to a Hulk unbound by emotion. His body is seemingly capable of infinite strength (which is shown in the future when TOBA possesses Hulk), he just needs a way to use it.

At the moment, yes he is inherently limited, but if Banner ever manages to access his bodies full potential, like TOBA did, he’d be a true force of destruction.

Well Bruce implies that he ‘absorbed’ the devil Hulk. I’m not sure if that means we’ll get more of Devil Hulk later, but for the moment Bruce has found a small measure of peace.

You missed the revelation at the end that the pregnant wife of Robert Sterns last name was Banner. So Leader and Hulk are family. Cain and Abel pretty much.

I hope they continue this line or way of thinking for the hulk. It’s like a long journey for him to understand what his purpose is. So his power has no limit and he can keep growing.

@@popcultureclips182 In the free comic book day avengers comic there was a teaser for his hulk run. The dialogue wasn't great and from the description of the comic it doesn't seem to fit in with the immortal hulk tone over all. Not saying he don't I like donny cates but I'm cautiously optimistic.
Cates will never live up to Ewing's run.
This is not new information we always knew hulk could keep growing doesn't change his power in the slightest.
So that explains why hulk can't die or be gotten rid of. He's the strength/wrath avatar of god.

Donny Cates is not topping this. I know people will love Hulk: The End and WWH but this is my personal favorite. WWH is really good but it doesn’t top the horror, the symbolism, and philosophy this series had. I can’t wait to see how Al handles Venom
This is definitely my favorite Hulk run, even over Planet Hulk.
Both are great but personally World War hulk was superior in my opinion.
I honestly could care less about the body horror or philosophy stuff. What I'm on board with is TOAA giving the Hulk a guaranteed win in every fight from now on. No more slug fest with lame characters like Juggernaut. Instead, Hulk just easily wiped the floor with him from now on every time. I can see Juggs fans crying now. Yeah, he's supposed to lose, but from now on it super easy for Hulk. Yes, I'm enjoying gloating, but as a Hulk fan knowing that Hulk can't lose ever again and not having to doubt if he's the strongest for a second is really the best thing ever
Planet hulk imo is still superior in story however everything else immortal hulk is better.

Amazing run.
I clicked for the god of destruction part, to see the "generic" new level of power Hulk. But this ending? God that was so good. Finally Banner isn't just someone who's crazy, and Hulk just a mass of hatred. I rarely ever comment, but "damn son."
TOAA doesn't make a punching bag, he creates an opportunity. He couldn't be the hulk and have done all the fantastic stuff he's done without going through the bad stuff too.
He's got it better than someone who was just a boring accountant to lived a semi comfortable life. He actually did something.

I really doubt it. The next author will probably ignore what was established here with TOAA. Hulks greatest strenght feats are in "Heart of the monster" in which he goes World Breaker and actually breaks the planet of Umar in the dark dimension over and over. I doubt we'll see Hulk show such strenght feats again anytime in the near future.

i wonder if this leads to some god hulk form where he is now at inner peace and can fully control his power with no upper bound, using all his infinite strength.
I can definitely see that coming, but if they are smart they'll stretch out getting to that point. I want to see the road that gets him there along with seeing his power grow gradually otherwise he's going to end up being written like Superman in crossover events aka not be written into them or immediately taken off the board so the threat at hand actually seems like a threat.

So Brian made Bruce suffer just like God made the Hulk suffer. The ending was oddly beautiful, it made me truly understand the origin and answers of what it is too be a monster and how to heal from it. With strength comes mercy

Crossing my fingers, this is not the end of the immortal hulk/devil hulk personal as that was one of the best bits to come out of this story.

So hulk is basically the physical manifestation of the devil that’s pretty cool.
No, he is the manifestation of The One Above Alls wrath and forgiveness. Basically he's gods vengeance towards the strong who misuse their strength and compassion and forgiveness for the weak who don't have strength of their own. Being a direct extension of the One Above All makes him closer to being the Marvel Universes god rather than devil.
More like The Spectre.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen Bruce in an entirely purple suit- something about it being a complete suit just begs for allegories that I'm not good enough to make but can imagine. Will be interesting to see if any of this is kept for any future Hulks.

a Bruce Banner/Hulk who knows his purpose and has a great bond sounds dangerous for the marvel universe, I LOVE IT
Theoretically, this means that the one below all in Hulk's body in the far future is still the Hulk, it might just be that the balance of creation and destruction are altered, like God taking a vacation.

Not gonna lie I actually like this, the fact that the opposite to god, the devil to the quintessential One Above All is just the other side of itself, The Creator is also the Destroyer and The Hulk is the physical manifestation of gods destructive power given form through flesh. This all came full circle Hulk literally is the strongest there is.
This story will be a classic in the future. The question is, is the Hulk above characters like Thor, Sentry, Knull, the Celestials or even the Cosmic Entities?
Can't wait to see what Donny Cates does with all of this. I tell ya, it's a hell of a time to be a Hulk fan.

This kind of flies in the face of that Hulk Vs. Odin fight where Odin proclaims "Hulk, you are the strongest mortal but not amongst the gods"

I like that marvel seems to be putting certain og characters into rediculus op positions. Feels like they are trying to build natural progression for mantle passing.

I love these kinda conclusions to classic characters that basically reset them to factory settings. It’s always refreshing.
Course give it another 5 to 10 years when they go crazy again, then reset again, again, and again.
When I read this book today, I knew this would be Rob's reaction.
So the "One above all" is "The one below all". Kinda feels cheap and seems pointless. Many, many Questions. Why did the Oaa have absorb gamma radiation? Did I miss something. Seems like a great opportunity was missed.

It’s not just that he was disguised as the oba the whole time or smth, it’s that the oba is the embodiment of the essential evil that’s required is the balance of creation, so oba is his own concept but he’s attached heavily to the one above all
It can’t be fully explained it words. It’s part of the mystery of any mythology that includes a creator. Everyone wonders why god allows evil? The answer is probably that without the contrast of evil there is no good. Nothing can be measured against anything else without a scale of good to evil. So evil is “necessary” and the Hulk is the embodiment of this through the One Below All.
Not necessarily. The One Below is just a mirror to The One Above, like the Hulk is a mirror to Bruce (mirrors and reflections are a huge theme in the Immortal Hulk series).
The One Above All is creation and peace, but the One Below all is necessary destruction, but it wouldn’t be incorrect to view them as two different beings (like you might think of Hulk and Banner).

The Hulk has always been my favorite Marvel character, but even him being the manifestation of gods strength, would not hold a candle against Lucifer Morningstar, he is waaaaay beyond the hulk in abilities and what not. He can blow up universes, kill immortal beings (yeah somehow), etc

@@Enz1612 if the Indications dropped in this run are true Banner has potential Beyond even the Multiverse tanking Morningstar.
It could be a case of if god needs Lucifer taken out hulk would do it for him, but god of marvel universe tends to let it play out on its own (i.e. the writes want iron man to beat Lucifer in this story not hulk) so yes but where’s the fun in that.

Holy cow. What an incredible way to justify that insane amount of power. I hope we get to see a 'Hand of The One' Hulk or something someday soon because if Bruce and Hulk can be at peace and tap into that incredible level of power I'm hyped!

It was different, intriguing and tied up a lot of loose ends that we didn’t know existed or gave thought too. It was a great run. So is Bob Layton’s limited series on Hercules that ran for decades. Well maybe not great but fun!

Read the final issue before coming here and this is my new favorite Hulk run of all time. I loved the horror elements and artstyle; I liked the commentary on society at times; I loved the character development of the Hulk personas. Now we get to find out the secret behind Hulk infinite strength? I feel like being an avatar would make him some higher level being. I don't know if there's a name or class before celestials or cosmic forces but damn. This was good. I hope there's a good reason Banner is at it again in Cates' run.
I hope Bruce stays this way, he's suffered enough through the comics and I think the guy deserves it
