@vrooom666 True as I am a cyclist and was nearly taken out by one in London, many moons ago. But counter to that, I was run down by a motorist and literally had to leap over the front of my bike! Otherwise, I would of probably been dead for the last eight years!

totally agree with you, but there also needs to be a way to report bad cyclists too! I say this as a cyclist myself, I also use my motorbike and sometimes the wife's car. Believe me I've seen it all, bad on all types of wheels. We all need to share the roads. As a cyclist living in the country I will always help out lorrys/buses by pulling in to allow them to get pass me easily, it's safer for me, and for others, I'm stopped for 1 minute to allow the small backlog to pass. I even get people thanking me. it's just about using a bit of common sense. after a minute I start cycling again I'm happy and safer, drivers are happier. stay safe people.

I used to cycle commute to work and I have endless stories of bad driving. Tailgating, brake checks, dangerous overtaking, pulling out of side road while I'm passing etc.

I'm a mature, lady car driver and very mindful of others on the road - obviously I've passed many cyclists and wondered why they want to be cycling in the cold and drizzle, brrrr - but I can now see from your perspective, the pleasure, freedom and fresh air you get from cycling in the country.

We felt guilty when we reported the first bad driver back in July. 110 drivers since then and it's like water off a ducks back..........

My parents in law live in Corntown, I ALWAYS get issues with drivers especially climbing up through Ogmore. I never get half the bother back home in Herts even though there’s way more traffic locally 🤷‍♂️

@@greigs9384 That’s interesting. I thought drivers in the Home Counties would be more impatient.

People need reporting AND punishing. The current state of zero consequences even with 4k video footage is unbelievable.
It's a sad reality that most adults on the road need to be sat down and taught like infants about how to share the roads and be respectful to other people. Just because you want to go faster than the person in front of you, it doesn't entitle you to endanger other people because you can't be patient.
Now, if they knew that video footage would actually get them in trouble, I think the situation would drastically change.
But the UK government is more bothered about catching people doing 75 on a three lane motorway than protecting the vulnerable in urban areas and country roads.

You need to stop cycling unless you pay road tax insurance and learn the highway code 🙄

@@steveallison3751 It is insightful. I see far more cyclists not adhering to the Highway code than I see car drivers not adhering to it. At the very least cyclists need to carry insurance as they do in other countries.

I am lucky to live in a relatively low traffic area but even when there are no on-coming cars in the lane ahead, I get close passed way too many times (It's a 4 feet rule where I live). I have a camera now and record as I ride for evidence in case of a crash. I need to look into if I can report drivers here in the USA as you can in the UK. You should not feel bad about reporting a bad driver. I really think the best punishment would be to make them ride a bike for 5 miles on a busy road. That might change their mindset. Sometimes I just think they have no idea what it feels like to be on a bike with cars whizzing by because they've never experienced it.
