  • Here's how Arduino Cloud's powerful variables syncing feature gives you an easy, highly customizable smart lighting system for your home automation setup. And it doesn't just have to be lights - this is the foundation for controlling and automating all kinds of different appliances around the house.

    Hi.
I see that MKR relay shield can switch up to 60V power voltage. Does it exist a relay shield that could handle 220V AC ? And connect lights that works with this voltage?

Is it also possible to have Ethernet wired Arduinos - like a machine control board - become connected to the Arduino IoT Cloud? I prefer to have the heating system to be connected hard-wired...

How would we control lights we didn’t have access to the wiring for, like overhead lights and fans?

There is a way to get at the wiring. I have not does it with lights but with power outlets when you take the cover off from the wall you can get access to the wires there. Its the same with lights I just havent done it with lights yet so but it would be the same kind of process.

Thank you for sharing. Are there easily identifiable access links used by other users? Or does it have to be integrated first?

This is very cool for simple on-off control of lighting. My question is I would like to control an RGB smart bulb such as those made by Feit or Wiz using an Arduino. Basically replacing the vendor apps that are used to control these devices with Arduino code running on an Arduino and communicating to the bulb via Wi-Fi. And I'd like to control these bulbs dynamically just as I could with a simple RGB LED. Is this possible and if so how do you do it. Thanks.

Did they ever respond to you? Would love to know how to do that as well.

All Cloud dashboards are accessible using the free Remote IoT apps from Arduino

This would be awesome if it would work over cellular also. I tried to do that with an Arduino SIM card but I could not get the SIM card to work reliably. I needed to use a 3rd party SIM card. If you look on your projects there aren’t any that use the Arduino SIM card. Arduino needs to rectify this problem!

You can easily spin up an MQTT server and port forward it from your home.

You're not wrong, actually. Some more content around the SIM would be good - I'll pass that along, and see what we can do!

@@codeWithNoComments I did not want to use it at home. We do a lot of traveling in our truck camper with our cat and dog. Sometimes we want to leave the animals while we explore. We were very worried that the camper could be too hot for them so I created a temperature monitor that sends me a text message when the camper gets too hot.

    Hi nice one there
How can I share the dashboard with my guest I don't want him to have access to my bedroom

In this case you'd make a new dashboard with fewer controls available, and share that one with your guests.
