Most all fast food employees are making at least minimum wage and are usually not allowed to take tips. Owners operators are increasing cost of food by expecting tips. Tipping should be limited to table service where service is required.
Resturant loans in California range from $50,000 to $500,000 dollars. The business extended plan for repayment should cover employees wages, food costs and fixed expenses.
@@cjfree4616You know in other countries, the same franchises are charging the same prices and paying a higher minimum wage and higher taxes, so that’s completely bs
The coffee place wasn't really more expensive than Starbucks, tbh. An iced matcha costs about the same there and definitely doesn't have lavender. Also the taco place's logo looks like Perry the Platypus LMAO
@gllyflower nope,I live in california. She is from San Diego right or OC? Even there no one tips in the drive thru or even inside. I mean there are prompts and Starbucks probably gets the most tips, but it's not common practice.
Interesting, I wouldn’t call any of these places “luxury”, just slightly nicer than your standard drive thru. But it was interesting to see the food/bev you got.
As a european, I only tip staff that did an exceptional job. Even in more luxurious places their employer is supposed to pay them more. Here, a tip is supposed to be an apprecietion of an exceptional service, and it should go straight to their pocket. I'm still surprised it's a must in the US.
best gadget gal on youtube so fun to watch in the older days it was called a drive in the girls came to you on roller skates that was some expensive avocado toast
I feel like the prices in a lot of those places were reasonable. Or maybe I just think that everything in California is supposed to be a lot more expensive than it is in Texas.
Isn’t that just because the Canadian dollar is worth less than the American dollar…so everything is typically more expensive in Canada for the same products
a mcchicken is $5.39 Canadian which is the equivalent to $4 US. it’s between $1-3 US depending on the state (MI is $1 and MA is $3), with the average being $1.74, the canadian equivalent of $1.34-4.02 or $2.33. in the UK, it’s £4.69 which is 7.98 CAD or 5.96 USD.
“Aesthetic” is used oddly here. Something may have XYZ aesthetic, or people may have opinions about the quality or choice of something’s aesthetic, but a thing or place doesn’t just “have aesthetic”. It’s not a synonym for “style” in this way.
@@jayp1034 “Aesthetic” is being used as a noun here, though, which requires more information. Adjectives describe nouns: “It’s an aesthetic choice” (describing “choice”) or “His interest is purely aesthetic” (describing “interest”). That’s not what’s happening here. You wouldn’t say “X has wavy” (the adjective) but “X has waves” (the noun) instead. To use “aesthetic” as a noun, as it is here (the direct object of the sentence, as in “X has Y”), calls for a descriptor to precede it, even if just an article (“X has Z aesthetic” or “X has the aesthetic of Z”). “Style” can stand alone because it can be absent, whereas everything has a “look and feel” (or “aesthetic” as a noun), even if it’s not remarkable enough to usually comment on. (Perhaps “style” was once the same, but the idea of “lacking style” has been around for awhile. Even if someone were to shorten “lacking a definable aesthetic” into a similar idea, they would still say “lacking an aesthetic”, not “lacking aesthetic” - the first construction is illogical but arguably acceptable as hyperbole, but the second is so ungrammatical that it would distract from any figurative intent.) If you’re still not convinced, see the examples here: www.dictionary.com/browse/aesthetic or dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/aesthetic (or any standard dictionary of your choice).
When you know you will be eating a lot for the day, it can be helpful to plan on putting it in the freezer or frig to eat another day so you don't need to order a smaller version or end up overeating.
I mean the pasta looked pretty good (although the sauce was a little runny for my taste). She's right it did have a lot of whole quality ingredients, but not $25 good or whatever the pasta was on its own.
The “miscommunication” feels like it was likely on your end. You showed you making your other orders but cut that part out. As a viewer, it seems like you asked for the wrong thing. They didn’t make up for anything, they fixed a problem.
Jarys Italian in Glendora, CA is a drive thru Italian restaurant and it’s AMAZING. The place doesn’t look so great on the outside but the food is amazing .

It's still not that bad for some of em - you go to Burger King these days leave spending literally over $20 just for two separate meals if you don't use their promos
There's Fazoli's, which is a great example of a pasta drive through! I love their pesto chicken with penne noodles! I'm not sure if there's a Fazoli's on the west coast though but definitely in South and South Eastern!
The pasta from Tutto Fresco looked soooo good 🤤 the tacos from Mesita looked amazing as well but.... the gasp i gusped at the price of the bean and cheese 😅
eh idk about that cause they’re gas is way more than nyc & their rent/mortgage prices i think are about the same if not worse in some places of Cali. I just think you get more for what you pay for there
When you consider alot of people are making down to like 13 an hour and a meal from McDonald's is around 21, yeah its expensive. I only shop at dollar tree and my boyfriend makes around 500 a week but a little over 500 a month has to go to just keeping a car insured and not repossessed, so after that and rent we're still broke. Nothing goes as far as you think it does. It's like Americans saying the Phillipines and other countries are so cheap. Yeah when you're coming from a different currency but for the locals it isn't lol
you should've got the crispy pork belly at carrot and daikon since that's their best seller. i've got it many times and it's so good and the pork belly is the best you can get for that price

Most all fast food employees are making at least minimum wage and are usually not allowed to take tips. Owners operators are increasing cost of food by expecting tips. Tipping should be limited to table service where service is required.
Owners are increasing cost of food because minimum wage is higher so overhead is higher and food supply costs are higher.
