Done, This vid was so good for me. You have a great teaching manner and I imagine this will bring on a lot of new aviators. I'm 55 and only flown once, about 20yrs ago in a low wing twin engine aircraft (crazy story). Wish that i'd took lessons after that, if I ever did go for lessons i would hope that my instructor was as plesant and calm as you. Mark. England.
I am an instructor myself and it is refreshing to see you be so patient with BOTH of them. You let her fly so much by herself and it indicates you took the time to explain terms/items before the flight. Teach why not just what, it was enjoyable to watch!

I wouldn't be able to handle an instructor like that. There are a lot of great instructors also, like yourself, who are down to earth, personable and friendly. "No known traffic" (or anything else ATC says which gives you permission to take-off) means it's YOUR responsibility (as the pilot) to make sure the runway, base & final approach, and the sky above the runway are clear of traffic.
Hi there, I’m only a simulator pilot but what I really liked on the lesson is that you made clear that the airplane can fly itself, and how it reacts at low (stall) speed and recovers itself. That makes the student pilot feel safe, giving confidence and trust in the airplane. I can’t imagine a more important lesson at the beginning! 👍
I bet every flight instructor probably does things a little different, but in the end that day when we taxi off to the ramp and he gets out and your on your own, I learned at a busy airport, with airlines coming in and out. Very good video. I took 1 flight lesson in a tail dragger at 18 year of age. As I remember, none of the gauges worked, gas gauge was a red rag tied to a wire sticking out of the cowl. Watching you teach is delightful. My very first instructor gave me a sour taste of aviation. Constantly yelling at me in the cockpit with no correction or explanation for what I was doing wrong. Excellent teacher. I flew with an instructor and a mechanic at a Cessna dealership and flight school. We were on a test flight in a 172. The instructor let the mechanic fly and try to land the aircraft. Now this was back in 1971. Befor any LCD instrument screens, Wi-Fi, or any of that modern day instrumentation. As we approached the runway to land the mechanic hit the tail hook on the pavement 3 times befor the instructor took over. The instructor never gave any info like you did in this video. I did not know landing was that simple and easy. The plane was landing itself.
I’m 15 and starting flight lessons every other week, it is really fun and my instructor is great too. I fly in a Bristol (Bristel?) which is not currently rated to fly in the clouds, but is really easy to control and manage the systems/avionics.

Hello, im a freshman student at usu and in reality I was doubting myself about becoming a pilot. I’ve been studying my senior year of Highschool but I just had a lot of doubt. When I look at this channel I realized that it looks so amazing to learn how to fly a plane and I wanna work hard for it. I learned about how when you make trims that it relieves the control pressure when the altitude has been changed. I want to be a pilot and I’m going to keep watching your videos cause it amazes me how cool it is to fly.
I took some lessons, but I gave up, thinking I would never relax and have the confidence. Seeing this makes me feel the urge again. Best wishes to the student!
Very cool, i am a new pilot in training and thank my friend pilot for his training, it is a great feeling being in control of such machines that defy gravity under your control, enjoying it every moment.
WHAT AN AMAZING demonstration of stalls, slow speed and the stability of the aircraft! That was soooooo good, and i am going to use it for my students when I start instructing!
Super glad she's going down that path! We all love seeing new pilots be born! I got my PPL in June of this year, and it's really interesting just going back to the basics to reinforce the foundations.
You are a great teacher showing how the trim can help or hurt and that stall demonstrating builds alot of confidence that the plane wants to fly it doesnt like to stop flying and that stalls are not this aggressive nose snaps down things hit the ceiling event
Thanks for posting this! I'm about to take my CFI checkride. I'm a little nervous to take a student up for the first time but this is really re-assuring to see.
I watched your video which relevant to my future because in my spare education I wish someday to fly planes. I am very inspired and motivated from your plane flying lesson video. Thank you for such video has the great opportunity to push me forward.
I grew up in Alaska and lived in Homer for 10 years! I flew all the time there and would love to get my license some day. I’m so excited to find your channel! Little bit of home and aviation.
I got to experience this for the first time yesterday. My cousin’s husband has been flying plane’s & helicopters for 45 years, from the Army. He bought a very small Cessna, at 6’2” I could barely get in it. But I was invited to go flying, so I went. You were discussing trim, I’m a little confused about that. And I think you & my in-law were using the terminology different. You also didn’t discuss thermal pressure, what the weather & air are doing. As we were flying yesterday, I was doing mainly sight seeing at first. Then I started studying all the dials. And his Garmin computer was set up to show all the radio frequencies, the 10 mile radius on the map at each airport we came across on the route. He also did a flight plan, how long it took, and once he reported his take off, and landing, nobody was looking for us. But you did mention driving with fingers. When I tried to drive, I was manhandling too much. He told me the plane flies itself better than anyone can. So that’s what the trim is for? All in all, the first thing I thought about before boarding the plane, I haven’t done my will yet, we aren’t carrying parachutes. But I had full faith in my pilot’s ability & experience. My concerns were that a lot of the airports aren’t controlled, just give you weather info. But on the Garmin it showed what traffic was in the area. And we didn’t see any other planes as we were in the air. I guess when you’re flying 1000 feet above the ground & below the clouds there may not be traffic much, especially on a Sunday. I actually enjoyed the experience. I’m considering taking flying lessons. But as far as a full commitment to flying, nowadays the planes & insurance for them aren’t affordable. Then you have taxes if you keep them in an in-state hangar. I think of flying like motorcycling; can be addictive and at the same time risky. I’m also wanting to learn how to ride a bike.
I enjoyed your first lesson I bet she had a blast I think you're a wonderful instructor I'm looking to buy myself a plane also get my private pilot's license
really awsome. my first time in a 172 the plane was trimmed for the climbout and i was left to wrestle with it for an hour. no time to even look around. Very tiring expeperience. It wasnt a flight school and i sat right seat so perhaps it was set up to discourage me
I love planes and I've dreamt for a long time to become a pilot but was allways afraid of it and didn't believe I could do it but this video gives me a lot of courrage and confidence! Thank you! 😊
That was awesome, I'm saving up to start my path towards my CPL license gotta get my RPL and PPL first wish it wasn't so expansive as I want to start already especially after watching this I hope all mentors are like you
Chris, Great job on another video. I really like training style videos as there is always something to learn if a guy is paying attention. I never really had anyone explain over turning tendencies like that. I guess I have always just corrected them and never realized it. Now know more I can probably handle it in a more precise manor. Thank you for all the time and effort you and the Angle of Attack crew put into making great videos.
I’m watching you and Ms. through the video, i have zero flight training whatsoever. But i feel like I understand pretty much so far and now I’m interested. You’re a very talent instructor, sir.
Love this video!! I always thought about taking a compact course to get my PPL... on the back of reading Learning To Fly In 21 Days, by Phil Stone... this being in Florida, or somewhere with enough of a constant weather pattern, so I could get my licence asap! Still, at a young 61, I am going to obtain my PPL some time! 😁 Steve, London, UK

Yup, gotta keep going back to the basics, always.
Please am from Nigeria. An aspiring pilot. Please i need guīdance
Enjoyed the flight video as I am in the process of getting started on earning my private pilot certification in Tennessee. You are a great instructor!
You are a great teacher showing how the trim can help or hurt and that stall demonstrating builds alot of confidence that the plane wants to fly it doesnt like to stop flying and that stalls are not this aggressive nose snaps down things hit the ceiling event
This was great thank you! I’m a newer cfi this will help me a lot with brand new students on how to better structure a first lesson!
This is how I personally do it. Of course, taylor to your needs. In the beginning, I think it's all about stick and rudder work.
Thanks for posting this! I'm about to take my CFI checkride. I'm a little nervous to take a student up for the first time but this is really re-assuring to see.
Trim i have learned is one of your most helpful tools!
That's right!
My wife enjoys being an active participant in the cockpit so she is learning the basics of handling an airplane. This video was super helpful!
Happy to hear!
I watched your video which relevant to my future because in my spare education I wish someday to fly planes.
I am very inspired and motivated from your plane flying lesson video.
Thank you for such video has the great opportunity to push me forward.
Liked how you explained about the trim. Really simply but accurately wow.
That was awesome you're a good teacher
Thank you! 😊
You are an awesome instructor. I'll be doing my bucketlist when I retire. I hope I come along an instructor like you. Godspeed.
Great lesson! easy to follow. I'm just now investigating what it will take and how much time and money it will take.
That was awesome, I'm saving up to start my path towards my CPL license gotta get my RPL and PPL first wish it wasn't so expansive as I want to start already especially after watching this I hope all mentors are like you
I've been watching lots of IFR flying and it's great to watch and learn VFR seat-of-the-pants flying. I'm inspired to give it a try.
You are an amazing instructor! Love the overall attitude and atmosphere (two puns).
I took my discovery flight 5 months ago,I love airplane ✈️. You are a good instructor god bless you.
Just started my first day of flight school yesterday excited to start!
Hows the flight school
@@malikcutchin hated it and now I’m in fire school to become a firefighter🤣
@@kyledixon6239 it's not for everyone let me tell ya. You will find something you will like to do eventually
Hey! Loved this video thanks so much. Just wondering if you have any videos on the theory side of things. I’m interested in the basics 🙏🏻
I'm not a pilot but fly MSFS 2020, these video's and your explantions of things have really improved my simulator flying. Thanks
on my first ever flight, my instructor took of, climbed about 3000ft and then gave me controls. Very nice takeoff with smooth and small yoke movements for first time. well done!!
