If you have any significant medical history, it can take up to a year to get a medical. I’m a cancer survivor and I had to come up with an extra $3500 for neuropsychological and heart testing, and that included going through referral loopholes so I could qualify to use my health insurance, otherwise it would have been over 5k in testing. Also the neuropsychological test cannot qualify for insurance. My tests went well and after 8 months I finally got my first class medical with no neuropsychological impairment and no heart issues.
Some of us should be blessed because I don’t have the same issue but I have to spend money on fixing my passport that can take 8 months but keep pushing it’s all just fuel dreams are never impossible
@@_hmineee case by case basis. Any form of cancer will pretty much get you deferred no matter how recent you have been in remission. As long as you do not need any medication and do not have any problems after remission, you should be able to get a special issuance first class medical (what I have). For my scenario, I just have to get an after visit summary from my remission doctor saying I am healthy and visit my AME every year until 2029 (after that the FAA will let me know next steps for renewal TBD). No matter what, get your medical before beginning flight school. Us cancer survivors literally cannot predict when we can receive our medicals. Also be prepared for the extra upfront costs of any testing and do not give up. I personally know an airline pilot that survived thyroid cancer and now flies for Southwest. Wishing you many years of remission.

Do you have any tips to keep motivation up? I am currently learning with your ground school however I feel like I’m studying less and less because I feel like I’m not retaining the information and it makes learning not fun if I’m not actually “learning.”
Here are two things that have worked for us: 1. The best way to retain information is to "recall" it. Flashcards are a great way to do this, and we have a dedicated flashcard app for this reason. Quizzes are fantastic, too (we have exciting news to share about this soon). Watch the lessons, but combine other learning methods to keep retention high. 2. If you're struggling with the motivation to start a study session, use the "20-minute rule." Only commit to 20 minutes of studying, with no exceptions. The most difficult part of studying is getting started. If you only commit to 20 minutes, it makes it a lot easier to start. The best part? You will almost always study for more than 20 minutes once you get going!
Just keep at it. Repeat lessons. Watch youtube videos on the subjects you struggle more with. It will eventually click. I felt I had gotten at least a 70 but I got a 92 on my written. I really studied on calculations and E6B as well as the cx3 calculator. Turns out I only got 2 calculation questions. Everything was informational. I found that I had retained a lot of info.

If you go the degree route like at Embry Riddle, you can get federal loans. BUT! It’s not enough because the government only pays for educational expenses and flying is not the education side. @@PilotInstituteAirplanes thank you very much! Much appreciated and I am looking forward to become a potential pilot!
I would say best and cheapest way to do it is by going to air-force
I'm assuming I need my driver's license before I can get certified to fly a plane???
Nope, a driver's license is not required to become a pilot.
Hey just to say about to graduate high school so I am planning to get degree on aeronautical engineering and then go to be a pilot for airlines Is it ok?
l have a long sight condition
Maybe in next life...❤
Do your private hours exclude from the CTP hours
Very detailed
I trust you 😊❤
Do u need a type of degree to start
Im 24 and I first obtain my cdl to pay off my credit card debt I’m 24 if I use a year to pay everything off and so on by the time I’m 30 I should be done with everything is that an old age or is it to late ?
It’s never too late. I’m 35 with a CDL and I take my discovery flight this Saturday! Go for it, the sky is the limit!
@@mrbwashington88 how’s it going so far sir I’m ready to do this first I got to pay my debts then save what’s your approach any advice
What if someone fails the private pilot certificate? Or the commercial pilot certificate would you have to pay again or take another loan again to try again ?
so here's what i get, so overall you spend for about around 2,5 - 3 years with full good experiance that needed to be a commercial pilot right?
well if your really good and rich you can prob knock it out in 1.6 year or smt
@@da4realz sounds good
one question is it still okay to apply for piloting exam from a different country instead of my country?
if it's possible im looking forward to taking the piloting exam test
Looks like I'm sticking with my flight sims...the cost is insane. Sucks that is such a huge barrier to entry for those of us that want to fly.
What if I don't how anything about aviation
Is it not 1500 hours of flight to become a captain, not to work for the airline as a copilot?
First officers also have the same restrictions.
I WAS A TRUCK DRIVER AND NOW LOST THAT JOB DUE TO A STROKE INAPRIL 9TH OF THIS YEAR BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I COULD GET A CAREER IN COMMERCIAL FLYINGAS A PILOT? WITH A PAST STROKE AND ALSO HAVE TYPE 2 DIABETES ? I JUSTY DONTWANT TO ACCEPT DISABILITY CHECKS FROM THEGOVERNMENT CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?IM JUST NOT SURE BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT THEFAA MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS ARE
IS YOUR CAPS LOCK BROKEN
My dream will come true one day❤❤❤
Which one is the best in India
Sadly the biggest thing I took from this is that if you don’t have $200k you shouldn’t even bother.
Need to win the lotto
Loan. Costs the same as college
Where is y'all guys school?
Is this program it is also for Canada ?
Would the GI bill covered this?
Yes
That’s exactly what I plan to do with mine
I'm 40 years old... is it too late? will an airline even consider me being old and with few hours?
I'm 44 and wish I started at a young age to become an airline pilot. I can only afford to pay my mortgage and currently, I just fly on my home pc simulator with MSFS2020 and some study level add-ons.
Nice video with all very good information. I just subscribed to your channel. 😊👍👍💯👆👆🙏🙏
Fuckit I’m Prior military and I’m going for it !!!!
Do you have to go to university before ?
It will take how many years ?
Amazing
How can I fund the costs involved?
I've heard that you can't become a pilot if you have bad eyesight (witch I do), is that true?
If you get the right glasses, you should be fine
Does this apply to a specific country or are they applicable to every country. i.e. I live in Aussie
US.
I’m seeing people talking about the cost as an obstacle! Trust me, if it’s really your dream you’ll find a way; if not that’s not for you!!! Money can’t be the reason why we can’t afford to turn our dreams into reality! Come on guys!!!
How can we achieve our dreams when we don't have money? It's better to be a little realistic.
@@behrouzfarahani9637 I totally understand your point of view, but if you live in the United States, then you still got options like financing with loan that you’ll pay back or joining the Air Force Academy
@@MorvanGandaho Ok
im a pilot and i wanted to see if he were to be correct
Was he ? And do you mind if i ask you for the total costs ?
So you can’t get started without the 120k to get licensed?
You don’t need all the money up front.
I am 15 years old now can i become pilot of air canada at the age of 20?
Im a sixth grader and im ready to be a pilot for A good airline
It's all about hard work and discipline
True
And if you can afford it
Very informative video. I had no idea it's so expensive and takes so much time. Better start your training early in your youth and have a rich daddy. Or join the military.
Does my gi bill cover this
Can u help me to achieve my dream to be pilot❤
what is the age restriction pls
16 for ppl
18-21 for commercial and airlines
Is your flight school in Canada or USA
Nope
When js the best age to start the path?
As soon as u finish highschool
@@siphesihle1524 Do you know if you can go to college and flight school at the same time?
@@Cerxts Pilot training requires a lot of time and attention, if u can though, i wouldn't recommend it
