I didn't know who this guy was until today, but I really like him. The business aspect of the gaming industry is incredibly interesting to me so this conversation had me engaged the entire time. Great chat, guys. Thank you
Personally I was very excited to see you guys start talking about Warframe. But, hopefully this doesn’t come off as aggressive as the “other” people you mentioned. But wasn’t a fan of how much Ruri pushed his opinion on its market/weapon system when it’s nearly 12 years out of date. LD was even explaining that’s not how it is anymore, it be ignored and then double down and say POE2 shouldn’t have it like Warframe, when it’s one of the most consumer friendly free to play games out there. But yes I do agree that slots and crafting timers aren’t a healthy thing to have still.
The only thing that I wish dragons dogma 2 had more of was story/meaningful dialogue. The end of the game happened and I had no clue how or why things were happening
same they missed the mark so bad with the story and pacing, seems like the game was rushed out to please investors given the performance and they way the game just ends at what feel like a half way point story wise with none of the plot points coming to any conclusion
@@graemeclark6680 dragon's dogma 2 has an awesome story, it just isn't told through exposition or anything, you just have to pay attention and think about what's happening.
@@Vivi-Sected nah I’m sorry not really, it’s not that I didn’t understand what was happening it’s more that what’s happening didn’t make sense or that the plot points didn’t lead to each other in a way that made any sense either
There's a quote about politics that's interesting and a constant need to remind people. "You might not be interested in politics but politics is very interested in you" there may be more to that that I can't recall. But to me it says while you can ignore, eventually it starts affecting you in ways you can't ignore.
*Warhammer inquisitor martyr* is a pretty solid Diablo clone with couch and online coop. Not sure how it holds for non 40k fan, but the biggest issue for me is too much content. Personally I like all the systems, loot, and player expression that opens up, but I can see it being a drag for some
I used to think Jason Schrier was one of the better games journalists based on his work in the past. But around Dragonage, he revealed he's just another one in the club.
LD calling Metaphor just another Persona game is a really reductive way of looking at the game. It does a lot to differentiate itself from Persona. It’s like calling Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance just another persona game.
Ruri with the genshin stamina...i been playing for two + years 100% every region.and stamina hasnt been an issue for the last year .mainly because your stamina goes up through statues you level up and even now some of the characters just make the stamina system a non issue... but as ruri(not asmon) says...it is what it is (look at the next busted character Mavuika coming out...you ride her motorcycle on water and up cliffs😂
The problem is that the launch experience for Gemshin wasn't that good. I played it for a couple of months when it came out, but I got bored and moved on. And once a game like that loses players, it almost never gets them back. Maybe they'll address it in Genshin 2. And keep in mind I actually play a bunch of gacha games at work, including HSR. So I don't mind that kind of game generally. But Genshin lost me. Also, locking QoL features behind limited characters kind of sucks, and isn't going to encourage a lot of people to jump in.
POE 2 does seem legit I’m tired of Blizzard screwing up the Diablo franchise and maybe this will be a good replacement. I don’t mind spending cash on a F2P game, but I have limits and it’s nowhere near over $400 for a game. I hope it stays true to what I’ve been seeing and hearing people say about the game!
I was terminally online and un-ironically liked d3 when there was real money auctionhouse because it was actually hard nightmare 2 was ass r*pe but that was fun. After they took the autionhouse out they made the game boringly easy.
Yeah if the story was really good it would actually be painted in a way better light because despite popular belief there’s a pretty good size section of people who can put game issues aside for a good narrative, it isn’t always gameplay.
I think he's kind of wrong about the helldivers situation. People knew the Sony linking was coming it was in the news cycle that whole month "the day of" didn't matter when people knew weeks before it was happening I'd say the balance issue was half of it and the Sony linking knocked the wind out of people well in advance because they knew it was coming
No one in my group knew it was happening, that’s a group of 33 people who played it every weekend and are fairly deep in games media. If you knew I’m surprised because I never remember seeing anything about it, if it was a message when opening the game then I missed it because I skip intro videos and messages.
ruri is so wrong about genshin and the stamina system, only dungeons cost stamina and if he means for exploration, he needs to explore to improve it lol, its their progression system
I played Genshin at launch for a couple months, and the fact that any meaningful progression was locked behind stamina was terrible. Especially once you've explored everywhere and had nothing else to do. This is coming from someone who really enjoyed HSR & WuWa, so it's not like I just hate gacha games or HoYo.
Afaik only one review from a french site had an extrnsive critique of Stellar Blade regarding the portrayal of the MC. So I do not see this outrage youre talking about. Game reviewed well, but was overall very derivative. My partner played it (she loves Bayo so you get why), I watched it, it looked okay but it was just a good attempt, nothing amazing. My wife and I are both trans btw, the nebulous "woke" every gamer seems to hate nowadays, just so we're clear where Im coming from. The only people who threw fits about it were grifters and Grummz, who if you still take seriously, I pity you greatly.
I assume most of the outrage they’re referring to was on social media and not official game reviews, and as with everything on social media it’s blown way out of proportion (both the what is being raged about and the outrage itself) and taken too seriously. Fortunately internet shenanigans ≠ real life, for the most part.
@@Don9872 Oh yeah Twitter will throw a fit about everything, that's not an accurate represantation about how people actually feel about the game though and I fear more and more people in this weirdo culture war (especially anti-woke) actually use it as a basis for their reasoning. Either you have no clue how to identify somebody who is obnoxious, have seen less than 20 minutes of LD's content and made an uneducated and incorrect assumption, or more likely, he had an opinion that most of us agree with that you don't agree with and you're using obnoxious as a way to defend your own feelings, lmfao. If you want another fun Pokémon type of experience then try out a game called Nexomon.
People dropped helldivers 2 when the bots were wiped off the map in that big push before the sony account linking
Yeah I think a lot of people felt like they won the game at that point.
@ only for the bots to come back full force a day later it made all that effort feel meaningless
