I bought one and love it, not afraid to use it because of the price.

I finally got a chance to watch this video. You really pounded the heck out of that blade and it survived. Well done.

I agree with you about D2 for a survival type knife , and the flat grind. I enjoy this your videos ! Your background shots remind me of home ! Lollol !

I watched DBK Bushcrafters test out the ColdSteel Learherneck D2 knife the other day and was amazing how much abuse their D2 can take. They chopped a brick and the rim of a 55 gallon drum and the blade was almost perfect. It withstood ridiculous abuse. Apparently, ColdSteel has a really good heat treat on their D2. Who knows if Lothar's heat treat is as good. Looks like an awesome knife.

Next time, save a thin piece of wood a little thicker than the knife to use as a wedge after the knife is deep enough to leave a crack. Driive the wedge to follow the blade.

That's a good method for splitting but I wanted to test the toughness of the D2 instead.

The real question after all that testing is how the edge held up or if it dulled. Can you still shave with it afterwards? 🤔 (The ladies love that "Spruce" aftershave smell too!)

At 7:45 that's a "faux" Carbon fiber weave pattern. I like the looks a lot, as well as your _hat_ which looks just like mine!? That a Barmah crushable leather hat?
