    Sadly they got rid of the 10gb network port?? But I’ll be buying

    • @kopitech
      @kopitech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's most likely because of WiFi 7. WiFi 7 has the potential to reach 30Gbps. Eclipsing the ethernet port. Maybe we're still at infancy but best believe we are heading there already.

      You can put a 10 GB card in it it's a strategy to make more money

    Does the previous version of Z790 like the ROG Maximus Hero able to fit with 14th gen 14900K?

    Will an aio work with those holes?

    • @kopitech
      @kopitech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From the looks of the composition, an AIO might not do the work. But we have yet to finish testing, so I'll be taking a look at how it performs passively.

  • @LBH91

    Do you have to water cool it with tubing or can I just liquid cool it with a 360 aio

    • @kopitech

      You can use an aio, but it will just cool the CPU but not the VRMs

    What is your opinion? High end motherboards seem to have 1 M2 slot (Gen 5) which shares bandwidth with PCIEX16(G5)_2. When M.2_1 is enabled, PCIEX16(G5)_2 will be disabled and PCIEX16(G5)_1 will run x8 only. So is it a significant tradeoff to give up performance of your primary M2 (Gen5 to Gen4) or bandwidth of your GPU?

    • @awpfade
      @awpfade ปีที่แล้ว +1

      currently even the 4090 is gen 4 x16 which is the same as gen 5 x8. so unless you intend on upgrading to the 5090 or some other next gen card it wont make a difference. but do you really need a gen 5 nvme ssd? i can guarantee you that you wont feel a difference

    I really want to get this motherboard because it's so pretty. The problem is I don't plan to build a fully watercooled system and I'll only stick with AIO cooling for now. I wish they brought this design to cheaper models and without the watercooling options. I'm currently looking at the white NZXT Z790 to pair with Intel's 14th gen. Thanks for making this video :)

    • @mysticqro950

      The Rog Strix Z790-A gaming wifi II, is also a good looking WHITE motherboard :) and it’s cheaper.

    • @TheDarkhierarch
      @TheDarkhierarch ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't need a water-cooling system in order to use this mobo. They stated this during the ASUS mobo premiere breakdown. It's an optional feature.

    • @kopitech
      @kopitech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDarkhierarch manufacturers will tell you a-z, but it's up to people like us to disapprove their claims. And i can verify that there is a performance drop when not running liquid through it. In short, it is possible to run it on air, but there will be a slight performance difference as being ran on liquid.

      Thoughts on the Z790 A Gaming wifi II? I bought one of those to pair with my 4090 and 14900k build. Waiting on the rest of the parts as we speak. Im building an all white build so weren't any other options from rog. Seems like a phenomenal board based on my research.@@kopitech

    I'm about to buy a whole new build. But now I'm not sure what motherboards are proper for an I7-14700K. Is the Motherboard ASUS PRIME Z790-P still a good option? What would you recommend? It would be awesome if you could check out my whole build and let me know your opinion :D
