@TimotheeReacts I was curious have you ever seen the entire puss in boots series? because there was another movie and a tv show after the first Puss in Boots movie
Not fun fact about this movies story: Antonio Banderas had a heart attack 6 years ago, and a sequel almost never happened because of it. If the story feels more emotional and personal, it's because it is.
If you think about it, based on the number of people Horner killed, it makes perfect sense why it took a while for the Death Wolf to catch Puss until The Cave of Souls. He was too busy with his job! Wagner Moura delivered a phenomenal performance and made the character so creepy and sinister with just his voice.
I thought that too. Death made no appearance toward Puss after the initial meeting until he makes it to that crystal cavern. He’s got other unfortunate souls to claim amongst Big Jack’s men.
I wonder if that was done intentionally to explain why he would show up, but then not actually pursue Puss. Or if it's just a coincidence, and the writers were only concerned with developing a menacing build-up.
I still consider Death to be one of the best animated characters from Dreamworks. After recently rewatching the movie, the effect that Death left on me still lingers, emitting intimidation, suspense, and spine-tingling vibes. Hope to see him again in the future, which I’m pretty sure we will because of how popular he is.
You know you have a great antagonist when just his trademark sound has everyone sitting up straight, like Darth Vader. Darth Kennedy can try to push Fail Rey Palpatine and Kylo Blah as much as she wants, but neither of them commands the same respect as Darth Vader’s breathing.
There's a theory that Kitty lied about not showing up at the wedding so as to spare Puss' feelings. If she really didn't show up, then why was she this angry earlier?
Because despite herself not showing up either, she's angry that he had the audacity to stand her up. Or maybe she was waiting outside the church at a closer location waiting for him to show up, and because he never did, she also never actually entered the church herself. Could also be that because Puss is always so arrogant, she wanted him to feel guilty to make him feel some manner of humility, or make him admit that he has feelings for somebody other than himself.
I honestly never thought that highly of the first puss in boots movie, so I just expected the last wish to be another mediocre cash grab that everyone would forget about in a couple years. But Jesus was I wrong. The last wish is easily one of the best kids movies I’ve ever seen.
@@Jreator I think it's because the guy called it a kid's movie... which it is. I think they are making the mistake of thinking that's a bad thing. A great movie is a great movie, doesn't matter for what demographic it was made.
Death's whistle always gives me the chills, even after repeated watches of this movie - I also love the little detail of Goldi's dress progressively going from blue to brown, symbolizing the transition from her wanting a human family to appreciating her bear family
Deaths whistle was done by the voice actor himself. Goldis outfit and appearance is meant to show how she's been raised by the bears. Her hair looks like bear ears, her earrings are mismatched like Mama Bear, the necklace and her eyes are the same as Baby Bear's, and the scars over her eyebrow match Papa Bears missing eye
On the part about Goldi's dress changing, I've probably seen about 20 reactions to this movie and I never noticed that part. Thank you for pointing that out.
Perito resting his head on Puss's chest/stomach while he's having a panic attack is an actual real life technique called "deep pressure therapy". Almost every service/therapy dog is trained for it. It helps reset your nervous system and can bring you out of an anxiety or panic attack. I lost my shit when I saw that in the theater. It's normalizing something that was a stigma for so long and it's so good to see.
That part made me feel in awww when Peritto rested his head on Puss. Since to me was so cute. Also, I just now learned something new about the training for service/therapy dogs through this comment.
Compared to the 2011 original, this Puss in Boots sequel proves the story can go deep in depth and character development. For Puss to come to terms with his mortality, the one thing that keeps him going that he never realized is… love.
It also proves once again that Dreamworks has, for some reason, a Knack for making sequels of an amazing quality (boss baby 2 and Shrek the third being weird missteps)
I love how Jack just keeps the cricket around just to brake his moral world view. He even claimed to have lived in a mansion when his flashback says otherwise.
One thing I love about the final battle between Puss and Death is how no one wins, it’s a draw. Puss can’t kill death because it’s a natural force of nature and death could’ve easily killed Puss but saw that he learned his lesson. The win was an appreciation for life and mutual respect.
(36:01) That one moment where Death begrudgingly had to let Puss go because he can no longer see the arrogant persona he was pursuing. That’s symbolism for you. What kept Puss together wasn’t his sword fighting skills or wittiness, it was… love. The dagger he held to defeat Death represents that.
Considering how many variations of twisted fairy tales there are, even outside the Shrek-verse, it's frankly downright wholesome that Goldilocks' twist is... the bears adopt her!
I was very reluctant to watch this movie cause of the mixed reception I heard regarding the first Puss in Boots movie, however after I heard so many good things about it I finally decided to give it a shot! It was one of the most pleasant surprise films I've seen in my life! I didn't expect it to be THAT good! Such a great story with a beautiful message about appreciating the value of life and the simple things in it.
This movie was definitely a groundbreaking sequel. And quite an improvement for animation in the shrek series. What makes things a lot more interesting, in the first puss in boots movie, Puss and Kitty was madly in love when they first met but then he abandoned her on their wedding day in Santa Coloma after the events of the first movie and made his way to far far away and met Shrek in Shrek 2. And then after the events of Shrek forever after when Puss and Kitty reunited in his second movie, they were literally arguing and fighting like a divorced couple.
El Lobo de Muerte is such an amazing antagonist. I know some people have seen the twist right away, but I thought the whole Bounty Hunter thing. And his ease of handling Puss at the start quickly turned him into such a terrifying threat
This movie is simply spectacular. I love the gorgeous animation, top notch fight choreography, deep characters, and Puss' magnificent arc. But the best part is definitely Death, one of if not the best DreamWorks antagonist ever. His whistle still sends shivers up my spine. I like how, at the start, Puss was bragging about having "never been touched by a blade." So the moment Death was actually able to cut him, Puss became a scared, anxious mess. It's the moment he realized that he's not invincible after all.
This is not my favorite movie ever, but I truly believe it's the best, everything about this movie is fantastic. And the Wolf has gotta be one of the best characters ever, his presence alone is on it's own league. Never have I been scared by a character in a movie, but he did it. For a one-movie apparition, he's at the top, and he gives a marathon for their money to some of the most renown villains. Also, really happy there isn't a 30 minutes gap this time in the movie, compared to the previous video you did on it.
Never get tired of seeing reactions to this movie. Now THIS is how you should do a sequel. Didn't like the first one that much, but this one... man! Three different types of villanous characters, awesome character development, catchy songs, gorgeous animation, heck, it has everything! Ironic how in a movie about cats, it's the canine characters the ones that stole the show 😂
17:47 The way how Kitty looked like that when she was talking to Perrito is like a concerned mother lecturing her kids to do their homework. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is my understanding of how the star/forest work. With Goldie, the cabin bit was, in my opinion, the star trying to show her that her wish would have been wasted since she literally already had her wish. With the others, it would grant their wish as they didn’t fully have their wish. BUT, I believe the obstacles that the forest creates is to delay its death because once the wish is used, the forest dies.

I love the way Perrito was handled in this film. They could have easily made him the comic relief who screws up everything and is majorly annoying. However, his character was handled so well and so restrained
Death is based on the folkloric character of the Grim Reaper, whereas the tune he whistles is based on The Silbón, a legend associated with the Los Llanos region of Colombia and Venezuela.
Perrito is voiced by Harvey Guillén from What We Do in the Shadows, AND he also did the Spanish dub for this movie! As did Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.
I can’t believe it’s been a year since this amazing film! A Puss in Boots sequel seriously did not have to go THIS hard! It’s such a fun adventure with a great theme on the inevitably of death, fun fairy tale twists that the Shrek series is known for, gorgeous animation style, fantastic villains, and of course, Perrito! I’m interested in seeing how DreamWorks handles Shrek 5, but I know that they will deliver something awesome.
Something interesting is that the giant of del Mar wasn't fully defeated. The town goldi and the three bears walk through when they're introduced is all destroyed and the giant footprint tells us just what happened after Puss left
Appearance of the Wolf in the var strongly reminded ne about the scene in the bar at the start of Mandalorian with the Wolf being such cool "bountyhunter"
the thing wth perritos "easy and happy map" has a little dark turn. all of the free stations can be seen in a darker way. "the pocket full of posies" - posies are often resembled with "the black death", "the river of relaxation" - well.. your body is relaxing full when you are drowning, and perrito was supposed to be drowned in a river, and last but not least "field of quick and easy solution" - well.. many people that have a miserable life, thinking about one "quick and easy solution" out of it... end themself...
Objectively the better PIB movie. Death is so memorable, Puss is well weittenly humbled, Perrito is so funny, and that ending scene gave me goosbumps. Edit: yes, watch Kung Fu Panda please.~
In terms of Horner's ending, I wonder if the specific thing he did to deserve it was giving away the magic umbrella, which could have flown him out of the star.
Really loved this movie. A damn great improvement from the first one. Puss and gang are amazing. The three villains especially Death and Horner are damn good. Even the Conscience Bug is hilarious. He’s meant to be Jiminy Cricket, which is funny cause he had originally guided Pinnochio, the same guy Jack Horner lost his fame to in the flashback. He saw success with Pinnochio and massive failure with Horner
I love watching people react to Death in this movie. How you react to his whistle perfectly matches how you feel about death irl. I’m not afraid of death, so I find his whistle hauntingly beautiful. But people who are afraid of death shudder every time. To think they captured THAT kind of effect so perfectly…that’s some next level storytelling.
The last wish was such a great movie, it teaches people to accept what you have. Like you don’t need a traditional family ect to be happy. Enjoy what you have. Such great lessons for everyone😎❤
31:00 Yaknow, the last life before it’s shattered telling Puss to run and get more lives goes to show he’s always been afraid of the end. His past lives are all there making fun of him and calling him a coward without them but it seems they’re all just as scared of death and being forgotten. They just weren’t the ones staring death in the fac the way current Puss is.
We got all the 3 big villain archetypes here! Jack Horner: The irredeemable monster. Goldilocks: The sympathetic one who can be redeemed. Death Wolf: The unstoppable force of nature.
Probably already mentioned, but I didn’t see it. So fun facts! During the Giant fight the bell rings eight times, one for each of Puss’ deaths. The eighth ring happens when the bell drops on Puss ending his eighth life. When Puss’ wanted poster appears, there’s Talley marks numbering eight scratched into the wood. Puss’ ‘Death Cards’ as I call them, when he was remembering the times he died with the Doctor/Barber, the corners are all the faces Death. Death really was there for Puss on his eighth death. He was behind the crowd in the alleyway when the crowd was doing the wave. It’s a ‘blink and miss it’ moment. At the bar where Puss meets Death, there are eight empty shot glasses and Death interrupted his ninth glass. Death really is everywhere in this movie huh?
The bears using smell to track Puss made me remember something I read. While not all types of bears are EXACTLY the same here, Polar bears have a sense of smell that is estimated to be 50 times as acute as that of a Blood Hound. (they can track)
I remember watching this movie at the cinema and being like..."This guy (Death) has to be the most metal character I've seen in a movie". Everything about him is so sinister and hardcore.
There is so much hidden in this movie. Like yes there is the obvious of the wolf in the crowd during the giant fight, but also the bell he was swinging rings 8 times, the last one when it lands on puss's 8th life. Then you have blink and you miss it moments like the Goldi wanted poster revealing her true intentions. You show it off here as well. Pause the video at 12:04 and see what is carved out of the letters when all 4 portraits are on screen. Last I'll bring up is Perrito's map locations being very dark and disturbing, yet hidden behind innocent labels. Pocket full of posies being a plague reference. River of relaxation being the river styx. The field of quick and easy solutions.... well that one is the darkest so I will let you guess. I'll give you a hint though. That map marker has pictures of what are called "Hangmans trees". In the end this movie went hard, packed in so many amazing moments and characters, and is hands down one of my favorite animated movie made.
31:00 In DC comics, when the Wally West Flash was being chased by the Black Flash aka Death, he had to run to the end of time where death is no longer a concept, thus cheating death itself.
what i find the funniest is when perrito explained his backstory you two did exacly the same faces as puss and kitty like exacly exacly both of you covered your mouths the same way lol
One little detail I loved with Death in this movie is his whistling. At first, it starts off creepy and ominous. But by the end, his final whistle is more calm and soothing. Which really fits the while "accepting your mortality and living your life" theme well. To someone who was afraid of death, the thought of it would seem scary to them. But to someone who has accepted death, it would seem almost comforting in the end. There were also some nice little details sprinkled throughout like when Puss was fighting the giant, the bell rings a total of 8 times (the 8th being when it fell on Puss and crushed him) mirroring how many lives he had lost. And when he was at the bar, he had 8 empty glasses and was drinking his 9th, also mirroring him now on his last life. I also want to say in the bar scene, the chandelier had 9 candles on it, 8 of them already out, and the last one went out when Death made his presence known. Another little fun detail, when Goldi is reading the book of Fairytales, the first word of every sentence spells out "Y.O.U. A.L.R.E.A.D.Y. H.A.V.E. I.T." spelling out that she already has what it is she's looking for.
Funny enough, I got to watch this in theaters with my sister and her boyfriend all bc he was watching puss in boots TikTok’s jokingly saying that we should go. Literally already 9 at night so we bought last minute tickets to watch it. Best. Decision. Ever. I’ve watched a lot of Dreamworks films, this tops the list for my favorite as of rn 😄😄
If i had a wish, would be to watch this movie again, good thing this reaction made my wish come true! Thank you, Timothee, and a happy thursday morning to you as well. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia.
I love this Puss learns that he shouldn't do anything alone or be alone because he now has a wonderful girl Kitty and a wonderful therapy dog best friend Perrito. We don't need a wish to make our dreams come true. Goldie has the family to be with the bears she wanted a family and she has it. Everything is Just Right. I can't wait for Puss in boots to see his friends again I know it has been so long since his adventures with Shrek and Donkey.
The people behind this movie also know that there are people that go through movies bit by bit and there are a few details hidden in plain sight. Most are extremely difficult to notice. Somewhere in the beginning you can see the wolf in the background. The 'Death Cards'? The wolf is in the corners of them. The fairy tale book? The library card is interesting, but the one page they show? Read the first letters of each row for a hidden message ("you already have it"). No idea how many there are hidden. There are a few others that are more easily spotted. When the doctor blows the candle our and says 'you died'? Check the bar scene that follows. The candle on the chandelier goes out just before the wolf shows up. Also, take a close look at the 'horses' of Big Jack Horner's carriage. They are actually unicorns with their horns cut off. Considering that Horner has baby unicorn horns? He might have caught a pair or more unicorns, bred them and cut of the horns of their baby unicorns. In short, they put a lot of work into this movie, on top of the hard work that is easy to notice.
There are many instances where the Wolf was hinted as a far more powerful being. Besides the tropes associated with the supernatural during the first first scene, he can seemingly appear out of nowhere and only have Puss notice him, the two examples being the escape sequence on Jack’s factory and the big fight that causes Puss to run. Additionally, every time the map was shown, the wolf is never seen, while in the cave of souls, where Kitty had no idea how to get to Puss and decides to rescue Perito, Death was already there. Finally, though at this point it was already revealed, this scene just cemented his power, he phased through the star wall, the same thing that killed the chef and almost killed Junior, he had no problems going through it.
16:58 First movie told a story about Puss BEFORE he became a legendary outlaw. And this one (possibly) happened about a decade within Shrek universe. So, of course Puss is triple cocky and world-wide known persona.
It was such a pleasure to end the year of 2022 watching this film, as it filled me with so much joy and excitement! Even now, I still consider Puss in Boots The Last Wish as one of the best Dreamworks films and animated films in general, it’s just SO good!!
When I first saw this movie in theaters, I was blown away. Especially the end credits. Loved the new animation, and everything. I would be more blown away if the end credits does lead into a possible Shrek 5.
@TimothyReacts… tiny spoiler for up to this point in the movie ( 8:29 ) if you go back to the fight with the giant… count the number of times you hear the bell ring…umm..or gong…ending the count in the one after Puss left his mark with his sword in the ground (which actually adds up to what this guy just said to Puss ( 8:29 ))
…oh YEAAAAHH… almost forgot… the same can be said here, if you go back in the actual movie a few seconds and count the empty glasses next to Puss… or… as of me editing this initial comment… I think you can see all of the empty glasses here as well ( 9:23 )
This was definitely better than the first Puss in Boots movie. It has a Spider-Verse style animation which was great, it has some funny jokes, epic action scenes, and in my opinion Florence Pugh as Goldilocks was great casting. There are two movies I actually loved Florence Pugh in so far, Black Widow and this movie. It’s was just so unexpected how Dreamworks made this movie so good.

Lo confirmo
I can’t believe it’s been a year since this amazing film! A Puss in Boots sequel seriously did not have to go THIS hard! It’s such a fun adventure with a great theme on the inevitably of death, fun fairy tale twists that the Shrek series is known for, gorgeous animation style, fantastic villains, and of course, Perrito!
I’m interested in seeing how DreamWorks handles Shrek 5, but I know that they will deliver something awesome.
WHAT? 1 YEAR ALREADY???? BRUH
Me too.
Edit: yes, watch Kung Fu Panda please.~
extremely late comment, but "Imagine seeing this in the theaters!" 3:37 I actually did! It was awesome!
In terms of Horner's ending, I wonder if the specific thing he did to deserve it was giving away the magic umbrella, which could have flown him out of the star.
Magical adventures, character growth, a mental villain, amazing and colorful animation and of course bleep jokes. Best cartoon of 2023🔥
Jack turning giant may be an Alice in Wonderland reference.
23:56 She's saying "Ill make you all of Bathroom mats!"
(At 6:25) T'Challa: I see you, White Wolf
I love watching people react to Death in this movie. How you react to his whistle perfectly matches how you feel about death irl. I’m not afraid of death, so I find his whistle hauntingly beautiful. But people who are afraid of death shudder every time. To think they captured THAT kind of effect so perfectly…that’s some next level storytelling.
20:30 I like how you guys had the same hand placements as Puss and Kitty. 😆
The last wish was such a great movie, it teaches people to accept what you have. Like you don’t need a traditional family ect to be happy. Enjoy what you have. Such great lessons for everyone😎❤
20:31
The fact that they made the EXACT same faces and poses as puss and kitty 😭😭😭😭😭😭
a kung fun panda reaction would be awesome
Death placing coins in his eyes, such a reference to Charon, the ferryman that takes the dead's souls to the underworld in greek mythology
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a true fairy tale
“My compliments to your cobbler. (Nasal laugh)
-El lobo
“…(whistles)…”
We got all the 3 big villain archetypes here!
Jack Horner: The irredeemable monster.
Goldilocks: The sympathetic one who can be redeemed.
Death Wolf: The unstoppable force of nature.
Goldilocks is not a villain.
Deaths Whistle is actually whistled by the voice actor himself.
I remember watching this movie at the cinema and being like..."This guy (Death) has to be the most metal character I've seen in a movie". Everything about him is so sinister and hardcore.
I love how well they spaced out the Wolf's appearances. Every time you start to forget that he's part of this, he pops up again
29:11 Their reactions were priceless to him swearing at them 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love how you can just barely see the wolf in the background at 6:26, near the stairwell behind Timothee’s head.
Now that Mickey is public domain, i wish he was the villain for Shrek 5 😂
Me too.
20:30
Their faces were completely on point!
I know that masterpiece is a strong word, but... I adore this movie, for several different reasons. Oh, and I love your reaction to it ❤
24:11 Good Perrito.
3:36
I saw in theaters back of March 2023 and it was awesome weeks before it was gone from AMC theaters at the AMC Magic Johnson 12.
At 6:25, the wolf is in the left corner of the crowd (behind the picture of Timothee)

First movie told a story about Puss BEFORE he became a legendary outlaw.
And this one (possibly) happened about a decade within Shrek universe. So, of course Puss is triple cocky and world-wide known persona.
This movie is amazing, i love the voice of death is my favorite brazilian actor.
The best song in this movie "Who is your favorite fearless hero?!" This song was stucked in my head for over a month
Fun fact: You did have same body reactions with kitty and puss when you heard perrito's story😂
It was such a pleasure to end the year of 2022 watching this film, as it filled me with so much joy and excitement! Even now, I still consider Puss in Boots The Last Wish as one of the best Dreamworks films and animated films in general, it’s just SO good!!
Me too.
i love that the whole first fight sequence was a set up to wolf cutting him for the very first time
The different fairytale characters in the Puss in boots 2 movie are very funny.
Death is my favorite Villain of all Time alongside The Joker, Hades and Scar👹. GREAT reaction as always👍
When the map first looked blank, I was like "DreamWorks, are you KIDDING ME? Not again!"
Freaking Love this movie
Me too
My wish would be that nobody would make the same hurtful mistake twice.
…oh YEAAAAHH… almost forgot… the same can be said here, if you go back in the actual movie a few seconds and count the empty glasses next to Puss… or… as of me editing this initial comment… I think you can see all of the empty glasses here as well ( 9:23 )
I like how they didn’t make death exactly a villain death is neither good nor bad. It’s kind of neutral. That is why I love this movie
This is my favorite movie of all time ( for now )
This movie was an excellent example of how animation has improved too much, I'm glad you saw it🎉🎉
This was definitely better than the first Puss in Boots movie.
Exactly
18:58 NO, PERRITO’S DOWN!!!!! THEY BROKE PERRITO!!!!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
10:19 when u drop the soap 💀
Saw this in theaters in opening week and wowzers! Most of the sfx, especially Death's whistle, were mesmerizing to listen to with surround speakers.
Did y’all notice by 6:26 Death was watching 💀👀
25:25 if you look at the first letters and read it vertically, it spells out, "You already have it."
23:55 "Voy a hacer a todos alfombras de baño"
No me esperaba que estuviera en español xD
Jack Horner had a phoenix and a bottomless bag. (Harry Potter references anybody?)
The Bottomless Bag is a reference to Mary Poppins.
@@VelociraptorsOfSkyrim that as well
