Death is one of if not the best DreamWorks antagonist ever. His whistle still sends shivers up my spine. The way Puss stands up to him at the end, how he accepts he can't defeat him, but learned to value his life and never stop fighting for it, causing Death to back down is just perfect.
I can't get enough of Perrito. His backstory is so horrible and sad, yet he still has so much optimism, appreciates all the good things in life, and just wants to help people. He's a perfect foil to Puss and Kitty, and I love how he helps them both overcome their their fears and hang ups. Best boy right there.
It took 11 years for Puss In Boots to get a sequel thanks to it's delays due to script rewriters, DreamWorks restructuring, directors switching back and forth, this movie had every red flag here and there before it was finally out. And by the time they did the marketing, it didn't seemed like anyone was really anticipating it. And boy, that all changed when the movie was finally out as not only a worthy sequel but possibly a far superior sequel than the original? How amazing is that? 🙌
Fun fact: During the first fight against the Wolf, when he catches Puss‘ blade with his own, you can see the camera is tilted so far that it is almost diagonal. I watched a video breaking the scene down from an animator‘s perspective and the tilted camera is one of the many aspects the animators used to make him feel off from the get-go. You don’t necessarily notice it, but your brain does.
Wagner Moura is a GREAT Brazilian actor, and I was thrilled to know he was the voice of the wolf. The first time I saw this movie I cried too - not only for the story itself, but because I believe we are living through a shift in north american animation where they are being more creative again! Spider verse really injected life back in it again. The Animation industry deserves better.
Death is probably the scariest looking villain I've seen in an animated movie since Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2. I've never seen anxiety being portrayed so perfectly in an animated movie until I saw this amazing movie. Death felt like an actual threat for Puss and for the audience when it needed
@aVisionaryaRevolutionary07I mean he did tried to kill him… even Puss’s past lives achknowledged that it was cheating, he just quit because at the end we wasn’t afraid of him, but he definetely was a villain, at least in my eyes
I'm honestly impressed that the movie took such good care of every single character especially the new ones. It can be overstuffed due to the amount of subplots they have to face but the fact that each one of them stole the show and had it's moments is really great. I love how they censored Perrito's words when he dissed the bears 😂
I was worried that Perrito is going to be that annoying sidekick who's purpose is just to tell jokes that are rather annoying and unfunny but I was totally surprised how the filmmakers handled him very well by being impactful to the plot and actually funny
The panic attacks in this movie are some of the best representations of them I saw until Inside Out 2 which also does an amazing job. The more I think about this movie the more I like it.
Man, I'm Brazilian and I've never been happier than when I found out that Death would be played by the GREAT BRAZILIAN ACTOR Wagner Moura He NAILED this voice work
If you would've came up to me a few years ago and said an animated movie about a Spanish cat with a hat and a sword would perfectly portray a realistic panic attack...I'd say you were crazy. But this movie did exactly that. 💜
Imagine a rated R DreamWorks Animation movie based around the Death hunting down famous fairy tale characters in the most brutal and cold ways possible.
I've been saying it for years... we deserve a mature horror animated movie for once that doesn't have an art style that makes your eyes bleed. Adults like cartoony, simple, appealing character design too, so I don't get why most adult animations in the west look so ugly.
After Puss in Boot: Last Wish, you guys should definitely react to *The Bad Guys* . Another underrated DreamWorks animated flick from the same year as Puss 2.
Goldis outfit and appearance is meant to show how she's been raised by the bears. Her hair looks like bear ears, her earrings are mismatched like Mama Bear, the necklace and her eyes are the same as Baby Bear's, and the scars over her eyebrow match Papa Bears missing eye
I remember when this movie came out. I had no intention of seeing it and was amazed that a sequel to Puss in Boots had been developed. Then I started to hear all the praise and figured I should check it out. I fell in love with it. It was one of my favorite movies of that year. I say this sincerely. It is one of the greatest sequels ever made.
I actually cracked up laughing at the Perito scene where he just starts cursing up a storm! I wasn't expecting that at all 😂 fantastic job to the entire team who worked on this movie 👏
It’s one of my favorite parts of the movie and I’m so glad they chose that for his voice after all Jimmy Stewart really was such a pure good hearted person
Wagner Moura NEEDS to do more work in voice acting. The Wolf/Death is one of the absolute best antagonists in big screen animated film history, the weight and power of his voice is absolutely chilling.
Greg’s wife is giving Roxy vibes so much, or is Roxy giving Olivia vibes?! PS: Puss left her at the alter because she was trying to make him hyphenate his name, and Puss was just NOT having it!
The Lobo was a great villain. Anyone else notice that Death never blinked? Also, I'll say it a million times, we need more Olivia, she keeps Greg grounded. Lol.
47:09 I honestly think that she did show up at the wedding, and that she was angry for a reason, but when Puss told Perito why things happened the way they did, she understood everything, and she made up a story to let him know that maybe this time he wouldn't run away, because she wouldn't have imagined ever hearing that side of him before, and she tells him to his face that his legend was more important to him than anything else, and that now she no longer sees that in him, seeing how much he values the people around him, and how he is turning into the person she's been looking for all her life, which is why she mentioned sharing the wish because she wants him, and he's left to make his own wish. She literally made up a story for him to let him know why he left, and how she now sees a change in him that he can't see yet in the movie.
I absolutely adore death, he could be seen a villain or just someone who is doing their job. And all he has and been doing his job, and I think it's so sweet how when puss and boots finally learns to value his life and not waste it like he eas doing. Death backed down and let puss and boots basically have another chance at life. Now that hes finally learned his lesson. I just really appreciate how death could be seen as a villain given his mannerisms which could be seen as aggressive or something similar. But he really could just be seen as a character which is their to help teach characters a much needed lesson
My birthday just got so much better! Thank you so much for watching this movie!❤ I was shocked by how amazing it was, it’s so good! Definitely one of the best dreamworks movies imo. I love your reactions!😊
So I went to see this in theaters last year with my sisters and nieces thinking it would just be a cute kids movie matinee. Some people are surprised how good this was but Dreamworks is known to make masterpieces fairly often..and the Shrek series has 2 of them. Make it 3 now. :)

It's really a shame this came out the same year as Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio since it would have easily won the Oscar for best animation. Amazing movie, there is no reason for it to be as good as it is and it's phenomenal and totally worth multiple watch to see all the small details (like, the horses Jack's ride in the beginning are actually Unicorns with their horns cut off, which is where he got the unicorns horns to begin with!)
How can you call Death the antagonist in this story? He is a force of nature, doing his job that's all! It's Puss who is at fault here, being reckless with his lives. Death just came in to teach him a lesson.

Puss In Boots 2: the last wish movie is awesome and My favorite character from Puss In Boots 2 movie is Puss In Boots & Kitty SoftPaws & Perrito are my favorite characters?
hey, I’m about 8 minutes in and just letting you know there’s a lot of glitches in the on-screen movie. not sure if it’s on purpose or not. It happens a lot.
Bring Olivia back for more projects! She's been a delight during both of these reactions! ❤️ I absolutely love the look of this movie! It's not only an amazing sequel but just a feast for the eyes. I remember watching it for the first time with the dumbest smile on my face most of the time. And Perrito! And the Wolf! This movie is just a fucking masterpiece. It is very reminiscent of Spiderverse in the action. You can see the change in animation framerate, the world feel painted. I can't say enough wonderful things about the look of this more. Reminds me why I wanted to work for DreamWorks lol I really gotta get back to animation...

Voiced by brazilian Wagner Moura! Amazing actor!

This and Kung Fu Panda 2 are the best 2 examples of PERFECT sequels. Thank you, DreamWorks
Sooooo true.
How to train your dragon 2... the trilogy of perfect sequels
Paddington 2 is another good example.
How could u forget shrek 2
That and Across the Spiderverse

Utterly incredible That it was as good as it was.
When a movie is successful due to word of mouth alone, that's how you know it's special.

It's crazy how many great sequels are in the Dreamworks lineup; Shrek 2, HTTYD 2, KFP2, Madagascar 2 and this
Wagner Moura is a GREAT Brazilian actor, and I was thrilled to know he was the voice of the wolf.

Puss In Boots The Last Wish is absolutely amazing and a Dreamworks Masterpiece. A 10/10.

The panic attacks in this movie are some of the best representations of them I saw until Inside Out 2 which also does an amazing job. The more I think about this movie the more I like it.
I don't why... This movie made puss in boots look like a knock off in the other movies. This version is my definitive version in my head

Who would have thought that Puss In Boots 2 would just so GOOD!!!!
Goldis outfit and appearance is meant to show how she's been raised by the bears.

Love this movie more than the first one!!! So glad you’re reacting to this!! Always a pleasure seeing Olivia!!
Would YOU Have Still Made A Wish?!
Yes
I would.
hell yes.
I would’ve just wished to never receive a Spanish splinter.

Awesome
Goodnight
Sweet dreams
In Goldis storybook, if you look at the first letters and read it vertically, it spells out, "You already have it."
"look at his weird shoes!"
cut to greg's face. *priceless*

PS: Puss left her at the alter because she was trying to make him hyphenate his name, and Puss was just NOT having it!
I was todays years old when I found out Greg is not Hispanic 💀😂😂
The Lobo was a great villain. Anyone else notice that Death never blinked?
Also, I'll say it a million times, we need more Olivia, she keeps Greg grounded. Lol.
32:40 When something is cute: DOPAMINE

When something is unbearably cute:
VIOLENCE
or passing out, apparently? 🤔
Jack Horner is the best character in this. He's just so hilarious
Best pure funny villain. He just didn’t give a damn 😂
Rightt? And right before this the movie established that kitty absolutely WOULD lie to comfort puss.
This is the reaction I’ve been waiting for! This movie is a masterpiece! 10/10 for sure! 🙏🏼
I absolutely adore death, he could be seen a villain or just someone who is doing their job. I just really appreciate how death could be seen as a villain given his mannerisms which could be seen as aggressive or something similar. But he really could just be seen as a character which is their to help teach characters a much needed lesson
Deaths whistle was soooo good it reminded me of the first time in the walking dead hearing negans whistle
Whenever I hear the whistling, I think of Omar from the Wire.
wagner moura killed it as death
My birthday just got so much better! Thank you so much for watching this movie!❤ I was shocked by how amazing it was, it’s so good! Definitely one of the best dreamworks movies imo. I love your reactions!😊
So I went to see this in theaters last year with my sisters and nieces thinking it would just be a cute kids movie matinee. From the moment “El Lobo” showed up, I looked over at my nieces and my sister and was like, “Umm is this gonna be too scary for them?!” On the contrary, we were all HOOKED from start to finish. My young nieces didn’t squirm or get bored, and I was basically Greg wavering between laughter and tears all throughout. This movie still hits me in my feels, it was so well done and I would only want a 3rd if the exact same team came back to produce it.
This movie tricked me into thinking Kung fu Panda 4 was gonna be good
If Antonio is too old to be active like he was in Zorro and Desperado these films will do, always been a fan of his! Rewatched this alot with my kiddos, great animation and mature themes and story 😅
Some people are surprised how good this was but Dreamworks is known to make masterpieces fairly often..and the Shrek series has 2 of them. Make it 3 now. :)
2 clarifications
1:ray winston is not dead, check the gentlemen
2:There are some references to Shrek here because the first movie was during puss first life, He still didn't know him
Extra fact: Kitty accidentally reveals that this is also her last life, So her love story with puss is mythological... After many reincarnations they met again at the end
52:30 A low-rent Cinderella 😂😂
Been waiting for this reaction for TOOO LONG
IVE BEEN WAITING MY LIFE IS COMPLETE
After years of Disney doing the same ole twist villain again and again to have this movie give not one, not two but THREE excellent villain archtypes was amazing! Ya have your fully three dimentional villain with a good backstory in Goldie. A chilling otherworldy villain who still has noble qualities with Death. And then just a straight up nasty irredeemable ass hole with Jack Horner, low key my fave 😂
I love that there's this implication that death has taken so many lives to the after life for his job (maybe even lives he didn't want to take) and this is the first time he's taking one out of personal intent; cause there's someone given 9 lives and didn't appreciate any of them.
Oh my god I love this movie so much
Perrito is voiced by Harvey Guillén from What We Do in the Shadows, AND he also did the Spanish dub for this movie!
As did Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.
The animation style is so different I honestly wouldn’t have believed you if you told me this was actually made by Dreamworks. The subtle drops in frame rate, the more hand drawn aesthetic character designs, it’s all subtle but it improves the animation quality by miles. Dreamworks animation better use this same art style for the future Shrek movies.
I love this movie. It's almost like if three different groups we're playing d&d with the same dungeon master and he was pitting all three parties against them without them knowing.
El Silbón, also known as The Whistler when translated, is a spirit that wanders the South American countryside.
Greg cries more from movies than any other man in history
The goldilocks & 3 bears storyline was definitely one of the most heartfelt and emotional ones of the movie to me
Goldi is closest to Mama Bear because after the first Shrek, Papa fell in love again and made her the new Mama Bear.
She, out of all of them, understands Goldis disconnect of becoming a part of a family you weren’t born in.
As someone who is adopted I adored Goldilocks story and arch
Ray winstone didnt die..
Yeah I guess he was thinking of Ray Stevenson
Yeah we up early gang
This movie is absolutely perfect, the script is so tight
You gotta admit the animation for death and the voice acting? Spectacular
14:08 i know he hasnt outright said it at this point in the movie but the quote “i like how this wolf is playing like he is actually death” annoyed me so much lol idk why but i hate when people cant see it almost immediately as unfair as that is i know 😂
I love how the map changes to their outlook of life, perritos if you think about it is also very sad but because of his outlook on life it turns out good
11:59 no that is not the big bad wolf, we have met the big bad wolf in shrek
Ok but when are we gonna get a studio tour?
42:45 42:46 42:47 42:48 42:49 42:50
This is a crazy coincidence I literally just got done watching roxy and johns reaction to this movie and now gregs is up.
1:01:43 GATITO BLADE!!!!!
How did you find it so fast 😂
DreamWorks best antagonist: Death
DreamWorks best villain: Lord Shen
With the action they slow the frames down on the characters, thats how you get that stop motion affect.
Cats have 9 lives❤😂 The DCOTOR is the voice FROM COCO THAT PLAYED ERNESTO DELACRUZ

I mean, was a movie already watched on this channel; Will watch again for great movie😂

the wolf's weapon is called sickles
As cat lovers I really think you love the short film "Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos".
Jack is the best
Scary how towards the end the only reason they all finally saw Death was because at any moment they all could’ve bit the dust 😅
This movie is a true fairy tale.
Anyone see the weird Grainy moments ??? Or is it just me
Nope I see it too…
Probably a glitch in the video
Ray Winstone is still alive and well.
Ray Winstone is still alive.

No fairy tales are free domain just because Disney got famous for them it doesn’t mean they own it. I thought you guys new these 😂

Bring Olivia back for more projects! She's been a delight during both of these reactions! ❤️
I absolutely love the look of this movie!
