I absolutely despise what Instagram has done. I’m an artist. I’m not a content machine. This idea of having to make a reel for everything is a nightmare. I’m doing it! But, as of last week, my reel views went from 800-1000 to 100. I’m so over this. I have no more ideas. My business took a massive hit from the inability to get my art seen. It’s awful. I’ve paid so much last year for ad’s. All these branding ideas are great. Just need to find out how in the world they’d work for my business.
It really is an exhausting time! I've heard a lot of people say that their reels were doing well and then views suddenly plummeted, so we might work on a video just about that/how to navigate that issue!!
Same here hon! Except I’m a makeup artist I would get 5-10k views and I don’t even get 100 now. It’s really difficult :/ I’m losing followers now and none of my work is being seen.
With my 2nd reel, I got 109,458 plays and 6,437 likes, and a bunch of new followers (most that I wasn't interested in following back). So I'm all excited about reels. The next reel got 455 plays and the next got 242. It seems like they tease you with a lot of plays on your first couple of reels and it's down from there. My first reel was stupid (I should delete it), but it got 690 plays.
this video was very helpful. my problem is that I used to get a few thousand views instantly, and now only a few hundred and it seems like only my followers are watching whereas I used to have non followers like and see it. I'm just stuck on why the reach has tanked and how to get more non followers to see it

I've followed all advice, posting in the right time, using trendy sounds and original audio/scripts. Like why is it that some video get under 100 views, max 500, in a few days, but then others get 5000+ within an hour. What am i doing wrong? I've been doing this for months!!!!! I'm going crazy
I have the same problem, some get 1000's views within a few hours while some reels only get like 200 views.... even though I am following trendy music, captions, engaging content to my audience... not just random stuff.... but i think its just seeing what works and luck?

Because people are luring to you, the reason is because Instagram wanted to draw more attention to reels now that they did they made it harder for anyone who was “late” to the party to get exposure
I saw an insightful POV that basically said only every 3-4 days will a video be pushed out to non followers. I don’t understand the logic behind it but I kind of see this trend on my page.
This video DID give me encouragement because I started a side business to fund my dreams and only have 26 followers. The ironic thing is I noticed some people who copied my ideas from my page and product. That's cool. Because at the end of the day, Im learning invaluable knowledge from you---growing and improving my mindset and reaching my goals one day at a time. ☺❤
My first reel on my new account got 30k views and hundreds of likes within 15 minutes, and the reels I posted after that got maybe 40 views and one like each. All are the same kind of video targeting the same demographic, but I posted them at different times. One at 6am and one at 5pm, and the one at 6am did the best. Is this normal...?
I’m currently having a similar situation. I only have 400 followers and my first two reels got almost 4k views. And my third one got like 50. And it’s my best one.
It's very normal Because when you are posting it for the first time ...that too if you yourself are kinda new to IG, it tries to support you by pushing your content and if people are liking it, staying on it....it automatically gets pushed and seen to more and more people.
If your first few reels got a lot of views thats normal. It's just Instagram showing us a carrot in the start so we will post more reels, then they start there usual Instagram stuff.

This is a constant struggle for me. My account has close to 200 followers but my views never exceed 50 views (and that's recent!!) It started of with like 30 views 🙄 even weeks and weeks later. I still haven't found what the "problem" is.
Do you know how to change the background when re-sharing your reels on stories? I have seen people resharing their reels and the background is a photo etc.. Looked everywhere and nothing helpful comes up.. Can you help? Pretty sure a lot of us have the same question 😉 thanks

I think it has more to do with how good the content is! And I would do more reels similar to what worked well for you - and recognize that most reels will not get more views than your # of followers!!
My dog account has 83 followers and gets 3,000 plus views. I have 1600 followers and get 100-400 views. The reel that got more views was a Family Thanksgiving in 2020 lol. I can’t keep doing thanksgiving videos lol

The day after at around the same time, I posted my second reel....pretty much the same reel except a different puppy...a week later it has 3 views and 0 likes! Lol too funny!
Not at all! I see ALL types of reels gain views. Your reels feed will show you what you interact with most which might be why you see mostly those types! :)

It’s their algorithm, it basically puts your video in a queue, specially if you post one after another. Just wait and it should be added to the top of the list, remembering that the video engagement only last couple of hours :)

That is so frustrating!! The same thing happens to me, sometimes! Just keep creating with your target audience in mind. A single reel can take days or weeks to take off, so keep going!!
This is difficult, Emily!! Consider whether or not your reels and your page are playing into each other, and that both are what your ideal client would WANT to see more of!

Here are some things you can check! Is your account set to public? Are you posting original content? Are you taking advantage of trending audio? Are you posting regularly? Remember, even if your views aren't hitting the thousands, that does not mean they're failing. If they're getting more views than you have followers, that's a win. Hmm, that's a good question!! Is this inquiry based on one reel of each category? It would be good to have a big sample size for this question. Overall, sharing a reel to both feeds usually boosts engagement, so maybe there are some other factors contributing here!!
Who determines if your videos are engaging or not because the views are not going up .People are not seeing them to determine it so who determines this ?

You made a good point: if I have 20.000 followers and I get 10.000 views in half of my followers, the reality is that the majority of people that watches your reel is not a follower. But now that I think of my situation, I have 1635 followers and I get 3000/5000 views it's not that bad probably but still, the majority is NOT a follower. Another thing you said is that the number of followers doesn't matter. My page is about travelling and I can't sell something to my followers, if not the experiences and new interesting things to do, so I would like to collaborate with some company and with 1635 followers I don't think I can go far right now, so the number counts. I had 3 followers, I posted my first ever reel, my cat talking to me, within minutes I was getting views. Ended up with 3500. I posted another one and got about 3000 Posted a 3rd one and got like 1200 All cat videos. Since then I’ve posted 3-4 more and got literally 0 views. 2-3 that’s it. Why???
@@StephanieKase the first two videos are similar. one was like 20 seconds, the other only 10. both my cat sitting there meowing and i say are you hungry and she meows again. pretty much it. those both got over3000 views. first ever reels i posted and i had only 3 followers. page just started. 3rd video got 1200 views, 10 seconds, my other cat giving me a high five. since then i posted 6 videos. one cat drinking from sink, looking out window meowing, playing with a toy. things like that, all pretty short videos, and views only 3-4 each
I agree. Good quality content is key. But when you have great content And make fans of every person You meet in real life daily etc And watch your numbers online Never grow for years no matter how Much you promote it/ spend on content I have 15 vids on Worldstar Collabs with gold/ platinum artists Made a song playing at stadiums etc
So frustrating but there could be lots of contributing factors!! My biggest guesses would be time between posts or who the reel was targeted for/what type of content it was.
People are posting stupid building videos a kid riding a bike videos and gets 1000s views I’m posting beautiful beach videos and barely get 1000 view And I only have about 250 followers so I guess I’m wasting my time here
Also my feedback page is black now and can’t figure out why. Any idea what might be the reason for that? Also last 4-5 days my reels not getting any views in first couple hours and then it takes 24 hours to reach 400-500. This is so confusing

Informative... I started using reels and majority of them get decent views. I do not even like doing regular posts anymore bc the Reels get more love.

Post 1 reel every 3-4 days. Anything sooner than that won’t show up to everyone other than followers.

The algorithm can be tricky! Think of who you HOPE sees your reel and have them in mind when you are creating!

@@StephanieKase the first two videos are similar. one was like 20 seconds, the other only 10. both my cat sitting there meowing and i say are you hungry and she meows again. pretty much it. those both got over3000 views. first ever reels i posted and i had only 3 followers. page just started. 3rd video got 1200 views, 10 seconds, my other cat giving me a high five.
since then i posted 6 videos. one cat drinking from sink, looking out window meowing, playing with a toy. things like that, all pretty short videos, and views only 3-4 each

Look back at what kind of themes did well for your audience and focus there first!

But when you have great content
And make fans of every person
You meet in real life daily etc
And watch your numbers online
Never grow for years no matter how
Much you promote it/ spend on content

Collabs with gold/ platinum artists
Made a song playing at stadiums etc
From thousands of views to zero! How is that possible??
So frustrating but there could be lots of contributing factors!! My biggest guesses would be time between posts or who the reel was targeted for/what type of content it was.
I have the issue that I have 1000+ followers but I only get 50 views on my reels no matter what I do
That's really not a bad ratio! I would examine how consistently you're posting and if you're interacting with other accounts involved in your niche!

People are posting stupid building videos a kid riding a bike videos and gets 1000s views I’m posting beautiful beach videos and barely get 1000 view And I only have about 250 followers so I guess I’m wasting my time here
You're not wasting your time! You'll see growth with consistent posts created with a specific audience in mind!
Also my feedback page is black now and can’t figure out why. Any idea what might be the reason for that? Also last 4-5 days my reels not getting any views in first couple hours and then it takes 24 hours to reach 400-500. This is so confusing

Super frustrating! Do you feel like you engage back with other accounts as much on your bakery account? Commenting on others' posts and stories will go a long way!
my reels do pretty good, i get like 2k views on them despite having like 30 followers👀 need more consistent followers engaging with my acc all the time🥲
Try including a great call to action in the video - commenting, saving, sharing, etc!!
