Erica is perfect for Sondheim because of her ability to sing and talk seamlessly, while keeping in tune and on time.
It’s so sad that she’s mentioned she wants to be in classical musicals but doesn’t have the dancing skills required for those roles usually 😞

@@angelicaarellano9752 a lot of classical musicals at least for the soprano leads don’t require a lot of dancing i.e. Rodgers and Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Lerner and Loewe
She always reacts to other people, I don't think she realizes how talented she is.

Erika has such a good voice. It’s so clear and her range and plain talent as well as personality are incredible. Point is: Erika Henningsen is an amazing human.

I feel like Erika is often overlooked from the Mean Girls cast and don't get me wrong there are so many amazingly talented people from that cast but, as Hannah said, Erika is spectacular and captivating and deserves more recognition. THIS! The Mean Girls cast is so incredible- no denying that, but something about Erika's performance was truly the heartbeat of that show. The cast always referred to her as their fearless leader!

Yes! The effortless intervals and the seamless talk-sing duality make her a GREAT musical theatre performer. It took many listens (and hearing others try to perform the role) to understand that she was the most amazing performer in Mean Girls despite being surrounded by huge vocal stars belting thrilling showcase songs. If the sound of the second song here reminds anyone of something -- it's a dynamite reincarnation of Erika's idol Barbara Cook (Music Man, Candide, etc.) With her voice, acting and comic timing Erika doing Music Man would be something special to hear.
I swear the list of roles I would LOVE to see her do gets longer and longer every day.
@@oliveave5969 well, let's see... Sutton foster is 45 and hugh jackman is 51 and I doubt Flying Over Sunset is gonna be Chorus Line or Cats. If the Jackman production ever happens and is a monster maybe she'll step in after a while. That will be my fantasy for 2023. (Actually, the way the virus is going let's say 2024.)

Oh BOY. I got so excited when she started singing Meadowlark. I sang that my junior year of college and always struggled with that E5, but she did it FLAWLESSLY. The whole thing was flawless. 😍😍😍😍

The second song Erika sang reminded me so much of what I’ll call the “Christine daae notes” aka the super super high soprano 1 notes. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her sing that high (I’ve only listened to her in mean girls) so hearing that amazing sound come out her vocal cords just amazed me. I loved Erika in mean girls and this made me realize how astounding her voice is

I had the pleasure of meeting Erika backstage and she was the ABSOLUTE SWEETEST!! she talked with us for like 10-15 minutes about theatre and life and she had to be at stage door and just vibed with us anyways! I also met cheech, krystina, and some ensemble!! she signed our playbills and took pictures, I was having a breakdown being so close to her but it was INSANE!!

Ok, so usually when people say they “got chills” when someone sings really well. Erika sings SO good that I got LITERAL goosebumps! Like, it sent a shiver down my spine 🤩
That's what most of us mean with the phrase haha. Some people are a lot more prone to it than others, but when we listen to music that hits just right it causes goosebumps and shivers.
It's kind of like how we describe attractive people as "hot" because some people feel physically warm when seeing someone attractive!

Ugh, she is amazing. You should react to Alex Brightman’s Beetlejuice! I saw a video where they scoped his larynx, the was that he got is super raspy sound healthily is SO COOL.
I love Alex Brightman so much. He worked for such a long time to perfect the Beetlejuice voice, and even though it sounds so raspy and grovely, it's perfectly healthy. Amazing.

I have a strong chest voice, and I have a strong upper head voice, but I am lost as to how to mix. I’m a Broadway fanatic and I’ve been trying so hard to sing along to a lot of Eirika’s songs, and only now does it hit me that the reason I can’t hit her notes is because she’s insanely amazing at mixing. Aaaa, how can I learn to mix???

Try getting these singing straws. Hannah here has videos about those. You will only get better at mixing if you practice. Practice singing a lot of Disney Princess songs since they have a lot of mixing. I use my nose at any part in a song that requires mixing. But you have to record yourself so you know if you’re doing it the way the original singer does and if you’re sounding right.
PLEASE react to Jai’Len Josey’s broadway bucket list as well!! She was Pearl in Spongebob on broadway and she’s FANTASTIC!! She also sang Meadowlark and had a totally different take on it.
Ahh this was my suggestion! As uber talented as she is, she is also one of the most kind, generous, well-educated, and funny people I've met! Thank goodness young fans of Mean Girls have her to look up to!
