      @The Sheriff Show - TSS You can shoot a lot more than portraits and stuff with 50mm, you just have to move your body to get your focal lengths and stuff. It'll teach you a lot about photography. I mainly use my 50mm over every other lense. You just can't be lazy with it.

      @The Sheriff Show - TSS yeah but say you're indoors. you can't really use the 50mm if the room isn't big enough. That's my problem. That's why I need the 24mm

      @@raulstl2891 I would suggest the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 constant aperture lens. It's like having multiple prime lens with flexibility of zoom and also has image stabilization. Saves the hassle of carrying multiple lenses and gives good low light performance as well, IMHO 🙏

      @@anirbanbhattacharjee3474I actually have the Sigma lens and it's great, but quite heavy and large to be carrying around all day. Which is why I ordered the 24mm prime. I also have the 50mm prime, which is great for portraits and close ups but hard to use in smaller spaces.

    I sold my 50 mil, I never liked to use it on my crop sensor cam. It was too tight to street use, not good enough for portraits. Than I bought the 85 for portrait work and the 24 for a walk around lens. I use the 24 a lot more than the 50. The nifty 50 is overrated on crop sensors.

    • @TheJudge064
      @TheJudge064 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      By the yn 50 do you mean the youngno 50 1.8? In that case I wouldn't recommend doing so. The picture quality is only marginally different between the canon's and youngno's versions, so you really don't need it. And quite frankly I honestly think people might start giving you weird if you start photographing events with a pancake lens. Not that the image quality is bad, but people just don't think it's 'pro quality' because of its size and might not care much for your attempts to photograph the. If that doesn't bother you though, then it's a great lens and I would 100% recommend you get it

      The 24 mm in this does not work for FF but there are other. 24 mm is very wide, almost ultra wide. 50 mm is normal. Entirely different lenses. There are uses for both. You should learn what focal lengths mean.

    Hold up, is there no 1.6x crop if you put EFS lens on a ASP-C sensor? (So is this actually a comparison between 24mm and approx. 80mm?)

    • @TbonesTech
      @TbonesTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      The 24mm EFS on a APS-C turns it into 38mm with a 35mm equivalent
      So it’s actually 38mm vs 80mm APS-C
      Or 38mm on APS-C vs 50mm on full frame

    • @okaro6595
      @okaro6595 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The crop is the property of the sensor. 24 mm works like 38 mm when used on crop. It never becomes 38 mm, it always is 24 mm.

      24mm on APSC (Crop) sensor has a field of view (FOV) equivalent to 38.4mm on FF. So 24mm on APSC (Crop) sensor is still a "wide angle lens" whearas 50mm on full frames has standard lens FOV.

    Actually found out what gives it that color aberration it revolves around the the white balance when the balance is not set to the temperature of the picture you'll get their color aberration every time now I learned to set it on the time I'm shooting and because they do it in Kelvin degrees then you have to adjust it according to how the temperature is outside and you will eliminate that chromatic color

    Hi, thanks for the videos, it has helped me a lot to understand how to make videos. I'm a hairdresser and I'm going to start recording video lessons, we'll use two DSLR canon SL2, one to film the whole complete space (me, the model and assistant) and for that purpose what canon lens tells me? the second camera will be used to film only the head of the model to better show how I am cutting the hair of the same, and for this camera what lens tells me? in short, a lens to film three people and another lens to just to film the model's head. It does not have to be lenses with good focus because the background of the scene is totally white. I need good, inexpensive lenses to film my course.

      24 mm is a good general purpose lens. You get horizontally roughly what is the distance. 50 mm is NOT a general purpose lens. It is for portraits or other cases where short tele is good.
      Use your kit zoom to learn, then use your kit zoom to learn. Then use your kit zoom to learn, then... get it? The kit zoom covers both these focal lengths.

    Doesn't the aperture change when you mount. 50 mm f1.8 on an
    aps-c sensor? It turns out to be about f2.9 or f3.0

    • @leonardbernardo2145
      @leonardbernardo2145 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sain Hadam the aperture remains the same it’s the perceived depth of field that change. F/1.8 would have a perceivable dof of F/2.88 on an aps-c body

    • @leonardbernardo2145
      @leonardbernardo2145 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sain Hadam more accurately, the 50mm 1.8 would be perceived as a 90mm 2.88 lens on a similar distance against a full frame body. And even though the 24mm is built for aps c, that math stays the same. It would be perceived as 38.4mm f/4.48.

    • @sainhadam1478
      @sainhadam1478 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leonardbernardo2145 thank you for clearing that up. I was told that I need to multiply my focal length and aparature by the crop factor.

    • @leonardbernardo2145
      @leonardbernardo2145 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sain Hadam that is not entirely incorrect. But the reason why you would need to do that is to basically know the difference in perception but the physical properties and effects such as light gathered remains the same.

    • @aliramirezruiz3481
      @aliramirezruiz3481 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leonardbernardo2145 The depth of field does not change at all. Only the perceivable focal lenght. The only factor that you multiply is the focal lenght, not aperture. You should get pretty much the same picture on a full frame and in a APS-C, the only difference is that in the APS-C the picture is zoomed in. You don't get less aperture.
