      @Chxrries ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He didn’t handle it good tf...? He was the reason that the horse did that. The horse was shaking his head violently and only calmed down a little when he released the reigns for a few seconds. Every time he yanked on the horses mouth (with a giant bit in it btw) the horse freaked out more and spun in circles and danced around to relieve the pressure and pain in its mouth. Horses don’t do things for no reason. HE was the reason

    It takes 4yrs to train a drum horse and the white horses are used by the trumpeters and are absolutely gorgeous to look at❤❤❤ and as for saying theyre not highly trained, try playing an instrument while controlling a big horse with you're legs and keeping instep with all the other horses and the horse has to understand what he's supposed to be doing Give them the respect they deserve❤❤❤

    This horse was neither crazy nor running. That horse was either being hurt by something in its bridle or breastcollar, OR it was spooked by the tassel (not sure), OR it had a bad experience being in that place in the lineup. That horse wasn't being bad. It was reacting to some kind of stimulus. The way it was wringing its tail, it was really upset or uncomfortable. Something in the bridle may have been pinching it. A horse CAN react because it simply wants to go back to the stable, but I think that horse was having or had had some kind of bad experience.

One other horse I was riding started acting like that we had checked asap and found he had a pinched nerve in the spinal under the saddle area, no clue how he did it either, figured from rolling on uneven ground in his pen at the campground . Hope they got that horse checked out and treated properly instead of righting it off as it just having a "bad day". He only wears the cloak when weather dictates it. Below the cloak he wears the dark blue tunic like the rest of the regiment. The other difference between the trumpeters and the other troopers (in the B&R and Life Guards) besides the white horses is they typically do not wear the breast and back plates. This is typical of all cuirassier regiments dating back to Napoleon.
      The other trooper that stands out is the farrier of the Blues & Royals - he wears a black plume on his helmet, and carries a large shiny axe with a pointed end.

    What I saw was a horse that was annoyed (ears pinned, active tail) by its handler giving confusing signals. Tight reins, leg position and pulling on the bit are instructing the horse to back up. Handler needs to watch his hand position too.

      They are Irish bred horses, Irish Draught mares crossed with Thoroughbred stallions.

    The only things I can think of that would agitate the horse that bad are 1. that flag to close to his eyes 2. that flopping tassel 3, a stallion on the opposite side he wanted to fight if they are not gelded 3. maybe there was a mare in heat and he was not gelded.
    They should teach the riders the circle dance when their horses misbehave like that. It's the gentlest way I've found for a misbehaving horse and once they know they will have to do this every time they misbehave, I've found that they are less likely to do it! : )

    Just an observation as a horseman. Guard was giving conflicting messages to the horse. His spurs were on the horse's sides many times, even when the horse complied and stood. His reins were way too tight when he was asking the horse to move forward. So the combination of spur and pulling on the reins is telling the horse to go backward. Guard tenses up, which brings more spur to horse's side, and gets tighter on the rein which escalates the situation. Guard might have de-escalated by breathing, relaxing, using calf pressure instead of spur, and give the horse more rein when he complies with what was wanted. More rider training needed.
