That they keep going back, over and over……what’s the horse to do? Besides, sucking up to the public isn’t their job. If it was me visiting the UK and the kings guard I would ask the guard if he would mind me taking a picture I would hopefully to get a might bring a few apples for the horses if that’s allowed and thank him graciously. But honestly, I would rather have, just the picture of this lovely royal guard on his beautiful horse then to be sticking my ugly mug in there as well. LOL

I live in the USA. I can't help but wonder how people in the US, that would run directly towards an MP and touch them in ANY branch of service would handle these people. I already know running at a police officer (non military) would be ordered to stop. If the person doesn't comply they'd be detained at the very Least. All of that to say "Why aren't these guards protected the same way"? The safety of the guards & the guards horses are put in jeopardy. Seriously, I don't understand how this behavior isn't disciplined in some manner. It would surely reduce this nonsense from occurring tremendously!! I wish there was a way to have this matter addressed before a guard or their horse are fatally injured.

In terms of character, Ormonde always reminds me of my Hanoverian Gelding, who earned his living as a school horse for children. When he was on duty, this was his most important task. Only the child and the teacher were important. He scared away over-worried mothers or fathers. In private, however, he was a social and friendly horse. When we went swimming, he was childish with sheer joy. I still miss him, after 20 years.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Firstly their military service. Secondly for sitting upon a horse in an uncomfortable uniform come rain, sun, sleet and hail for hours per day. Thirdly for allowing them to get close enough for a picture despite it being stressful for the horses and that mamy tourists are incredibly disrespectful towards the guard. If it were my Guards I would make it an offense to get within 5 foot of the guards but the King grants the privilege for tourists to stand close for a photo. He is kinder than I would be to these disrespectful tourists.

l remember seeing a video of a little girl who approached, stopped at a respectful distance& bowed to the guard asking oh so politely whether the guard would allow her to touch his horse... She actually got a verbal 'yes'(quite unusual; but she was a special little girl) and after briefly touching the horse very carefully, thanked the pair with genuine gratitude,& moved on. That child should be hired to show tourons proper deportment and courtesy! ❤

I’ve spent a lot of time in London, and have family in the UK. Their policing is different for the US, but that doesn’t mean it is ineffective.

l remember seeing a video of a little girl who approached, stopped at a respectful distance& bowed to the guard asking oh so politely whether the guard would allow her to touch his horse... She actually got a verbal 'yes'(quite unusual; but she was a special little girl) and after briefly touching the horse very carefully, thanked the pair with genuine gratitude,& moved on. That child should be hired to show tourons proper deportment and courtesy! ❤
I wonder what he thinks? He seems to dislike smarties but tolerates little kids and disabled. If that big unit were glaring at me, I’d stand away!

It still baffles me how the public are left to get so close and continue to take photos of the guard and horse,this is why tourists believe they are there to take photos with, and touch the horses,as always the UK is too lenient, this wouldn't be permitted in other countries...
