    Have to say John that I looked into pickups and coming across and watching your videos, I settled for a new Navara Tekna and it is a fantastic pickup. Thanks for sharing the videos, very interesting.

      Johnny Mac thanks for your comment. Really appreciated. Mileage is now headed for 30,000miles. I may use a 30,000 mile running review as an excuse to share some more findings, as well as acting on your suggestions.

    Was considering either a Navarra or a d-max, what's your opinion on which would be a better urban pick up truck, cheers and great review by the way!

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremy Fidelis hi jeremy
      I gave the D-max a test drive before making my decision to go for the Nissan. I believe the D-max to have a reputation for being able to survive more abuse than the other pickups. It’s probably a better choice if you were going to load the bed with a tonne of scrap iron every day climb into the cab with tar on your boots, thrash it off road and then hose out the interior

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its the word Urban that says go for the Navara to me though Jeremy.
      can do all of those things i have just said the D-max would be better at. But where it has the big advantage over the D-max is those more urban elements. It is undoubtedly a more comfortable ride. Its a quieter interior. The parking assitance cameras are the best of the available crop. The Auto box is very nice. Seats are fabulous. There are two other considerations I had to make. These are possibly only true for the UK market though.
      a)The Nissan is significantly more expensive in high trim levels 😫
      b) Isuzu dealerships are few and far between, while Nissan Service is available in most major towns 😁
      Hope all that helps Jeremy
      Thanks for your subscription

    Good review looking at one for my next company vehicle and i do around 40,000 miles per year. Ref Adblue costs check the price from your nearest DAF trucks main dealer as they are normally very competitive on price.

      To The Garage how do you find the automatic gearbox is it fairly refined as looking to go this route. Really enjoyed your review.

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Thomas. Its excellent for road use. I dont tow trailers so dont know how that would affect the box and I cant really comment on it as an offroad box other than use in the snow. Ive driven an Auto L200 and its sustantially smoother than that. Unless you are accelerating with a wide open throttle, the only change you can feel is first to 2nd. Only engine note and rev counter give away the others. I dont think you would be disapointed. Have you previously had pickups or is this a potential move from a company car?

    • @thomasyelland9458
      @thomasyelland9458 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To The Garage it would be a change from a company car. I have a VW Passat currently and know the fit and finish wont be to this standard as its a commercial vehicle but can live with that i think.

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem Thomas. My daily driver previous to this was a Jaguar XJ. So quite a change! fit and finish is actually pretty good. its just the materials which step down a little. ie the hard dashboard plastic. The novelty of driving such a tall and indestructable feeling vehicle will get you past the first couple of weeks, by which time the comparison with the Passat will be gone. The comfort, space and the tiny benefit in kind on your P11D will keep you feeling smug after that.😁👍.
      Not sure what the other trim levels have (mines Tekna) but make sure you get the birds eye camera system. without that parking would be a real bugger.

    Hi John, a quick question before I buy Navara, i do a lot city driving, heard a lot things about Navara DPF clogging up. Do you think , this could be an issue? Thanks

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Every car with a DPF filter has the potential for clogging but most vehicles (Navaras included) that regularly get driven at 55 plus miles per hour for more than 30 minutes on a weekly basis, will experience no issues. They tend to clog with short journeys and low speeds where they never get up to temperature long enough to burn off the deposits or 'regenerat' as the dealers call it.
      I never experienced the issue in mine though

      Glad you agree on the great ride. Just had a look at Philippines spec Navara
      As I did not realise Nissan did a 2wd version. All uk double cab Navara have 4wd. You learn something every day!👍 Thanks Rickybob.
      I’m going to do a long distance high economy run video shortly.

    Hi there I have I np300 16 plate from new but my np has always pulled to the left steering wheel of centred to the right been into Nissan multiple times they advised its due to the size of the tyres and the cant in the road do you have this problem im always juggling about with the steering could you advise if you have this problem alignment has been checked by Nissan

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jk
      I have never experienced any issues with pulling or wandering on mine.
      If the camber on the road is very severe then all cars can be effected by it, but the standard road camber should not really influence your vehicle too much.
      Wide tyres are more effected but assuming yours are standard then thats not the issue.
      Im sure you are not but if you are driving it in 4x4 mode on dry Tarmac, then it will feel really bad. Stick it in 2 wheel drive and your troubles are over.
      If I was experiencing this issue my check list to investigate would be as follows and in this order.
      Uneven tyre pressures
      Badly worn front tyres
      Dragging brakes on the pulling side
      bent tie rods or other suspension elements
      worn track rod end
      loose steering rack mounting bolts
      faulty power steering rack
      Go to a car park (no camber)
      line up one side of your car with a white line and force the car to drive very slowly along it.
      You now know that the car is going straight and is not being influenced by camber. keep moving and let go of the wheel. does it Pull the wheel to the left?
      If yes there is a fault. Confirm by driving along the same line in the opposite direction. This absolutely eliminates cambers and slopes if it still pulls left.
      Does it pull the other way when you reverse? if so its something loose. (track rod end wheel bearing steering rack tie rod etc) if it does the same then its something bent or adjusted wrong.
      hope some of this is a help. Maybe some of our other subscribers will have had this problem and can advise?

    How do you compare this car to a Ford Ranger 2016-2018?

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      I think the Ford Dashboard is a lot nicer and more car like, but the Nissan rides better. In all other regards I feel they are on a par and it comes down to either your brand allegencies or asthetic preference.

    How is it carrying a heavy load?

    • @ToTheGarage
      @ToTheGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nuno Mello
      Up to the 1 tonne limit its fine.
      I have seen some that were towing heavy loads though, and must admit that the coil sprung rear suspension does not seem to cope as well with this A badly loaded or heavy trailer seems to pull the rear end down far more than on Leaf sprung vehicles.
      Just my opinion though, as I don't Tow.
