  • Nissan has positioned the Navara as a truck that “raises the bar for style and performance” in the sector.
    And with this current generation, it feels like 80 years of experience has been poured in to make it the toughest, smartest and nicest to drive Navara yet.
    It’s also one of the few pickup trucks to come with 5-year warranty for even more peace of mind! So, shall we see how it stands up to the Vanarama Road Test?
    This latest generation of the Navara looks good, doesn’t it? They’ve always been understated, but it looks so modest, like the drive and interior is where it does its boasting… know what I mean?
    Under the hood is an excellent Euro 6D-temp 2.3 dCi 190PS engine mated to a 7-speed auto box (if you like, you can get it with Nissan’s brand-new 6-speed manual box).

    Ford Ranger - the latest version of this tough pickup is incredibly popular but as you’ll see, it too has a lot of competition to deal with - but, it’s winning, and if you’re watching this review chances are you’ve already watched one about the Ford Ranger!
    Fiat Fullback - a great-value pickup truck platform shares with the Mitsubishi L200 so it comes from good stock. Well worth a look.
    Isuzu D-Max - there’s something understated about the D-Max, and that’s fine, it does the job of a pickup without making a fuss! Farmers love it, and that is high praise indeed!
    Mercedes-Benz X Class - sharing some bits of the Nissan Navara meant Mercedes-Benz built a luxury pickup on the bedrock of a top-performing platform. But this truck is not hanging about much longer at all!
    Toyota Hilux - we’re several generations in now, and the Hilux continues to perform incredibly well. It’s got the usual high Toyota build standard and the tech bundled in there is very user-friendly.
    Mitsubishi L200 - The sixth version of this powerful truck has just hit the market and I love its new looks and refined engine. The Barbarian trim level is better than ever with a powerful engine under the hood and leather luxury behind the doors!
    And finally, the VW Amarok - the VW brand is incredibly strong and is clearly on show in the Amarok pickup truck. It’s big and comfy at speed, so much so you’d easily mistake it for an SUV’s drive quality!
    And there you go, there’s loads of competition being faced by the new Nissan Navara, but thousands of users across the globe tell you this IS a great pickup truck! Put it on your list for when you head to vanarama.com to look for some deals.
    So, how do we finish this one?
    Well, the Navara has been around in various guises since 1997, and the quality of the Navara just seems to improve with every new version.
    This latest version isn’t a revolution for the Navara; it’s a testament to Nissan knowing what works in a pickup truck and how to execute that vision near flawlessly.
    If you’re looking at the Navara with the intention to lease, this version at the Tekna trim level is where your search should end - they’ve damn-near hit this truck pitch-perfect if you ask me.

    Proud to own a Nissan Navara D23 2019! Great driving pleasure, practicality, and all arounder! It was excellent value for money, it's got some great bells and whistles like heated seats, keyless entry, tinted rear windows, etc... manual transmission but it's pretty good for a pick up! Who said only the Germans build luxury cars, aye?

    I'm in love with my Navara D23 2019! I think its the greatest Pickup for this value of money. I've paid about 30% off the retail for a brandnew car. Thats about 33,5 k in €. Thats insane for that much car. The blind button under the climate control is a rear differential lock. Nice review!

    Cheers mate. I mentioned this because I am looking to buy a 4x4 ute, very confused about whats on offer, best motor and drive train combination. Have read Nissan utes are crap, so very interested to see why. Have read so many reviews on so many utes, all seem to point towards Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux. But they have had their share of problems also. Its a mine field in the UTE market.

    • @vanaramauk
      @vanaramauk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom here: I completely agree... but I wouldn't describe it as a minefield. Fords are very reliable, Toyota's Hilux is a great platform, but the Nissan platform is surprisingly tough. If you're looking for a wide one though - check out the VW Amarok.

    I took delivery of a new Navara Tekna back in October 2019 Auto, loved it straight away however it had issues from the start, the main one being a weird engine vibration, it went into the dealership in January to sort out, still not had it back as they can’t fix it, I have rejected it, Nissan Customer service are not good at all, so wish I had gone for a Ranger or L200 as the whole experience has put me off.

    • @vanaramauk
      @vanaramauk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom here: That does sound like a bad experience. It doesn't happen often, but it's no less easy to hear that customers don't get what they were looking for. I can't recommend L200s highly enough - the new Series 6 is particularly excellent.

    It's the armrest at the the back and the triton's lacking of vanity mirror at the driver side that has got my mind not made of on whether to get a navara or triton.

    Are the backs of the seats heated as well as the parts you stick your bum on?Is the steering wheel adjustable for reach as well as rake?Does the infotainment centre have a SD card slot for music?

    • @vanaramauk
      @vanaramauk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    it is very good off road, unlike most others the ABLS continues to work on front wheels when rear diff is engaged. From off road trips on uneven and slippery surfaces it has so much grip and good gearing. Acceleration is near top for pickup, exception of v6 offerings, and has higher power to mass ratio than latest 2.0 wildtrak. Seats are zero gravity inspired as well, no bouncy rear on gravel and bad roads. U will hv to drive it over a long distance variation (gravel, high speed, off road) to appreciate it as the best package. Over short trips, depending on road, others may seem to be better by quick first impressions

    • @Rroff2
      @Rroff2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm hanging on to my V6 Outlaw as long as possible - I'm tempted to change for a newer one but I find these turbo'd 2-2.3L engines unsatisfying - just don't have the refinement and feeling of there being more in the tank like you get with the V6 or as effortless when it comes to a real load or off-road.
      That isn't to say they are bad engines - some are pretty good for what they are - just don't compare IMO to a good V6.
