Regarding what you said, about the teachers that tell you that you can only do things a certain way, I heard him saying in an inteview, when he was asked why he didn't go into opera (he was offered a posion as a countertenor) that he thought that opera, even if he loves it, was too constraining, there's no room for creativity and improvisation and he likes to try new things and explore what music has to offer. He has such an extensive catalog ,in so many styles, it will be an interesting journey. I hope you choose to react to more Dimash.

I didn't get the quite the same emotional response as the 1989 performance by Koji Tamaki of the song. That version emotionally destroyed me when I heard it.

73 here in California, and the first time I heard Dimash sing this beautiful song my eyes welled up and a tear ran down my ancient cheek. You think this is unfair? Watch "Olympico" which won him the classical singer of the year in Russia. Then you "must" see "El Amor en Ti " which he composed for his Spanish speaking Dears, and shows why he recieved his Masters Degree with top grades. I have yet to figure out why other Dears ask for this song, when you are an Opera instructor. The same for reactors who know nothing but Pop, and have no clue about real music. I am glad you asked this. I was just discussing this earlier with my community. If I had allowed myself to not listen to the other voices and just do what made me happy I may be somewhere else in my singing career. However, I do not regret anything so far. It isn't too late to still do what I love and go against the "grain." When I discovered him initially I did not realize what all he was doing as far as "rebelling" with the voice. So now I am able to recognize it in others much more than maybe I could in the past. To answer your question, I wonder if I would be less concerned with placement and more concerned with just feeling and having fun. :)

I will argue one point, being from the UK the same as Ren I wouldn't say he's unique. We have other singers who both sound alike and work in the same genres. Where Ren excels is an intelligent use of social media and knowing the British love of the underdog. He's a very astute businessman.

Regarding what you said, about the teachers that tell you that you can only do things a certain way, I heard him saying in an inteview, when he was asked why he didn't go into opera (he was offered a posion as a countertenor) that he thought that opera, even if he loves it, was too constraining, there's no room for creativity and improvisation and he likes to try new things and explore what music has to offer. He has such an extensive catalog ,in so many styles, it will be an interesting journey. I hope you choose to react to more Dimash.

I didn't get the quite the same emotional response as the 1989 performance by Koji Tamaki of the song. That version emotionally destroyed me when I heard it.

Have you heard Dimash and Placido? Wow. He had 1 day to rehearse. Another song is his version of "Ave Maria", It's a vocalize version of the Cassini and the last note C6 will blow you away. Then of course is the completely insane "Stanger" with a 5 octave range, it was written for him. He's gotten better as he nears 30. Definitely a yes on Dimash and symphonic metal. 73 here in California, and the first time I heard Dimash sing this beautiful song my eyes welled up and a tear ran down my ancient cheek. I don’t know how many reactions I’ve heard to this video, but I still can’t get over the crystal clarity of this rendition. He truly is a master of his instrument, and he can subsequently do anything that strikes his fancy, no matter the octave.

You think this is unfair? Watch "Olympico" which won him the classical singer of the year in Russia. Then you "must" see "El Amor en Ti " which he composed for his Spanish speaking Dears, and shows why he recieved his Masters Degree with top grades. I have yet to figure out why other Dears ask for this song, when you are an Opera instructor. The same for reactors who know nothing but Pop, and have no clue about real music. Dimash has something for everyone, especially for the first time someone hears him perform.

Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in Kazakh familys. I am glad you asked this. I was just discussing this earlier with my community. If I had allowed myself to not listen to the other voices and just do what made me happy I may be somewhere else in my singing career. However, I do not regret anything so far. It isn't too late to still do what I love and go against the "grain." When I discovered him initially I did not realize what all he was doing as far as "rebelling" with the voice. So now I am able to recognize it in others much more than maybe I could in the past. To answer your question, I wonder if I would be less concerned with placement and more concerned with just feeling and having fun. :)

Dimash a refusé une proposition pour intégrer l’Opera d’Astana. Il pense comme vous qu’il y a trop de règles à respecter dans le chant classique. Il veut chanter ce qu’il veut comme il veut. C’est pour cela qu’il s’est lancé au début dans le néoclassique. Certains chanteurs d’opéra le critiquent quand ils commentent Dimash lorsqu’il chante avec des chanteurs d’opéra car ils se réfèrent strictement aux règles contraignantes de l’opéra que Dimash bien sûr n’utilise pas sciemment 😊😅. Grâce à Dimash des gens comme moi en viennent à s’intéresser au classique que je trouvais ennuyeux à écouter…
