Beautiful. You could also just cement the black tube into the pail you used to mix the concrete and lift it into the planter. That way it could be removed if you ever wanted to use the planter for something else or change it.
Hi..great, clear video! I have been making umbrella planters for a few years now and have them strategically placed around the seating area and we just move the umbrellas from planter/stand to another as the sun/shade shifts. A few are close to the chairs and I add a small piece of slate-flat stone, on the top, next to a flower, and it serves as a "coaster" for a drink. A tip...and I agree w/ N Angel above... use the pail, for her exact reason. Also, I put landscape fabric over the stones, so the topsoil doesn't sink through. Also, I use ABS pipe, instead of the white PVC; as the ABS is already black in color. I started off using wood whiskey barrels...they looked great....but over time they (all wood) gives out. Then I had large ceramic/clay decorative pots - looked stunning, but some did not make it through Pennsylvania winters. (cracked) Now I use heavy resin pots...and no breakdowns! The only thing we now have to do is update the plants we add in spring. I really enjoyed you video!
Oh my gosh Thankyou. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It can be very windy here. I can't tell you how many times I have had to retrieve my umbrella from the yard as it has completely been ripped of the deck. You are insane smart. 😍
Love your umbrella stand. It looks amazing with flowers. I will copy your ideas for my new project of making a sturdy stand for the windy Palm Springs. Spent hundreds dollar for the heavy umbrella stand but still got it knocked over by the strong wind here. Thank you !!
Ty for doing a different amazing not cheap looking diy and outdoor diy is an added bonus. It seems lik last few yrs on TH-cam has been everyone copying but adding something diff to theirs or the diy looks so cheap that I know in this big fancy homes the creator is only keeping the diy showcased for that video!!!! It’s becoming so boring!!!! Ty for ur unique individual creativity it’s awesome!!!! (Even if someone else did a similar diy to urs I haven’t seen it yet n there’s not a 100 similar versions!!!!

Wondering if I could find a pot that my stand would fit in. We could still put bricks on top in the pot. Right now we have big chunks of flagstone on top of the base to weigh them down. Boy was it windy today in NW Tucson 💨 The plants look great!
