  • How to use NovoLog? Dr. Ergin, the founder, and CEO of sugarMDs.com will show and explain in this video how to use the Novolog Flexpen. Novolog should be administered by subcutaneous injection in the abdominal region, buttocks, thigh, or upper arm. Because NovoLog has a more rapid onset and a shorter duration of activity than human regular insulin, it should be injected immediately (within 5-10 minutes) before a meal. Stay tuned for the full tutorial.

    You forgot to use the alcohol swab to disinfect the pen before attaching the needle and on the skin before injection.

      Are you supposed to remove the needle after each use ? Are you supposed to clean the site where you inject with alcohol ?
      Thanks in advance

    Can you show how to administer to someone else? Or with that pad standing up straight so I know how to angle it.

    Where do you stick it at and Says 3time a day

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You should typically inject insulin into areas with more fat, like your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Always follow your doctor’s advice on frequency, which may include three times a day based on your insulin needs. Be sure to consult the video or your healthcare provider for specific guidance!

    I can’t seem to take out the small plastic part of the needle

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It sounds frustrating that you’re having trouble with the small plastic part of the needle on your NovoLog Flexpen. If the needle cover is hard to remove, try gently twisting it while pulling to release it. Make sure your hands are dry for a better grip. If the problem persists, it might be helpful to ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist for assistance, as they may have additional tips for you. Stay safe, and feel free to ask any other questions! 😊

    I was told to take it AFTER meals, not BEFORE meals.

      NovoLog is a fast-acting insulin that begins to work very quickly. After using it, you should eat a meal within 5 to 10 minutes.

    How many units of Novolog if you are carb counting?
    I just got switched from Humalog to Novolog last week and my number have been jumping around like crazy and my doctors haven't provided carb counting or injection amounts.

    !PLEASE HELP! i know this is late, but if there's a chance that anyone would be able to give me some insight about novolog, i would really appreciate it. i switched from novolin R to novolog about 6 days ago, obviously not a long time 😅, but i feel like GARBAGE! with novolin, my blood sugar is very well managed in my opinion and it's easy for me when carb counting (i use a 10:1 carb:unit ratio) with the novolog, i use the same method at first, i started to eat, because my endocrinologist made it clear to have my food ready when i inject due to how quickly novolog works compared to novolin. i noticed that it not only spiked, but it did not drop until THREE HOURS LATER! D: and when it dropped, it dropped so quickly that i couldn't even focus on anything else other than how bad i felt. the next night, i did the same dosage ratio, but i waited to eat until i actually felt the difference. this took a full hour. i ate, and still spiked! and again... three hours after injection, i'm back laying down trying not to fall over with my blood sugar in the toilet :') i usually always round down the unit ratio whether i'm closer to the next 10g of carbs or not. being active takes care of the remaining carbs. lately, i've just felt so sick, unable to do anything i normally do and ALL of this started after i started taking novolog. there has been no other change to my routine or lifestyle in the last week other than this. i haven't felt this bad physically since i was prescribed 70/30 after first being diagnosed with T1D in july 2022. yes, only a few months, but i know this doesn't feel right. i feel like i've been doing so well with the novolin, that it's worth having in my system longer, AND FEEL GOOD, rather than risk anything having to do with my health. if anyone could please let me know if switching to a different brand of insulin causes a reaction like this?? i've only seen information about skin reactions, but i do not have that. i've been so nauseous ever since i started taking it, cold sweats, lightheadedness, i'm extremelyyy shaky all of the time, my heart is constantly pounding (feels like racing, but when i check my pulse or my apple watch, my BPM is only slightly elevated), and several other things. like i mentioned, i'm newly diabetic, and unfortunately, i do not have any family or friends who also have T1D. this is such a shot in the dark, but i would be so grateful for an answer.
