My doctor wants me to go to a class and the pharmacist showed me the best that she could but to see a demonstration is key. Thanks so much in advance..
very nice video, most of doctors recomend to keep pen in fridge after open, but i see that is not neccessary. thanks for clarify that. as for needles i change once a week only.
Tonight is my first time using insulin pen and I'm scared I'm afraid of the side effects what's going to happen to me and I'm afraid to give myself a shot I need encouragement of Summer afraid I can't do this
iğlenleri tıkalı oluyor bu yüzden çalışmıyor ..bu sorunla karşılaşırsanız iğnesini değiştirin. If the needles are clogged and not working, replace the needle.
If it stings you may be injecting directly into muscle. I know the video shows that but some people, like me can't do that. I have to inject into belly, or arm fat. You should also pinch up the skin to reduce the surface tension. You may need someone to help you if you are thin. Good luck.
I think when a Doctor prescribes Insulin to a patient. Then that patient should be shown how to inject themselves before they leave that office. Or be sent to a Diabetic Education class that will show and monitor that patient injecting themselves. This should be done before a patient injects themselves for the first time. If this isn't done, then the Doctor that prescribed the Insulin, should not be practicing medicine. No one should have to watch a video, to educate themselves on such an important issue.
Well I'm sorry to inform you, but yes there are Doctor's offices that most definitely do not show the patient how to inject themselves. You are very rude and very uninformed. Either that or you don't have a working knowledge of English.
WTF is your problem? Some of not most people should be SMART enough to ask their doctor to show them how to use it properly. It still helps to have these videos to help people like me to use the pen in the right way. GET OVER YOURSELF!!
call your pharmacy and request a refill. They will contact your doctor and get a refill prescription, but if you haven't been in for awhile, you may have to make a follow-up appointment. If they take more than 48hrs, I would call your doctor's office to make sure they got it.
because the point of the needle will turn a little bit and the second time can be painful, and the other reason is that the biological remains ( eg blood) on the needle get contaminated with bacteria and u can get an infection
I'm afraid of put stuff into my body, I just put five units when directed to put 10 so if I hear if you hear back from me it looks like everything went well LOL
Hello. Say you need 50 units but when you are turning the dial to 50 and it stops at any number below 50, whatever number it stops at is how much is left. so if it stops at say 40, then get another pen, new needle, turn dial until 10 to get the rest of the dose you need.
How nice! I sympathize with you. No one showed me anything. I just figured it out for myself. Now I changed doctors, Yikes what a mess.I went from 5 units to 15 and the pharmacist is telling me it lasts for 20 days and it does not.
Great video, today is my 4th day, I did not know that I should keep the opened pen at room temp & have injected cold insulin, would that take away from its effectiveness?

Thanks for this video. I have questions about the needle. Do I need to expel air from the needle every time I use a new needle? Thank you.
It's old but yes. The test is to ensure that the needle is working, so whenever you use a new needle you have to do the test.
Lantus can cause stinging due to the PH of the medication too
This is very helpful thank you very much for uploading this video
Is "safety check" necessary for EVERY dose or just each new pen (as is the case with my Ozempic pen)

because the point of the needle will turn a little bit and the second time can be painful, and the other reason is that the biological remains ( eg blood) on the needle get contaminated with bacteria and u can get an infection

No. Use it untill it is out of insulin.

NO - Use the pen until it's empty - needles are 1 time use.
