    You say that the camber is wrong but if you add more negative camber it inceases. -2.5 + -1.25 =-3.75. Codemasters seem to have it right. What would really help is a graphic against each variable that shows the movement of the tyre/ height/ wing to clear it all up once and for all!

    Your video on F1 23 car set ups is the best I have come across since the release of the game. Your explanation of each set up is easy for even a layman like me to easily understand. Well-done. I've subscribed to your channel and will follow on your further advice on how to extract the maximum potential from F1 23.

    Nice one! Just started playing F1 2023.
    Need to learn a lot!
    One thing tho, before you begin messing with a setup, learn the track.
    Don't mess with the setup that much because your not consistent enough.(that what i always do/did with ACC)

    I have to say I love what you do. I have made your setups as a base line for me and they are great. I love that I can go straight to a race with the setup. I do tweak them a bit to fit my style but the base you share make it so easy to get to that perfect per person setup.

    this is a great guide - two main questions: 1) each time you take 5 laps on a tire and change the set up, wouldnt you want to then go out on the same grade tire so as to have a 1 for 1 comparison? the softs might handle differently than the hards, etc. How do you ensure consistency for accurate results? 2) Also, do you suggest anything different for people that play MyTeam? when you go and test an "optimized" set up for a track in a grand prix weekend, is that translatable to your new car since you're using the same set up? or will MyTeam car handle completely differently than say a Ferrari, regardless of setup? thanks so much! these videos are great and you have a cadence similar to "How to with John Wilson", very pleasing

    • @SimRacingSetups
      @SimRacingSetups  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yea. I'd recommend doing like for like tyres. You can quit the session and restart the weekend to reset the tyre allowance if you run out. Generally a MyTeam car will handle a touch different depending on the upgrades you have, but I always use these setups as a baseline, and only normally adjust them in minor areas such as the wings or tyre pressures for My Team.

    Great video, helped me understand the aero better. 1 thing I do disagree with you on is how camber min/max is set. As a mechanic myself when it comes to alignment angles min is always your most negative number and max is always you most positive number.
    Anyways great video, keep up the great work.

    • @viniciusvieiracruz
      @viniciusvieiracruz ปีที่แล้ว

      But even considering that min is always the most negative number like you said, it is still the max negative chamber angle, so that's why the wording is confusing, so when in the explanation it says "increase this part of the setup to the max to get some kind of result", it begs the question, max what? Max number which would be -2.50 the least negative value, or max chamber angle which would be -3.50 the most negative value

    • @SimRacingSetups
      @SimRacingSetups  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Completely understand what you're saying, and you're probably right from a technical / mechanical stand point which is probably why Codies have done it. It's just confusing because to me, max should represent the maximum lean angle. But hey ho, doesn't matter too much! :) Thanks for the comment.

    Question: In the temperature tab of the MFD, which temp. should do I look at to determine proper tire temp.? The top temp. or the middle temp.? I assume the bottom temp. is the brakes, but I don't know which of the other two readings is the information that I need for changing my tire pressure.

    • @n0body550
      @n0body550 ปีที่แล้ว +3

  • @20edney

    4:21 Regarding the brake bias which you say to always change to 55% to begin with - does this make any difference if I have the anti-lock brakes setting on? As in would it be any different if I have 50% instead?

    • @lewismann3

      Good question. Hope he sees this

    • @tamesuperjazz2803
      @tamesuperjazz2803 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t run abs anymore but I’d assume it does as it affects your tyre wear. If your brake bias is more forwards then the front tyres will wear faster than the rears and that obviously plays into your race management and how the car handles. That being said, unfortunately I’m no expert and would love to know more myself

    • @SimRacingSetups
      @SimRacingSetups  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People say you can run 50% bias with ABS turned on. I haven't tried it enough to confirm.

    • @Rickybobby64209
      @Rickybobby64209 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A forward brake bias will cause the car to lunge forward more under braking which moves the center of momentum of the car forward and loads up front tires. If you've ever tried stopping with just the front brakes on a bicycle with poor rear brakes, you've felt that lunge and consequent forward momentum shift. The lunge forward shifts the weight of the car forward and into the front tires, which creates more mechanical grip momentarily and allows you to carry more speed during the corner entry phase, especially if the braking zone prior to the corner is considered a heavy one (more lunge, more force, more grip)
      A couple examples where adjusting your brake bias forward can be useful are at Bahrain's Turn 1 and Turn 3 at the RBR. If you have a wheel that has knobs/buttons, you can bind them to the Brake Bias Increase & Brake Bias Decrease functions so you can easily change your bias setting on the fly during a race without having to navigate the on-screen MFD. Having the capability to quickly make the right adjustments at the right parts of the track can help shave off a couple of tenths at most tracks and maybe close to a full second at circuits featuring lots of heavy braking zones into slow speed corners such as Bahrain & Azerbaijan.

  • @regmyster7626

    So do you recommend slightly altering your car setups to suit ur driving style?

    • @SimRacingSetups
      @SimRacingSetups  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! The setups I create are optimised car setups which should make you faster but one setup won’t suit everybody. I’d definitely recommend tweaking them to suit your own style. Some might not need any tweaking, while some might 👍🏻
