When it comes to turning off the racing line I found watching real life qualifying videos with the driver explaining it a great way to learn the track.
Just got a wheel for Christmas and started with no ABS and medium traction control, all other assist off except gearbox while I learn to flippin drive lmao 😂. I spent the last 2-3 hours just driving silver stone and for the first hour I could barely complete a lap. Turning on the racing line for braking reference is great just ID something that is next to the first red indicator and your golden. I drove with “corner’s only” for about an hour and managed to crack under the 1:30:00 mark which felt sooooo good. I would use this if you are a beginner learning new tracks. I will probably do this until I can ID braking markers without corners only active consistently. It’s a grind but sooo rewarding and extremely fun
The tracking issue mostly resolve itself once you turn off the ABS. The result of not using ABS is that you leave the corners with more exit speed thus a less likely you will feel the need to accelerate more quickly. The issue with ABS is that you have to brake differently with ABS on. You have to find the braking point irrespective of the racing lines colors. Keep in mind when you turn off ABS you will lock up a lot at first. It was on my third attempt that I minimized it. There is one particular corner I struggle to get around with ABS and without ABS I hit it perfectly now. Ultimately you are much better off without assist though you may not think you are.
@@JS-id7nd I don't have an exact time, but the first thing you will do is lock up your brakes. You will teach yourself to gradually lift up to prevent locking up. Essentially, you will learn how to do basic trail braking. Don't fret too much on how long, when you do learn how to, it will be much better. ;) Expect it to strugggle with little progress in the beginning, but once you get it, it will improve quicker.
After finally learning no abs and tcs med off the the corner braking line was the hardest to get used to. Especially as a controller player trail braking and in this tense moments accidentally squeezing that 1/4 in trigger travel out of corners lol after Qatar track new to this years game I instantly fell in love with the flow and being able to pull offf running very high downforce, I turned off the corner line and much sooner than I imagined I was gaining .5 sec a lap in time trial. Then went back to the braking line and was doing worse. So it may be a pain to learn no driving line. But in the end it’s so much more worth it. For lap times and immersive fun. Great video btw
I play on controller with no assists + manual gears, but the racing line ironically is the one assist I struggle to turn off just due to the fact of forgetting my brake points. Edit: Turned off racing line and actually improving at a solid pace.
@@AliEfe-f7q After turning it off I am now very experienced with it off around every track on the calendar, all I can say is if you decide to turn it off, stick with it off and practice with it turned off. Watching guides is optional Imo as I just eventually adapted with it off over time.

Hi! Great video. I have some experience (no assists, was top 3% on most tracks on F1 22). I kinda know a bit what I'm doing, understand balance, etc. But something I can't figure out is grip and minimum speed through corners. Looking at you and other pros it looks like there is just waaaay more grip mid corner. Any tips to improve on that aspect? Thanksssss
Try to consciously focus on getting better exits through corners, especially in hard braking zones. Line the car up so under braking so that it’s slow in, fast out. You can gain an immense amount of time like this. There is a lot of grip in the corners in F1 23, even I still have to finetune acceleration through corners as it’s quite easy to go full throttle very quickly. You got this, keep practicing!
I definitely will. I guess watching also feels different than driving. I might be sending it a bit too much by braking late now that you mention it. I will give that a try! Thanks for the quick response!

Im struggeling alot on contoller for grip. Whenever I come out of a slower corner and start to accelerate im starting to drift. This might be happening because i accelerate to hard.
I was having some problems with it in my first play session but it's not happening anymore, I started being more gentle while changing from acceleration /braking /steering, start about 1/4 and going up to full trigger/analog if needed (I'm currently playing on a controller with automatic gears on)

You can, but in reality only F1 Esports drivers do that for qualifying laps only. I would not recommend doing that yourself unless you’re racing ultra competitively. 56-58% is the golden zone for Brake Bias

Raise your car and try max brake bias. I've always ran as low as possible with 50/50bb. I had the same issue. Seems like I would hit the brake and my back end would kick out. These changes have helped me keep the car stable
If you’re using pedals go to the input settings in f123 and go to calibration. Turn up the brake saturation it makes them more sensitive. It’s impossible to play with this at zero using a G920
